The hall of legends was launched prematurely(before faker’s retirement) because riot wanted to monetize his peak while people still cared. Even Riot didnt think there would be a better opportunity to launch that product. Props to faker for showing up at worlds and making them loads of money for years to come.
So T1 placed higher then HLE in Spring, MSI, EWC and Worlds and finished in third in Summer..... therefore you need to weigh worlds heavily in order for them to be 3rd? Is it just me or does that not make any sense. Liked the players of the year category tho
In all my life watching analysis channels talking about sports, I’ve never seen a group of well-informed analysts try as hard as they do to NOT reward clutch ability, and winning when it matters most, when it comes to ranking players and teams. I understand that you want to encapsulate the whole body of work across the year, but at a point shouldn’t clutch factor into how good a player is? Monte/Dom has no problem saying Faker/T1 is the most clutch player/team of the year, but the way they are ranking it really seems that they try to exclude this from their criteria, when arguably it should be one of their most important. As a side note: I really don’t think Bin looked as AMAZING in this worlds as you guys claim. He absolutely crushed during the Weibo series, true, but in the swiss stage he had a lot of problematic team fights where he leapt in 1:3/1:4 with no chance of his team being able to help him (which was part of the reason why they went down 1:2 in the first place). And during the finals, excluding the catch onto Guma on G5, there wasn’t much he showed to show he is the definite best player on the rift (again, not really his fault, but the way you guys were talking about him it makes it seem like he was dragging BLG all game). I think Chovy or Knight should have the nod for year-MVP, IMO. Finally, I really appreciate you guys trying to combat wrong narratives (a lot of them related to Faker and T1 obviously), but you really should tell that even neutrals are getting tired of the constant and repetitive abuse on casual T1 fans, from the comments in recent videos (if you truly think that these comments are being made by the same T1-trolls you harp on about, I dunno what to tell you). For example, the “Faker of the Year award” segment was so difficult to listen to (especially Monte), because everything T1 related (even the compliments) is so backhanded that it’s getting a bit cringeworthy. Please try to create a more balanced atmosphere in the next season, for the sake of the listeners of this show who actually care about good analytic content. Good luck for next year boys.
totally agree with everything, even as someone who agrees that T1 fans can be toxic this episode was mostly unwatchable because they trip over logic sometimes (especially the clutch part) to one-up whoever they are mad at
Just look at other sports like NBA, NFL etc. who gives a shit if you don't perform in regular season as along as you make it to playoffs and clutch it? The superstars are those who get it done when it matters. For example Keria was sooo far ahead of the other supports at worlds, I really couldnt care less if he inted some lckr regular season games
@@DerWinkler does NBA give out "Champions" titles like lol summer and spring season? I also don't remember NBA having an msi. If we only use worlds as a measuring stick then it doesn't make sense that Zeus, Oner, Faker and Keria got awards for being best in their roles for 2022 since DRX won that year. We can't compare traditional sports to Esports since they have different structures.
Yea I don’t understand how Bin played amazingly in the finals, and if you look at his Jax throughout the tournament he had a large amount of team fights where he played poorly. At the very least he didn’t show he was one of the best players in the world at all But I do agree that Bin was best top over the entire year
I don't even think hes cutting people off, its just either the talking point hasnt been fully finished or he feels he needs to fill in when there is silence
@@VaijiroWhy are you being obtuse? None of these guys have ever once said MSI was a more prestigious tournament in 2019. In 2024, with a completely different format, they still have never claimed it is more prestigious. The simple point is that it’s a more robust tournament due to having double elimination, that’s all. Actually lying for free 👍
@@skrattaoppar9753In the modern era sure. 2019 G2 made world finals and won MSI, they could've won a double elim back then. The year before FNC were in the worlds finals. No western team post 2020 is getting through a double bracket final though, sure.
I love the narrative changes when it comes to T1, this guys will complement T1 but there's always a catch. T1 aren't allowed to be called underdogs even tho they are 4th seeds and they aren't allowed to be called the best team in the world because they aren't performing well in summer(they are actually good during spring). So the ending narrative because they aren't allowed to be underdog and the best is everyone just chokes which is the funniest narrative in this podcast has defaulted to when it comes to T1.
Exactly. And I don't understand why they do this kind of mental gymnastics. Its legit some kind of childish stubbornness at this point. T1 was the best team at Worlds, just give them the credit they deserve.
Yeah to Monte and Dom it's basically if T1 performs, it is because everyone choked. If T1 fails to perform, they are the ones that choke. This way they can shit on T1 no matter what
They still are dumbass. I'm fucking tired of the fandom I'm apart of being dumb as hell. The topic is about the best player for the entire year and not just worlds. You guys are the ones discrediting t1's win by saying that they're the best in the world therefore they will win worlds. They came in as underdogs beating everyone when they should not have been apart of worlds in the first place.
@@slippy47 Exactly, this comment section is full of mentally ill T1 fans that clearly didn't watch league the rest of the year. Don't take them too seriously.
@@darin2147except id say its the opposite, people are hyper focusing on their horrible summer - and forgetting that this team did not place below 3rd all year - 2nd spring, 3rd msi and 3rd summer. For t1 expectations, low but compared to every team?? Its ridiculous because if any team did what t1 did this year it would hardly be considered a failure but because its t1 it has to be LMAO
@@StarFighter7X it's definitely not a failure, but t1 was clearly the 3rd best team if you look at the entire year. They won worlds, so they definitely didn't fail, but they were worse then blg and gen g for 80% of the year. Just like JDG were the best team of 2023. It depends on how highly you rate worlds. It's definitely the most prestige accomplishment but not the only thing that matters.
Dom asked why Worlds was rated so much higher than any other tournament (people rate it a 10 and regular season winner is like a 2, in his words), and I am here to give my opinion. The storylines all converge at worlds. Worlds is the place where the narratives built over the entire year (and past years) comes together. For example, for the GENG vs T1 match, we have the narrative of the greatest mid of all time vs the greatest mid laner now, and Faker said in the teaser that Chovy had to "prove it." Spoilers, Chovy didn't "prove it." Stacking this together with all the other years that Chovy didn't "prove it" at worlds, and you have a pretty great case for why the greatest mid of all time is better than the greatest mid now. Also, in BLG vs T1, the narrative is that can BLG break LPL's losing streak vs T1 to get knight his first title. They couldn't, and that just further solidifies T1 as the unbeatable team at worlds. Ultimately, these storylines are the most memorable thing (which is mostly lacking at every region's season finals and MSI), causing mostly everyone (including myself to an extent) to rate worlds as the most important tournament of the year. If only BLG or GENG won, they could rewrite the narrative. But they can't, because they lost.
These storylines are bult through the year, if BLG is shit all year no one gets hyper for finals. Its not good to ignore 90% of the year just to push a narrative. The average T1 fan would not say GENG is the beast team in the world if they won everything else outside of worlds. No one was saying that DRx was the beast team in the world, T1 was
Well sorry? Worlds is the pinnacle of the season Like it or not Spring winner gets msi slot and gueas what? Mai winner get a world slot Summer winner goes to worlds So its like playing a game for 60 mins and winning for 59 of it but losing the most important min People will remmeber that you lost
Also stop with the "no one gets hyped for the finals" thats false T1 vs wbg was a stomp and gueas what its ine of the most watched People like seeing thier team wins Also look at the lpl views because not winning "worlds" Even thought they won msi many times recently More than lck actualy
When dom says "Faker just had the opportunity to be clutch, and other players dont get that opportunity" He doesnt understand that the greats MAKE their own opportunity. Its not ok to do "what he was supposed to do" like Bin. if you want to be great you see the opportunity that no one else sees OR act upon the moment and carry your team on your back The coping defensive mechanism of Dom is kicking in too hard
He's kind of correct tho, mostly in the context of bin vs zeus. Bin played really fucking well, if he had faker instead of knight he would've won too. Zeus also played really well, but not necessarily better than bin, and he had faker so he won. In the context of finals ALONE, Bin > Zeus but Faker >>>>>>>>>> Knight. Of course, a lot of that is because zeus didn't have to pop off vs bin to win, his best plays were surviving multiple man dives level 1-2 while bin almost made game winning plays in game 4 with his gnar even though he was also 1.5k behind, but that's mostly because he had to and his team need him to. Also, faker >>>>>>> Bin, just no comparison. You're definitely correct, bin not being able to clutch is his problem. At the end of the day, bin and knight failed while faker and zeus succeeded. If bin was actually comparable to faker, he should've won cuz knight isn't that much worse (if at all) compared to zeus
great players create their own opportunity. opportunities don’t just appear in front of you. you create it and that’s why faker in his 11th season age 28 winning finals mvp. no wonder why dom is hated by t1 fans cause of his L takes.
Just like every American sport ,playoffs at the end determine the best team ,idk what is confusing for Dom who watches NFL and NBA ,does not matter what spot u got as long as you win in the playoffs
league is a lot more like the NFL than the NBA. LOL and the NFL have very exciting playoffs and finals because everything is single elimination and upsets can and do happen all the time. But, the NBA playoffs have best of seven series so almost all the time the better team comes out on top. Upsets still happen but its much harder. Thats essentially their argument, worlds trades competetive integrity for entertainment. The best team coming into the tournament ussually doesnt win. The best regular season team in the NFL often does not win. Both formats have their pros and cons but from an analysts perspective(which is what they are) obviosuly a format that lends itself to the best team winning is more satisfying. Also LOL is special compared to those sports because theres a worlds path right before worlds essentially changing the way people play the game. This is another factor that adds more variance. Would drx have won worlds if aatrox, akali and sylas werent all super strong. Probably not. I personally like the way worlds is, its very fun and exciting, but saying "oh they won in the end so they must have been the best team" incredibly stupid. I think T1 was in the best form and was the best team by the end of the tournament, but Drx was definetily not better than T1 when they beat them
Dom and Monte need to understand that a few dozen or hundreds, heck even thousands of T1 fan sharing the same insane take still counts as being "One Guy'd" considering they have millions of fans all around the world. I dont like they are presenting it like majority of T1 fans are just insane and dumb and they make a big chunk of their shows revolve around just shitting on T1 fans.
There are some absolute dumb T1 fans no doubt about it. Problem is these guys have gone so deep into the hate that they're becoming the exact same now with their biased takes. Idc about the "T1 hater" persona, its entertaining for sure. But at least be genuine when it comes to analysis. These biased takes trying to cope about T1 not being as good after they win the biggest tournament of the year is just pathetic, IMO.
@@user-ck6xv2uk2d It's also the main point of focus for sponsors, team management and orgs. Only these "analysts" are under the impression that casual fans are the only ones who care about World's. Teams are made and broken and salaries determined by whether you qualify and your final placement during the event.
@@user-ck6xv2uk2d Winning Worlds would be even more prestige if the format was better :D Dats kinda the point. It does matter and all teams want to win it most, but the system is kinda rigged against them :D And yes it matters LESS because of the format but because we dont have anything even remotly close in prestige, it still matters the most. I think most team would trade spring win/summer win and MSI together for a worlds title. So my internat rating is 2 per split 5 for msi 10 for worlds. I guess its still more impressive to win the first 3 in a row but since most players would take worlds over it, dats kinda how i rate it. Winning both splits you can do whenever if you are a good team in your region, MSI is nice to get but worlds you are not even granted a good road to finals if you come in as the best team. You can be the best team 2 years in a row and not win worlds, dats how unwinnable worlds is and this is mainly due to a meh format and the fact we only have one per year with no good seeding. HLE vs BLG quarters should have been a semi or could have been a final in a seeded tournament. Since coming in they won vs T1 and GenG, had a good swiss, yet never had a chance to show they are the third best team because they lost to the finalist in round of 8. I am not saying HLE was third best team but if in a tournament like worlds, where you can get fucked by the draw very hard, it would be nice to get a chance to redeem yourself before the next year in a new roster. I just would like to get a decent idea about world rankings instead of shadowboxing all the matches we never get to see.
If worlds is the only measure then suggest to riot to remove all other tournaments. IMO it is important but not end all be all important. Its like 35% of the whole year important with summer and spring at 20% and MSI at 25%.
I really wish you guys would turn down the ragebait next year and return to somewhat unbiased analysis. Its okay that everybody favors different teaams but i turn on the podcast to get analysis and it starts with 10 minutes of hate. I just dont need that and it makes turn it off before i even get to the analysis. You guys are getting hardcore oneguyed and just are stuck inn your elitist bubble that you cant recognise game anymore. I also want to add, because i havent seen it on here before, that in my opinion Bin didnt live up to the Hype and crumbled in the laneswap in G4, where he got hard outplayed by Zerus who is just the better weakside/tank player and he couldnt get it done with jax in G5. So calling him the best player is somewhat unfair because i think Zeus is way more versatile and the better player in a teamplay oriented game. Zeus also showed he can play carries last year and he learned that forcing carries when they arent the top meta option isnt always the best move.
Imagine some nobody team from LPL Won worlds they would glaze their entire cock and make them the greatest team for no reason. Thats how bias these analyst nowadays
I might be wrong, so if someone knows please correct me, but monte said geng had the best regular season record but didn't they go 17-1? Didn't t1 have the record of 18-0? I can't remember correctly so if someone knows, please tell me.
@@Dfelder261but the idea of a perfect split and winning the split too during playoff without dropping 1 bo3 or bo5 should be a way better split then gen g, only way some team can be better is by having a perfect split, wining all bo3 and bo5, and having less loss in those bo5 and bo3, so not only u gotta go without losing a series, do it with fewer 2-1 game and 3-2 game, which is mega hard
@@wwekings9505 Nah in terms of regular season this GEN.G team just had a better split. Idc that T1 got the 18-0, only losing 3 games in the entire split is far more impressive and dominant.

