I'm glad it helped you. If you want to see another way for how to split an image in photoshop ( I think it's the easiest way ) 👉 ua-cam.com/video/VOmGMcHjTv0/v-deo.html
thanks for the tutorial it works 😁. But It seems with your way, i need to import the image and split it 1 by 1 as you did in your video. i have to work with a lot of image to split. so i have a question, how do i split multiple images?
If you want to add multiple images, create artboards for each image and select each artboard and with slice tool select each image from artboard and right click and divide slice and in that window you can select in how many parts to split an image.
Great tutorial. question: when done, even after clearing guides, a dotted blue border and a gray box (01) in the top left corner remain. How to get rid of those and return to normal?
Hi, After you exported the image, it remains the guides and the slice number with border, to clear the guides press ctrl/cmd + : , or go to view - clear guides, and to clear the slice border - select slice select tool and you can select a specific slice and delete, or you can go to view - clear slices and clear all slices from the image.
All of them show you to save the "divided" images on the computer. No tutorial showed me how to actually crop the image that is on the layer in Photoshop into different layers. Man, am I the only one who wants to do this in the entire Photoshop history?
If you want to crop the image in different layers, select part of the image with one of the selection tools, for ex. rectangular marquee tool and press ctrl/cmd +J and you make a copy for that part of the image in different layer, and so on for each part of the image.
I want to create a mural to be custom printed at 300 dpi with panels 48" wide. The parent image wants to be a composite created from fusing a number of partially overlapping images into a single coherent whole using, for example, airbrushes. The final image wants to be about 14' high by 18' wide comprised if vertical panels. I have tried projecting the image with an HD digital projector and the resolution is adequate, so some of the challenges are to create the composite parent image with max resolution on a 27" iMac for screen editing, then define vertical panels for printing, export them an interpolate up to 300 dpi to make the printer happy. Is this feasible? How?
When I choose this option, it will only allow me to have this image at 64% of the original scale and won't let me increase the size. Do you know how to fix this issue? Also, great tutorial!
Hi, Maybe you have selected the crop tool and in the top part you have preseted some options. When you select the image - go to View - select new guide layout - choose in how many parts do you want to split the image( column/rows) - then ok and then in the left side select Slice tool - in the top part to have style normal and then click on slices from guides(is the fast way) - then - file - export - save for web. I hope you fix that issue.
I have heard this situation before, try to open the image again and follow the same steps - Select the image, then split the image in how many parts you want, > view - new guide layout and then select the slice tool and click on slice from guide or just select each part of image separately. Then with all the slices selected go to file - export - save for web and choose ( jpeg. png,) click on save and in the next window choose where to export the images and select all slices.
You can't place the guides in diagonally to create a triangle, but you can create a shape in triangle ore in what form you want and place the image in shape (create clipping mask). Place the shape below to the image and in the layers panel with the image selected press alt or option and you will see an arrow then click to place the image in shape. Then you must export the image as png.
You can make a selection from a part of the image, let`s say with rectangular marque tool and in the selected part right click and choose Layer via copy or cut and that part of the image is added on another layer.

@@nikoletbanakova Hi, maybe the issue it was from the photo. If you add a jpeg image in photoshop and then go to file - export - save for web - choose jpeg and then should save as jpeg all sliced parts of the image. You can selected a single sliced frame and choose at what quality do you want to export or you can selected all sliced frames and choose quality from all frames. You can't selected all frames and choose different quality for each in part.
After you split the image, select the slice tool and right click in each part/slice of the image and click edit slice options - and it opened an window and you can change the name.
