The reason it is so good is, the camera, the lighting, the makeup is modern. It's like now. It's not like 80s and earlier with long hair, oily face, reflection of the light on the face. The soundtrack is superb. The appropriate and just enough sounds of the truck hitting the wall, squealing of tires, flapping of the tire. The superb editing which shows the shopping cart coming towards the camera and immediately the camera turns to show the front of the truck which is coming behind, where the cart goes under the truck. No overdo or exazaration. Everything is just right. Brilliant work.
@@tnetroP exactly, the reason I like this film so much has nothing to do with the CGIs, which anyone with a computer and some basic skills could probably produce now.

This movie was almost 100 years ahead of it's time, even today's ultra extraordinary picture graphics will not have potential to make that kind of movie which was made in late nineties, simply incredible James Cameron & his company.

Robert Patrick did a wonderful villainous role in T2. Arnold was the villain in the first original Terminator but changed over to be the protagonist in T2. These scene reminds a bit of the mission Fame or Shame in GTA 5.
no way as a teen in 1991 would you be lamenting on watching a 1961 movie and how amazing it was - but here we are in 2021 lamenting the amazing moves in the past - what is wrong with hollywood?

3:41 The very first hard encounter with the T-1000 begins with the compression and explosion of the truck. The T-1000 comes out after that without any damage. T1 ends with a truck explosion and a hydraulic press. It took a movie to destroy one robot. Cameron perfectly shows us at the very beginning of T2 how dangerous the T-1000 is
Aye, but in the T-800's defence, the T-1000 is more efficient because of its social and communication skills, being able to blend in. Therefore, it didn't have to duke it out with a police station full of police, and then someone throwing home made pipe bombs at it 😅😝 It would be bloody interesting to see how the T-1000 would have handled going into a police station to get Sarah or John Connor though. We got a good glimpse at how effective it infiltrates like a chameleon when he goes into the psychiatric clinic 😉