2:25:10 The worst take ever, T1 finished higher in Spring, EWC, MSI, and Worlds compared to HLE but somehow they are barely third because of Worlds? Even if you take out Worlds T1 finished higher in 1 split and 2 international tournaments whereras HLE finished higher in 1 split. Please tell me which team you would place higher as a stronger team year round.
HLE beating the strongest team of the year to win summer is insane. Oh, and they 6-1'd T1 in the summer playoffs. EWC is a joke, no idea why you brought that up. MSI doesn't make sense either, since HLE didn't even participate.
@@krisp1871 HLE didn't participate in MSI because T1 knocked them out in playoffs, so MSI still has to be taken into account. GenG also notoriously spent hours with no breaks reviewing EWC, so that is also simply not true.
@@krisp1871 I agree. HLE beating T1 and GENG only in summer vs all year long is almost as impressive as T1 record all year long with worlds title just a little tiny bit putting T1 ahead of HLE.
@@krisp1871 I'll break it down for you and make it simple. This is an argument about the best overall team for the year (this implies everything pre summer). - Spring: Despite getting ddos T1 end up beating HLE in rematch and qualify for MSI losing to GenG 2:3 - MSI and EWC: HLE cannot perform as they did not qualify - Summer: HLE performs better including playoffs - Worlds: HLE was a joke. End up getting smacked by GenG needing a miracle team fight to eek a win. Look horrendous vs FLY that all LCK teams basically wrote them off. Get smacked by BLG because turns out people who were merchant for a certain meta In total: HLE out performed T1 in Summer. So now you're trying to make an argument that HLE was so much superior in summer and that summer matters more for HLE to be consider the 3rd best team overall. Good one.
Monte is a troll. Throughout the year he tells people that if you bet for T1 you will lose. He makes audience think that it’s better to bet for the opposite team. Then when world final comes he makes bet for T1 to maximise his profit
@@fleokan u can’t just look at standings and say this was good result for t1. They got knocked out of third seed by Dameon who looked horrible and one game away almost getting knocked out by kt. If t1 keeps the same roster for next year, what is ur placement for this team. I would put them top 1/2 all year.
@@EnvoyoftheEnd they did look really rough summer tho. They got knocked out by damwon for third seed and then almost knocked out by kt. My point is which I agree with caedrel and this show is t1 let’s not say t1 looked like tournament favorites to win worlds. The fact that from summer to this worlds performance was insane.
I dont really get why the whole season is more important factor than winning worlds... There is a reason the goat debate in the NBA exist. People will have MJ over lebron because hes won 6-0 in finals, where as lebron is only 4-10. MJ stans wont even consider "wizards" days part of his legacy because he didnt win shit there. Anyways what im saying is that, even if you were the the greatest team in regular season and not win it all, it dont matter. Look at the 73-9 warriors.. they had the best regular season ever and lost in the finals.
The down play on t1 achievement feels so force, I just know if lng or hle win world. The whole narrative of this podcast would be that viper or scout is the number 1 in the top 5 best of the year list and that the team are above blg and gen g because they win world.
i dont think people fridge oner when t1 does badly as much as dom says; this was maybe true last year, when the criticism was valid and oner's pathing was very strange and he ignored botlane. in summer everyone said he was their best player despite that one hle series where he got washed by peanut.
Honestly, this podcast has become almost unlistenable. I really loved listening to Monte and Doa when they were casting. And in S3 regarded Monte as one of the best analysts. But listening to Monte, Thorin and Dom complain about T1 is just so tiresome. And when T1 wins, they complain about the format of Worlds. What makes podcasts like the Dive or Pog state so nice is that they focus on the analytical side of the game and keep things relatively positive and humorous. Every single time I tune in for LFN, it is just the same thing. Hating on T1, and trying to cope about LPL. Complain about how worlds should be double elims, and how T1 fans are the scum of the earth. It makes the listening experience so difficult and non-appealing. Hopefully they listen to the hundreds of comments that say the same thing. Its fine to clown on players who choke, make bad plays, etc, but you keep harping on the same things all the time. And yes people will say, "if you don't like it, don't listen". And that probably will happen to many listeners including myself. As a League and Esports fan, I want to hear good analysis coupled with credit where it is due. But for some reason, every episode after a few minutes just becomes a t1 hate train. If it were Gen.g or BLG winning, this entire episode would be so different. They would be glazing Bin and Knight all episode. But because T1 won, clutch factor isn't something important to account for and T1 fans blah blah blah. For the sake of the listeners, try to show less bias and disdain for T1. This podcast is always quick to point out the failings of other riot casters, but aren't willing to see how their podcast is becoming dull and unoriginal with the content produced.
Yup the World Cup in soccer should be the greatest goal a soccer player would want to win, truth is that world viewership is just higher then any domestic final, which should make world the goal, every team would trade domestic success for international success
The cherry picking around Worlds is crazy, lol. Worlds doesn't matter until they come to Peyz, who was at worst a top 2 adc the whole year and had one terrible series at Worlds. Just solidifies that this whole ranking is far from analytical and is as biased as can be. I don't like Peyz and I'll still give him props for being a top 2 ADC throughout the year. This has become an echo chamber reinforcing their biased narratives at this point. I'll bet IWD would have rated Peyz highly if he made this ranking alone in his own channel instead of with Monte, who just hates Peyz so much.
I am pretty sure they mention, dat they think his(Peyz) job was kinda ez as cleanup for geng and they dont rate his "good" overall year as high as you do as a result. I havnt watched much lol this year and for me viper is always the best adc ever so the adc rankings are wrong anyways :D And playing ADC for one of the best teames in the world makes the job a lot easier, dats why viper is so insane when he played flawless adc with meh teammates all those years after his worlds win. And you can argue just playing a clean janitor is kinda your job as adc and dats makes Peyz top 2 overall this year. But they never say they dont rate worlds highly, just not 80% the only thing dat matters highly and the botlane kinda pooped the semifinals and ye if your job all year was kinda chill and the one time as tournamentfavorite you need to show up and you dont dat sucks for your value. Faker would be in a similar boat if he does not clutch dat final in the most faker way ever, he does not make top 5 mid of the year even if the rest of worlds was good. Anyways i stop my random nonsense now :D PS.: The difference between 3rd and 5th or 7th best player in role x are so fine margins anyways and just opinons to listen to, you have all the right to disagree and consider peyz better then they do but blaming them for their opinion just because you disagree on a point seems kinda nit-picky on your end aswell :D soo now i stop for real, playing 70 min dota games now, my new lifesink :O^^
If GenG wins it's because of Chovy, and if they lose it's because of Peyz, that's people's narratives. Damned be the facts that he outshined Chovy several times during the year, and arguably has a far better track record.
@@sneakycuack1822 Chovy is also a clean up player by that logic. If anything Peyz with Lehends forced more plays than Chovy who was power farming sidelanes on ADCs or Asol to clean up fights later. Peyz was the best LCK ADC in Spring, in Summer Viper was better.
Because you seem to want the hate comments: I agree with T1 as the third best team this year, but I don't think that it is especially close or an evaluation that overly focuses on Worlds. A good spring that ends in place 2, 3rd best team in MSI, a bad summer and winning Worlds. The team that won spring is above, the teams that were better during MSI are above them. I don't think any other regional title is as valueable as a second place in the LCK or LPL. So how high do you need to value summer to place a team that performed worse in (or didn't qualify for) Spring, MSI and Worlds above T1? You can argue Top had a similar spring, but is third team in Summer really worth more than T1 being the clearly better team in MSI and Worlds?
Long time watcher here. The “T1 fan” hate thing is getting pretty cringe. It was funny for awhile or when it was just Dom but you guys spending 75% of the episode trying to meme about t1 fans is making it hard to watch entire episodes. There are crazed t1 fans but you guys are blowing it out of proportion with the takes and swinging the pendulum too far in the other direction. Just trying to give constructive criticism for next season.

