I think it's important to stick to stocks that are immune to economic policies. I'm looking at NVIDIA and other AI stocks. It seems AI is the trajectory most companies are taking, including even established FAANG. Maybe there are other recommendations?
I bought into NVIDIA around September because my financial advisor recommended it to me. She said the company is selling shovels in a gold rush. It accounted for almost 80% of my market return this year.

As a retired CAL FIRE Fire Captain/Paramedic I have done more for the state of California and its citizens than Governor Newsome has and I am proud to have bled pride and spit integrity all over this state for years!

I left riverside, cali like 6 months before the pandemic happened. Moved back to my parents in downingtown, pennsylvania. Bought a broken down $99k house for $4000 down at 2.1%. Its now worth $230k and that doesnt include the $27k of improvements i put into it (waiting to get it appraised again).
I think you missed the punch on this one. I expect the pendulum to start swinging back to affordability in california over the next year or two. Ppl have had enough and its election time.

After all the rain I'm quite certain CA's roads will now rank 50th instead of 48th in the nation despite all the exorbitant gas taxes and fees. I've had to replace tires with plenty of life left in them because the rain conceals the humongous potholes, especially at night. Those tires are taxed large too.
CA is a goose that lays golden eggs but the majority of voters insist on stomping on it.
California use to be the fourth largest economy and was big in manufacturing and agriculture and now 90 percent of manufacturing is gone and agriculture is half what it use to be
