OKAY, I have a headcanon. It's kind of a complicated one, but hear me out. If Joxter really did raise Snufkin, and then abandon him, that would actually explain his personality and behavior quite a bit. After Joxter abandoned him, he created a mantra for himself: "You'll never truly be free if you're too attached to someone." That is why he travels often, because he constantly fears that if he gets too close to someone he will be abandoned again. That is why his friendship with Moomintroll is so unique. But I believe that is also why he leaves every winter: even though he craves that interaction, he worries that he will eventually be abandoned, so he leaves every winter, that way he reminds himself not to get too close. I think this is also why he has social anxiety, because social anxiety stems from rejection. Is any of it healthy? No. Could Moomintroll help him through it? Yeah. And I think his friendship with Moomintroll could be very healing, if he were to allow him to. Kind of like many who are struggling with addiction or mental illness, they hesitate to get help or open up to those around them, partially because they are scared of the unknown, but also because that means revealing their brokeness. Maybe he will someday. So that's my two cents on it. :)

As soon as the singer said "My Sweet Love, won't you pull me through? Everywhere I look I catch a glimpse of you.", I had to run outside because I couldn't take being reminded of this video. That's how emotionally intense this video is.

Joxter was a criminal and, well, he does criminal things, wOw But some of them are to survive, like stealing carrots etc He used to bring his son to everything he were going to be and do, like stealing things, gambling... He really cares about his son, but now that he is a wanted criminal, people more and more are trying to chase him, to the point that some people were trying to shoot at him, leaving snufkin really scared. It would be too dangerous to keep his son with him. So, in a Night, he finds a basket, puts his son in it, and unfortunately, Snufkin wakes up. Joxter knew that things weren't supposed to be this way, but he knew that if it comes to keep his son alive, he would do anything, even if this means abandoning his son to his safety. I don't know why people headcanon Joxter as a terrible dad, we have nothing that proves this, and I don't think that's what Tove planned to him