@jeevang7853None of them hate T1 the team, they hate the fans. They praised T1 the team for what they did this worlds. Dom said Zeus has surpassed TheShy, Keria has always been better than Beryl, Guma best adc of the tournament and has glazed oner for over a year.
@@ParallelZuVega they complained that RNG “wouldn’t get credit” if they won. They never once said RNG only won cause it was the mickiest mousiest tournament of all time and T1 spanking them at worlds proved i.
At some point, winning the biggest tournament has to matter. I understand that others were more consistent than T1. But when this happens over and over again, you have to value being clutch in the game more.
Nah this is an overall view on the whole year not a fcking result based analysis. Faker and most of the T1 players are dogshit this year before worlds they were even on the brink of not qualifying in the first bracket of the gauntlet what more facts do you want?
If T1 being clutch makes them so much better. Why didn't they win either LCK split or MSI this year if they're so clutch? Yes, T1 are an extremely clutch team, and can perform at an insanely high level. However you've got teams like BLG, GenG, HLE who are also extremely talented teams and people love to act like the whole season doesn't matter bc they won the last tournament.
Omg, maybe because the whole season is built around it? Like msi gives you slots at worlds Summer winner guess what ? Goea to worlds Views , money , skins , fame well let me tell you you finds them most at .... you guess it worlds If you need any more prove look at the lpl reaction for not winning worlds even thought they wom msi manh times
At this Point just let DGon and Yamato run the show and invite a guest for each episode. I don't know why but Dom and Monte became more toxic and unreasonable from episode to episode since LCK Playoffs Episodes... I used to watch and listen to the podcast as someone who isn't a "fan" of a specific team, I just enjoyed listening to their analyses of games and their dynamics. But since a few months I just get to hear how Shit T1 and Riot is lmao it feels like every episode has at least 1 hour and a half about this toxicity... Pls just stick with the values this podcast started
Dom, i know you try to carry yamato, its time to stop man. And Monte, how come youre getting saltier and saltier. You and Doa used to be S tier - happy days. Cheer up man.
lol why is the biggest tournament in the world that everything leads up to weighed more than the others? idk maybe because its the biggest tournament in the world that everything leads up to. Are we having this same convo if BLG won? If Gen G won? if any other lpl team won? no we wouldnt. Also BDD over faker is wild, he was good at the the adc mid meta and thats it.
@horai8256 double elims and single elims both have their own flaws. There isn't really a superior format between the two it's just that the people on this show are just obsessed with double elims
@horai8256 WTF does that even mean, no shit. EVO is the biggest because people make it the biggest nobody cares for ur fucking local event. No other sport has double elims, hell in football you have one fucking game and thats it, you win or go home. The format does not change the fact that the team that wins worlds beat everyone in their way.
@horai8256 of course riot makes it, it’s their game and it’s their decision. Whining every year about the format to downplay the success of those who win it is a whole level of being delusional. I bet if any team other than T1 won, this won’t even be a conversation. Worlds should not have that loser’s bracket format, since it gives a safety net to those who lost a series, with zero merits for those in the upper bracket.
Dom saying Bin didn't get opportunities to clutch was insane. Like Faker's opportunities fall into his lap? That's why he faked a back in bot, mind controlling BLG to step up further in mid lane. Then he mind controlled Guma to miss Ashe arrow so he could clutch it. Same with Galio, he just controlled the entire game so an opportunity presented itself for him to clutch. Not like "clutch" means actively looking for these plays constantly and going deep.
@@Gurpreet-sv5zg got gapped? BLG gapped every lane for 4 out of the 5 games, especially top. T1 won because of midgame mistakes and clutch faker teamfights from behind in both game 4 and game 5. Keria was second best but after that its all BLG players except for ON. Zeus got carried.

