I discovered your channel today. I am so glad I did. Not only did your hilarious video lift my low spirits, but I thought I was the only person in the world who didn’t like Haunting of Hill House. I feel happy and validated. Lol. ❤️
Awww thank you so much, Wendy! This means a lot to me. So glad I could make you smile. 😊 And I'm also happy to know I'm not the only one who didn't LOVE Hill House. So thank you! 😁
Thank you for this video it needed it essp after a weird day my guinea pig is sick and I spilled almond milk all over me lol yeah... Its been one of those days but Thank you lady!
Oh nooo! I truly hope your guinea pig is okay! And in the mean time I'm glad to know that I could put a smile on your face. Sending much love to you and your guinea pig! 🖤
😂 so funny! Did I read the same book? is exactly what I ask myself when I also have such a different opinion on a book that everybody loves but me. I feel like some people do not read horror and this mystery thrillers with some spooky/horror elements are what does it for them when it comes to the atmosphere and the creepy vibes and that is why it is so scary for them.
Hahaha! I'm glad you can relate, Kasha! And I am definitely learning that people who don't normally read horror are easily impressed. I, on the other hand... 🧐😄
@@NakiasHideaway Hahaha yeah for me it is really hard to get scared with a book. I can appreciate the horror and see the horror elements but it is not going to have the same impact it has on others. The same goes for movies. I have just seen too many horror movies 😂
Interesting! I haven’t read the haunting of hill house but I watched the show and really loved it. You might appreciate that more. There is definitely some spooky scenes in it.
I haven't read any of these yet. I have the Sun Down Motel, but haven't read it yet. I felt the same way about "The Younger Wife"....all the high reviews. I was like.....I must have bought a different book...cause honey....lolol. And then there were very low reviews of "Insomnia" by Sarah Pinborough....and I absolutely LOVED it! 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
My favourite line is that your telling people that there smoking crack with their five stars predictions love you and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your family friend John xxxx
Lol thanks for the laughs. I don't really watch many Booktube channels anymore (except some horror channels) because I find a lot of them to be sort of annoying, but I'm glad I stumbled across this channel.
Mel: Yes, I enjoyed this very much. Personally I had to DNF the Shirley Jackson for slowness. I did think the Sun Down Motel was ok 3 stars, except I didn't like the mirroring of the first and second villain. I kind of wanted to be surprised.. I would read one of her books again. Thank you, this video was fun.
🌻 Fab vid. I did not enjoy Horrorstor as much as I thought I would either. I'm not sure if Grady Hendrix is for me. Definitely not the vampire one as that does not sound like my thing but maybe We sold our souls (mainly coz Alex the bookubus liked it). I really liked The sundown motel because I liked the mystery and went into it thinking family drama...not horror 😂 As a mystery it's decent, as a horror no!
Thank you, Lisa G! And yeah I'm with you as far as Grady Hendrix. I think I'll give him one more chance. We Sold Out Souls does sound good though. Glad you enjoyed The Sun Down Motel! A lot of people did. It's just not my type of thriller/mystery so I would've skipped it had I known that was what I was getting.
I thought Hill House was SO dreadful boring! THE best haunted house book that This one ripped off: 'The Legend of Hell House' by Matheson! Nakia if you have not read it yet.....Listen to it! SO scary!!! And a classic. And, @3:00 i was DYING laughing! Good for you. Plus I cannot STAND Graham Jones OR Hendrix as writers!!! NOT scary at all.....and they never are IMO. Richard
Hey, Richard! I'm so glad you agree about Hill House. I know so many do not. And I still plan to give Hendrix another chance... Graham Jones I'm not so sure about. 🙄😄 Thanks so much for stopping by!
This is why I take reviewers and booktubers’ recommendations with a grain of salt. We all have different tastes, and what works for you may not work for me, and vice versa. I personally liked both “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, and “The Sundown Motel” but agree with you on Horrorstor.
I loved The Haunting but that over the top reviews had me laughing. Like tone it down English majors. I'm a sucker for all reviews. I read bad and good when I finish a book, whether I loved or hated it. Awesome video (as always).
This was fun. So glad I watched this and your Sun Down Hotel review because I really thought it was a creepy horror book. Complete agrees with you on HorrorStor, was not a fan.
Thank you, Tammie Gipson! 😊 And yeah I wish someone had warned me beforehand! 😄 Have you read anything else by Grady Hendrix yet? Horrorstor turned me off so much that I've been reluctant to pick up anything else by him.
I read Southern Guide to Slaying Vampires. I’m in the minority but a little too gruesome for me and so slow in the beginning. I struggle with slow burns. I want d to see what all the hype was and finished it on audio. I hear he is really graphic so he might not be my cup of tea. 😬
@@tammiegipson8870 I love hearing about other readers who aren't into all the graphic content like me. Hearing about the sexual assault in Southern Guide made me not want to read it. But I'm thinking about doing a Try A Chapter video where I try his other books. We'll see.
I don't think I have that many 5 star horror books, Simply Tiffany V, but I'll take a look. 😉 I do have my Favorite Horror Books video that you can check out though.
“ I’d rather not know why you’re doing what you’re doing.” 😂 I think that about people everyday!🤣

Thank you, halko! I'm always shocked when I just didn't enjoy a book at all and someone else LOVED IT. 😨😄

It's so funny when it happens that way, Bianca! Like all art, books are subjective, and it's so fun to hear everyone's different opinions. 😁
That was fun! Yes, please do it again. By the way is that little stripe from gremlins on your desktop? 🌻🌻
Thank you, Suzanne! And they just have the Gremlin listed as "Flashing Gremlin." 😄

Girl. I DNF’ed The Haunting of Hill House myself. 179 pages into the book and there was NOTHING going on. And I mean absolutely nothing 😂🤣🤣
Hahaha! I don't blame you, Simply Tiffany V! I don't know what kept me going cause it definitely should have been a DNF for me. 😳😁

Simply Tiffany V, I just checked and I only have one 5 star horror book. It's a sci-fi horror so I'm not even sure it counts. 🤭