They keep saying worlds has worst format but never mentions it has the best competition. 4 best LPL teams and LCK teams make it the hardest tournament to win. Also players try way way harder during worlds. Why do you think some players only choke at worlds not some split championship
Exactly. Worlds is the most difficult tournament to win. Its knockout so you don't get second chances, and it has the strongest competition with upto 4 seeds from both LCK and LPL. This whole Worlds doesn't matter narrative is crazy talk.
Ye I’ll be honestly sure bdd was better in summer, but spring faker was imo better and worlds he was a different maker and mvp, so even if we wanted to say the whole year as a whole faker was just better then bdd
@DianStart yea sure people who "live and breathe league" from a motivational coach, a failed NA pro, and a caster that abandoned the game who is only on here cause he is blacklisted from Riot and has to pay the bills cause Overwatch league didnt pay him enough
Let me guess before I watch, in this episode Dom gets annoying talking about T1 Fan base, MSI>Worlds because T1 won it again, People rating Faker too high after his overall year. Worlds doesn't matter because no lower bracket although every major sport in the world has no lower bracket? I swear if they talk about that lower bracket sht again it's going to be annoying. Teams have 5 Games to play if the "better team" didn't win IN FIVE GAMES THEY ARE JUST BAD AND YOUR ANALYTICS ARENT AS GOOD AS YOU THINK THEY ARE.
I mean you could argue if logistics would not be a such a huge pain in the ass, the Fifa world cup could use a lower bracket for less flucky results. Also saying Major sport dont do it, so we should not, i find a bit shortsighted. E-sports in fact is not a Major sport and other esport very sucessfully have double elimination brackets. So do we copy football or the other esports. I guess you can argue for both but Overwatchleague was the closest we had to major sport and dat worked out well. I think worlds is sucessfully despite its format not because of it. Also what is sucess. League transition from player to viewer is kinda bad compared to other esport. As a game you can hardly argue its a sucess for riot but the the esports side i would argue against. And their are "Conventional" Sport dat use lowes bracket tournaments, i guess baseball would be the biggest. The CS Major is very similar to worlds, with the difference being dat we have 2 a year and the top 10 teams are very likly to be at the tournaments, while in leagues system you can argue the 5th team from china or korea should be their over 3rd seed NA, we can never now because we will never see a game played between the 3rd best NA team and the 5th best korean team. And their is 2 other big prestige tournaments a year with double bracket and a robust invite system. Also you dont need to cry, just becaue you disagree with a point you expect to be their. Maybe dont watch the show if you dont like the content but no actually ragewatch, you make them more money this way.
I was hoping for a very analytical way of viewing the games played. Like the macro (gen s's bread and butter 100%), teamfight (blg or t1), micro (specific players honestly), summoners and item perfect timers (idk which team is best at this). Unfortunately, yeah another b05 shit msi is better and chovy is the best player this year (I would argue knight cause at least he went to finals both msi and worlds plus domestic titles for both. AND DIDNT BARELY WIN AGAINST FLYQUEST
@VGKereo He also said that if the finals were played again the next day, BLG would win. Like yes, Dom. If it's a 3-2, it could have gone 2-3 on a different day. Imagine if T1 lost and someone said this cope. Dom would shit on them for days.
Entire year = whichever points T1 were bad. T1 goes 17-1 and loses to GenG in finals? GenG is better. GenG goes 17-1 and loses to T1 at worlds? GenG is better.
doesnt matter if you loose 20 games, if you won world title is over everything, the thing is for chovy mostly why been soo dominant and in worlds cant make it happen, is insane everyone will remember when chovy was in his prime, faker won 2 worlds championship, thats insane
@@Alexalevins because its a super flucky tournament with a badly made format so dat winning the damm thing is near impossible and one patch out of a season, where covy did not even play bad by most metrics, he just was not obiously the best player in every game he entered. Half the Worldspatch was *nerf covy so blg can have a chance. Faker just refused to follow the script. "Get to semis for viewership, lose in a crazy best of 5 to covy" If you take covys POV is also kinda ruff no? All year faker is not really stopping you and then the one month a year where faker is young again, your botlanes starts running it down. So you got nerfed coming in, your rival has a lvl not seen in years and your team falls apart. I think with a lower bracket and a chance for geng to fix things, a rematch might look different just a week later. Having just one big tournament per years dat really really matters to ppl without a lower bracket is just a bummer. We got robbed of geng vs blg and a rematch in the final. I dont wannna argue dat winning 5 titels(2 past his prime) in an almost unwinnable tournament does not make faker one of the greatest esports persons of all time, in the conversation with Flash, simple and the likes. With this title he might be THE esports player of our lifetime. Covy is still the better player and i would bet on covy to keep being the better player for the future, but he might never enter the conversation of goated esports personal, i would argue its near impossible to match faker at this point at least in worlds wins and league loses importance in the overall space of eports, so matching his cutural impact also seems near unreachable. Also i think at this point if faker makes it to worlds in 2029 with a bum team and 7 titels under his belt i must consider his team the favorite even if he barly makes it to the event.
Ok one more, i am drunk and i am feeling like arguing about stuff i have no real opinion on and near no qualification to talk about. We are talking something like faker 3 zeka 4 or somewhere between the realm of 3-6 right? Firstly it matters alot what you value how high. I havnt followed pro lol outside of worlds. Some podcast some random stuff so i cant judge spring, but t1 and geng where both sick right? I think their is a world where t1 could be a better team without faker playing dat insane and zika as a player might performed even or better in spring and msl, i dont know just for the arguments sake. Worlds i dont argue with, how could you, also I like the Worlds Faker > Faker typo, because dat kinda was what it came down too ^^^ So if you say spring as individuals zika = faker , msl i dont know, wait i check, well i mean zika wasnt at msi so for me dats still spring, lets say spring Zika > Faker and because faker got to msi and looked alright we make Sping is equalish, Summer Zika wins, and worlds goes to faker. I would personally give it to faker the 3rd place, just because winning worlds in this fashion is this insane to me, but since its mostly about the whole year and we are not giving worlds dat much of a buff. Isnt it kinda a toss up between faker and zika then? also arguing as random ppl in the internet about the 3rd or 4th best player in a video game and getting upset about someone having another view on this meaningless topic and writing an angry youtube comment about it, makes you even more pathetic then ppl like me dat take time out of their life to argue with your kind :D
@@jackthomas3483 Oh ye you, sry for random ppl catching stray i am feeling myself^^ Well isnt dat a bit nit-picky. We kinda left out the part in the middle where geng won msi, summer regular split and barly lost in the finals, where T1 was almost lucky to make it to worlds. So Geng won the split t1 looked very good, won msi, dominated regular summersplit, 2nd in a season t1 look kinda ass and bummed at worlds(calling semis and losing to the tournament winners a bad performence is a bit harsh but we are talking about the booky favorites so I think its fair) T1 won regular split spring, lost finals to rival, lost msi, sucked in summer and won worlds in impressiv fashion. For me Geng edges it out, unless you rate worlds way higher. And i think the whole point of this was not to overrate worlds, in the process it might get slightly undervalued but isnt dat a refreshing change. So to direktly anwser your question, Spring finals where they where favorite comming in, MSI what as spring favorites was their title to lose. (i mean geng was favorite for msi but dats besides the point if t1 would have won spring finals they would have been so whatever) Ok i give you saying bad for getting second in korea and third at msi might be a bit harsh but we also not talking about any team, we are talking about the standing world champions dat dominated a split and then lost finals and the internation tournament after to the team we are comparing them too. Then summer was ruff. And worlds looked good. So a solid half of the time when they where supposed to win everything. GenG looked bad for 2 weeks. maybe 3 if you want to say losing finals to hle is damming.
it's sad what the show has become. Was an older fan of Monte and Dom, genuinely enjoyed their analysis and regional coverage Now every point/segment has devolved into shadowboxing some Reddit comment/group of fans they are annoyed at that turns into a vitroilic tirade Trying to get a general analysis of head to head, role vs role matchup in the finals abd suddenly I'm hit by "..THIS is why I Hate T1 fans" super annoying. If these fans are so stupid, why do y'all let them spoil your content quality?
What you get from winning spring: msi What you get from winning msi: worlds (riot want to raise the stakes of msi so they added this year, and the "stakes" is also worlds) What you get from winning summer : worlds What you get from winning ewc:wow that trophy is made from your opponents thats very cool What you get from winning worlds: worlds skin, mv(and we all know that s13 champions are LPK) Now i wonder why there is anyone thinks worlds isn't the most important or even the only important tournament in a year. Is sounds just like in NBA you tell me the regular season and the mid season cup is as important as playoffs and finals. There is no way.
💯💯 Worlds is the culmination of the League of Legends season. Every team wants to peak at Worlds. No one will remember who you beat in the first game of the year. But everyone will remember who kicked your ass in Worlds.

yeh, this narrative of trying to say msi is better than worlds is so salty... I understand if it's about analysing performances, but after T1 clutches and wins it all when it matters the most, there is the most eyes watching, the most money on the line, they still somehow it's a shame, Dom before finals was, if T1 actually wins this then I guess we're out of arguments... yet they still go on this salty line so hard the argument seems to be community overvalues worlds, but they are valuing it nearly at nothing, which to me seems much worse
BLG team of the year for…. - winning MickeyMousePL beating WBG and ChokES - spanked by GenG at MSI - humbled by T1 at EWC and worlds At least you can make the argument for GenG. Might as well call G2 the team of the year 🤡
Its super hard to say, but like you can make that same list out of every team, im thinking people want to put T1 in the team of the year which is like 🤡 this would go like: T1 team of the year for.... - Getting spanked on by almost every LCK playoff team this year - Getting spanked on by Geng - In MSI getting spanked on by BLG twice, first losing to them 3-1, and then 3-2 - Again getting spanked on by the whole LCK - Literally getting spanked on by DK💀 - Winning against KT as a last resort - Winning worlds (where T1 was super great, like they were mega good) GenG should be the team of the year, if you want to put T1 in there, might as well call DK the team of the year🤡

I mean yea it is the international tournament with the least competitive integrity due to the format, EWC and MSI are objectively better measures of a teams skill. But those tournaments, and forms of players, were then, and this is now.
@DrkKnightTWOM You could say anything you want about the format but you can't deny Worlds is by far the most important tournament of the year and it's not even close. 99% of teams would rather just win Worlds compared to winning both splits and Msi (and Ewc does not have a better format than Worlds )
@@DrkKnightTWOMwell apparently to most teams it’s harder like look at G2 got top 4 at msi but can’t even be top 8 at worlds. surely easier right? and isn’t it the format that makes worlds harder?

Their latest angle where they go, "You guys don't get it, Faker is the GOAT because he's actually shit the whole year, that's what makes him the GOAT when he performs once when it matters" is such a moronic take, lol. It's just pure unfiltered salt at this point that they cannot give Faker props for beating their narratives and try to cope with these underhanded compliments.
@@nufasniyamathulla6479 I mean, i am just a random fan on the internet but i would agree dat the fact dat faker had a ruff year, T1 did not look good coming into the tournament made the run dat much more impressiv. I am normally for faker just because i like to see goats play in any kind of competition, i wished he hadnt won this one so the conversation could go on. Beating 3 titel was near impossible and faker was most likly the goat of league even if he had lost the last 2 finals. 7 worlds finals and 3 titels could not have been beaten easily. 5???? I think is impossible to beat in a once per year tournament dat gets more volitaile with every season. But yes i think the fact dat T1 was not even in the conversation as more then a dark horse at best comming into the tournament, makes the narrativ about Faker being the Goat dat much stronger. And if you pause the world before worlds, faker himself would consider this a bad year, even more so if he would have lost to covy in the semis. This finals was close to Prime Faker, in a way this was more impressiv then prime faker. Winning when you are the best is almost buissness. They say they weigh worlds heavily in order to get T1 to 3rd place but the argument for G2 in top 5 is that they lost to T1, BLG, and HLE IN WORLDS? I don't follow league esports throughout the year but just some basic research (so correct me if im wrong) T1 is 1st in Worlds and EWC, 2nd in Spring, 3rd in MSI and Summer. BLG is 1st in Spring and Summer, 2nd in Worlds and MSI, Top 8 in EWC (Only 8 teams) GENG is 1st in Spring and MSI, 2nd in Summer, 3rd/4th in Worlds G2 is 1st in Spring and Summer, 4th in MSI and EWC, not even top 8 in Worlds Looking at BLG, T1, and GEN, they all have argument to be the best throughout BLG seems to be the most consistent. No international tournament 1st place, but consistently top domestically and perform well internationally GENG was as consistent but edging out against BLG by winning one international tournament even though BLG arguably perform better at Worlds T1 won 2 international tournament, and was Top 3 in MSI and domestically. Take out Worlds and EWC, and the only international tournament is MSI which T1 are 3rd. So what is the argument now? You happily use worlds to prove G2 is top 5 but get salty that T1 is 3rd only because of Worlds? It's okay if you don't think T1 is the best but don't take away achievements just to fit your narrative
I would say G2 being in top 5 really has to do with Chinese teams aside from BLG being kinda stinkers this year. G2 are clearly below GenG, BLG, T1, and HLE, but things get a bit sketchy with Flyquest, LNG, and Weibo. There's a high chance they were better than DK this year. While Weibo and LNG did get farther than G2 at worlds, there's definitely a world where G2 could beat them in a Bo5(G2 did beat WBG in Swiss). EU vs NA never happened at worlds and G2 never played a single NA team aside from EWC. FlyQuest got out of groups at worlds without beating a single KR/CN team(including DK), but inflated their value by pushing Gen.G to game 5. G2 is also relative to TES by beating them at MSI. There's a lot of unproven theories, but G2 being top 5 is not out of the question.
@@BlackDeathBlade Yeah its fine if people want to rank G2 as top 5. I think it's really hard to objectively say who is number 5. The main issue is how salty they are ranking T1 as top 5 because they "only won Worlds". If T1 lost to BLG, they would most likely rank G2 higher than T1 and T1 not even in top 5. But looking back, while T1 was struggling, their results wasn't so bad that they couldn't be in contention for top 5 throughout 2024. They say T1 fans are annoying because we focus on Worlds instead of looking throughout the year. Yet they hyper focus on the summer split that T1 didn't play as good (Still 3rd in playoffs btw) and use it as the sole reference that T1 played bad the whole year. Tldr the issue i have with them is they are bias while portraying themselves to be objective and mocking us "casual fans" that our opinion is just shallow and subjective.
@@KaiEn-q4k It is very weird that the T1 arguments are so wishy washy. For some reason they don't take into account that T1 had a very good spring split with T1 having a good playoffs and pushing GenG to game 5. Putting G2 above T1 in any avenue doesn't make any sense because G2 dominated a weak region and they have a losing H2H vs T1 overall. I don't get it either. Combined with the fact that LPL collectively was relatively weak, it's not hard to see why T1 would rank minimum 3rd by a decent margin. On average, it actually favors T1 so the mental gymnastics don't make any sense. T1's summer was rough, but LPL competition wasn't much better and that's the problem. It's funny because Dom ranked T1 before worlds in top 4 in spite of the entire summer split. The biggest irony is that even G2 was considered a sub-par team for the summer meta. I would say the biggest issue with Dom and Monte (also Thorin) is that they get sucked into the T1 fan narrative so hard that they often forget that they could just be "above them" by ignoring their nonsense. Their egos get so offended because they see this constantly and get triggered non-stop. They have the right to root against T1 for their bias, but the fan problem makes them forget accurate details on how well T1 actually played. Iunno how Monte/Dom forget in worlds 2023 that T1 became a good team by the time they played C9 and BLG. This year, T1's worlds performance was off the back of veteran experience and just being T1.
@BlackDeathBlade Yeah, I definitely agree with the points you say. Clearly, there are delusional T1 fans out there, but we should all strive to be better than them instead of matching them. We should be acknowledging the achievements of every team throughout the year instead of spending time putting other teams down. This Worlds was so fun to watch because so many team stepped up
@@KaiEn-q4k Idk about that. Saying G2 is a top 5 team when they looked hot garbage in the worst LEC season to date isn't a flex. G2 is closer top 10. Why do we have to compare to sports? Sports are clearly more taxing on the body. Double elim would take much more time. So you say fuck 2nd chances? Would you like the champions league to drop the home and away matches?
@DondonDavid-y9j no? Did i say that? Do i think it's much less taxing than contact sports? Yes. Do i think esports fatigue is more of a long term than short term problem? Yes. Do i think LOL pros could play 5 Bo5 in a week without considerable performance loss? Yes.
The champions league has an audience of around 450 million. The World Cup has an audience of 1.5 billion around 4 times as much as the champions league. Notice how the World Cup also has no second chance making it the hardest and most decorated trophy. Why do you think Ronaldo who has won 5 champions leagues constantly cry’s about the world cups. It’s the elite of elite trophy just like worlds no format change needed apart from maybe they could have less time before b05
@@BigBlackCombo real bad arguments when we are talking about player skill objectively. Yes its a big dream to bring a world cup to your country, but that depends on where you are born and you get a chance every 4 years. How many people are watching should not be an indication of skill at the tournament. Not wanting a change for worlds format is fine, the stakes bring a certain hype, but i would never trade that for having more chances for faker to make plays like in game 4 and 5 or to give the meta a chance to evolve even more and give us the mindgames that come with rematches. To each their own, but if anyone shares your opinion i just feel like you guys dont watch for good league of legends but for the hype.
They always talked about the format being bad. The problem is people like you are too busy ignoring everything unless it's T1. You live and breathe in your own bubble.

Wasn't BLG pretty much G2 in LPL? LPL was a one team region this year. Throughout the year, the top 4 teams have been GenG, BLG, T1, and HLE. None of the LPL teams were good enough to break into top 4. TES, the 2nd best LPL team was arguably only the same level as G2. I'd rate BLG's year much lower just because their competition throughout the year was worse. And whenever they went up against better competition at MSI, EWC, and Worlds, they couldn't pull through. Hell, we can barely say they'll beat GenG at Worlds if they didn't lose to T1.
Who's agreeing with your delusion dom? 1:44:24 Dgon got it right, it literally like champions league, it brings all the team from different regions together in a fiery clash. What is this cope take that the tournament breaking esport records is suddenly bad lol? jesus salt much? so awkward as the others clearly disagree with him but he kept ranting lol. Real madrid can lose la liga, but go ahead to win UCL and every football fan will give madrid their cap, thats how it is bro. The tournament is literally peak clash of titans.
The difference is that 99% of football fans value their domestic league and don’t say “Only Champions League matters”. Madrid fans want Ancelotti gone because they are loosing the league to Barca. Pep Guardiola always says his primary goal is to win the premier league. The champions league is the most important, but all other competition is also valued and respected. In league T1 fans cope that only worlds matters to justify their bad domestic results

@ just saying would people watch pro if they won every single tournament? No. It would get old pretty quickly. People love skt because of the story. They basically make it to every single finals of every tournament. The best team does not always win. They are always there though.
@ I’m saying at the biggest tournament they always play at the highest level. Every single year. They play better than any other tournament.. there is a reason why…
What if Knight won the last 2 Worlds? What if Faker won 2017, 2021, 2022? It's easy to make all these hypotheticals but facts are they both weren't good enough to win in those years.
World grown into place where people care only about the results and as much as some can argue that winning splits and MSI is result, the most prestige result is winning Worlds. As much as you can argue that T1 was overall trash for majority of the year (they weren't that bad but for the sake of argument) they won the most prestige tournament of the year which is Worlds and considering how bad they were all year long, just like Monte said, it makes their win even more miraculous. Of course there is also that part of the community (majority in fact) that watch only Worlds for the simple fact this is the most prestige tournament of the year. Heck, players themselves are striving for winning Worlds as their ultimate achievement. And yet, you sit here as group of 4, telling everyone that "yeah, they won Worlds, who cares, Chovy the best because he was the best everywhere except in the most prestige tournament which winning is his last and ultimate achievement to have". I do understand that whole year should matter but what you doing by trying to discredit Worlds is just the other side of the same coin. People care only about Worlds and you make it sounds like you care about everything but Worlds. And to me at least, your arguments are excellent, up untill you start talking about T1 players, then you are try to make every possible excuse to make T1 winning Worlds less important, less prestige, you start blaming the format, and then your previous arguments are losing credibility. Which is even showed here (1:39:15) Monte says "Faker deserve MVP for the Worlds finals" and then everyone forgets about Faker because who gives a shit, let's talk about players that didn't make Worlds or MSI or both, that got kicked in Swiss. You are about to write a poem how amazing Chovy is. Lastly... League season is a marathon, and like in marathon, nobody cares if you were in the middle of the pack for the whole run if you came out first on the finish line. If Chovy is that amazing, why he had his FIRST international win with GenG on MSI this year? And he wasn't surrounded with only bad players either for all his time in GenG. But hey, let's completly ignore Faker's achievements despite injury because he sucked in regular season and praise other players ONLY because of their regular season. That's kinda pathetic.
its not that heavy worlds weighted to have t1 third its 2 lck spring , top 3 msi, top 3 lck summer, top 1 worlds, top 1 ewc, their direct competition is hanwa who was 3rd lck spring no msi, 1st lck summer and top 8 worlds, from lpl it would be top who was 2nd lpl spring, 5th msi, 2nd ewc, 3rd lpl summer, and top 8 worlds losing to t1 in bo5. even though g2 has a ton of 1sts u take their 4th at msi and not getting out of swiss at worlds you cant really have them above t1 either. especially when emea is weak as a region. Also when they won emea they looked ropey in some series too
My take: LFN is using the GOAT player/roster narrative to avoid giving props to how good T1/T1 players are right now. Example 1: Faker absolutely pops off and has a career defining Worlds performance. Yeah guys he's the GOAT for that but Worlds doesn't count. He's still behind Chovy, Knight, Zeka, BDD, and Caps for this year as a whole. Example 2: ZOFGK makes 3rd finals in a row and wins back to back Worlds. Yeah guys this is the GOAT roster, but technically they are only the 4th best roster this year behind BLG, GenG, and HLE. (Same with rating JDG, GenG, BLG over T1 last year btw)
is becouse this guys are fk insane, how in the world you can put T1 in like 4th position when they won the wolds championship this year, and they reach 3 worlds final consecutive
did any of them actually acknowledge ZOFGK as the GOAT roster? Knowing what they value when they rank greatest players and rosters, I'd have thought they would have formed arguments against it.
@@sadmax2838 I don't think they brought it up on a show, but I'm pretty sure IWD at least mentioned it after the finals co-stream. At this point everyone has to acknowledge them as the GOAT roster between their consistent top finishes and accolades. I'm just saying these guys would acknowledge it if they had to, then go on to say: but they're not the best team right now, and they were never the team with the highest peak ever, even though we've seen them out-clutch and beat teams at their peaks 2 years in a row now.
Like, I say this a lot, but the point they are making is that T1 might have the highest peaks of any roster, but their average performance this year is not as good as gen g or BLG. BLG won 2 splits, and was second at MSI and worlds. Gen g won a split and MSI, and came second in the other split and 3/4 at worlds. T1 came what, 3rd and 4th in splits, erd at MSI, and first at worlds. They weren't the best all year.
@@Dardobul yeah but in the most important competition they won, AND to be Worlds champions they literally destroy geng in Semis AND won against the best team from china, so they are way better at the end of the year, becouse when matter most they won, And that's the important thing here, doesn't matter if you won lck or lol, if you cant win Worlds you cant be considered the best team of the year

Good luck for next year boys.
totally agree with everything, even as someone who agrees that T1 fans can be toxic this episode was mostly unwatchable because they trip over logic sometimes (especially the clutch part) to one-up whoever they are mad at
I like your take on this and totally agree that the clutch factor should be part of the metric. Who's your top 5 for every role anyway?
Just look at other sports like NBA, NFL etc. who gives a shit if you don't perform in regular season as along as you make it to playoffs and clutch it? The superstars are those who get it done when it matters. For example Keria was sooo far ahead of the other supports at worlds, I really couldnt care less if he inted some lckr regular season games
@@DerWinkler does NBA give out "Champions" titles like lol summer and spring season? I also don't remember NBA having an msi. We can't compare traditional sports to Esports since they have different structures.
Yea I don’t understand how Bin played amazingly in the finals, and if you look at his Jax throughout the tournament he had a large amount of team fights where he played poorly. At the very least he didn’t show he was one of the best players in the world at all

But they can't, because they lost.
also worlds skins beats the nonexistent rewards from other tournaments
These storylines are bult through the year, if BLG is shit all year no one gets hyper for finals. Its not good to ignore 90% of the year just to push a narrative. The average T1 fan would not say GENG is the beast team in the world if they won everything else outside of worlds. No one was saying that DRx was the beast team in the world, T1 was

When dom says "Faker just had the opportunity to be clutch, and other players dont get that opportunity"
He doesnt understand that the greats MAKE their own opportunity.
Its not ok to do "what he was supposed to do" like Bin. if you want to be great you see the opportunity that no one else sees OR act upon the moment and carry your team on your back
The coping defensive mechanism of Dom is kicking in too hard
Ya especially the Sylas stealing Rakan ult trapping BLG. No other players than faker would make that ballsy move. Not even Chovy nor Knight

@skrattaoppar9753 Dom just always on some cope , if they played best of 1000 they would win so they the best team xD
league is a lot more like the NFL than the NBA.

It's exactly like the Olympics that Dgon brought up. Why are the Olympics important then and celebrated so much compared to every other tournament?
@@user-ck6xv2uk2d Winning Worlds would be even more prestige if the format was better :D
Dats kinda the point. It does matter and all teams want to win it most, but the system is kinda rigged against them :D
And yes it matters LESS because of the format but because we dont have anything even remotly close in prestige, it still matters the most.

So calling him the best player is somewhat unfair because i think Zeus is way more versatile and the better player in a teamplay oriented game. He's talking about the games w/l record. That's 18-0 had a lot of 2-1s.
@@Dfelder261 ah ok make sense, didn't know that about geng. ty so much
Still t1 has the best regular season my friend not gen g

Gen g won against t1 at world's I guess lollll
- Spring: Despite getting ddos T1 end up beating HLE in rematch and qualify for MSI losing to GenG 2:3
- MSI and EWC: HLE cannot perform as they did not qualify
- Summer: HLE performs better including playoffs
- Worlds: HLE was a joke. End up getting smacked by GenG needing a miracle team fight to eek a win. Look horrendous vs FLY that all LCK teams basically wrote them off. Get smacked by BLG because turns out people who were merchant for a certain meta
In total: HLE out performed T1 in Summer.

@@EnvoyoftheEnd they did look really rough summer tho. They got knocked out by damwon for third seed and then almost knocked out by kt.
You can't know what never happened. ;)
i dont think people fridge oner when t1 does badly as much as dom says; this was maybe true last year, when the criticism was valid and oner's pathing was very strange and he ignored botlane. in summer everyone said he was their best player despite that one hle series where he got washed by peanut.
This podcast is always quick to point out the failings of other riot casters, but aren't willing to see how their podcast is becoming dull and unoriginal with the content produced.
the biggest tournament of the year should weigh more than domestic titles. even players would agree with that.
dont take them too seriously these guys are just salty imagine an LPL won they would say they are the best team ever, thats how delusional they are

I havnt watched much lol this year and for me viper is always the best adc ever so the adc rankings are wrong anyways :D
And playing ADC for one of the best teames in the world makes the job a lot easier, dats why viper is so insane when he played flawless adc with meh teammates all those years after his worlds win.
Anyways i stop my random nonsense now :D
PS.: The difference between 3rd and 5th or 7th best player in role x are so fine margins anyways and just opinons to listen to, you have all the right to disagree and consider peyz better then they do but blaming them for their opinion just because you disagree on a point seems kinda nit-picky on your end aswell :D
soo now i stop for real, playing 70 min dota games now, my new lifesink :O^^
If GenG wins it's because of Chovy, and if they lose it's because of Peyz, that's people's narratives. Damned be the facts that he outshined Chovy several times during the year, and arguably has a far better track record.
@@sneakycuack1822 well chovy has been playing clean up for GenG too

@@sneakycuack1822 Chovy is also a clean up player by that logic. If anything Peyz with Lehends forced more plays than Chovy who was power farming sidelanes on ADCs or Asol to clean up fights later. Peyz was the best LCK ADC in Spring, in Summer Viper was better.
Because you seem to want the hate comments:
I agree with T1 as the third best team this year, but I don't think that it is especially close or an evaluation that overly focuses on Worlds.

And their is 2 other big prestige tournaments a year with double bracket and a robust invite system.

doesnt matter if you loose 20 games, if you won world title is over everything, the thing is for chovy mostly why been soo dominant and in worlds cant make it happen, is insane everyone will remember when chovy was in his prime, faker won 2 worlds championship, thats insane
"Get to semis for viewership, lose in a crazy best of 5 to covy"
If you take covys POV is also kinda ruff no?
Worlds i dont argue with, how could you, also I like the Worlds Faker > Faker typo, because dat kinda was what it came down too ^^^
So if you say spring as individuals zika = faker , msl i dont know, wait i check, well i mean zika wasnt at msi so for me dats still spring, lets say spring Zika > Faker and because faker got to msi and looked alright we make Sping is equalish, Summer Zika wins, and worlds goes to faker.
@@jackthomas3483 Oh ye you, sry for random ppl catching stray i am feeling myself^^
Well isnt dat a bit nit-picky. We kinda left out the part in the middle where geng won msi, summer regular split and barly lost in the finals, where T1 was almost lucky to make it to worlds.
So Geng won the split t1 looked very good, won msi, dominated regular summersplit, 2nd in a season t1 look kinda ass and bummed at worlds(calling semis and losing to the tournament winners a bad performence is a bit harsh but we are talking about the booky favorites so I think its fair)
T1 won regular split spring, lost finals to rival, lost msi, sucked in summer and won worlds in impressiv fashion.
(i mean geng was favorite for msi but dats besides the point if t1 would have won spring finals they would have been so whatever)
Ok i give you saying bad for getting second in korea and third at msi might be a bit harsh but we also not talking about any team, we are talking about the standing world champions dat dominated a split and then lost finals and the internation tournament after to the team we are comparing them too. Then summer was ruff. And worlds looked good. So a solid half of the time when they where supposed to win everything. GenG looked bad for 2 weeks. maybe 3 if you want to say losing finals to hle is damming.

I understand if it's about analysing performances, but after T1 clutches and wins it all when it matters the most, there is the most eyes watching, the most money on the line, they still somehow
it's a shame, Dom before finals was, if T1 actually wins this then I guess we're out of arguments... yet they still go on this salty line so hard
the argument seems to be community overvalues worlds, but they are valuing it nearly at nothing, which to me seems much worse
Thats like saying that only think that matters in football is champions league. Which would be a brainrot take.

- spanked by GenG at MSI
- humbled by T1 at EWC and worlds

Its super hard to say, but like you can make that same list out of every team, im thinking people want to put T1 in the team of the year which is like 🤡
this would go like:
T1 team of the year for....
- Getting spanked on by almost every LCK playoff team this year
- Getting spanked on by Geng
- In MSI getting spanked on by BLG twice, first losing to them 3-1, and then 3-2
- Again getting spanked on by the whole LCK
- Literally getting spanked on by DK💀

Because it cost 16 milion lol, even if they'd won the team would need to be disbanded.

They say they weigh worlds heavily in order to get T1 to 3rd place but the argument for G2 in top 5 is that they lost to T1, BLG, and HLE IN WORLDS? I don't follow league esports throughout the year but just some basic research (so correct me if im wrong)
T1 is 1st in Worlds and EWC, 2nd in Spring, 3rd in MSI and Summer.
BLG is 1st in Spring and Summer, 2nd in Worlds and MSI, Top 8 in EWC (Only 8 teams)
GENG is 1st in Spring and MSI, 2nd in Summer, 3rd/4th in Worlds
G2 is 1st in Spring and Summer, 4th in MSI and EWC, not even top 8 in Worlds
Looking at BLG, T1, and GEN, they all have argument to be the best throughout
BLG seems to be the most consistent. No international tournament 1st place, but consistently top domestically and perform well internationally
GENG was as consistent but edging out against BLG by winning one international tournament even though BLG arguably perform better at Worlds
T1 won 2 international tournament, and was Top 3 in MSI and domestically.
Very fun episode. Thx for a great year and gz to Faker for winning the Faker of the year award! 🎉
Also when they won emea they looked ropey in some series too
Everyone here except DGON just flaming faker and T1 . Can't wait for Faker to retire and T1 to disban so that they can see importance
@@Dardobul yeah but in the most important competition they won, AND to be Worlds champions they literally destroy geng in Semis AND won against the best team from china, so they are way better at the end of the year, becouse when matter most they won, And that's the important thing here, doesn't matter if you won lck or lol, if you cant win Worlds you cant be considered the best team of the year
Would love a clips compilation of roster rumors, does one exist anywhere? Or just wait till more are confirmed?
