I feel like what this deck is missing is a little Magik . . . in the past, for me, Mr. Negative has felt strongest with Magik. She just does so much with the extra draw, the extra plays, etc. Maybe the swaps would be . . . Darkhawk out, Magik in? And then Swap Zabu for psylocke, so that you can ramp on turn four into a five drop, too?
I don't have Negative so I can't say for sure but I feel like Adam Warlock would be the card to drop. There were so many times in this video where he was an awkward card to play, he competes with so much and he usually drew cards before they were inverted which is exactly what you don't want to happen.
@@PenitusVox if he wasn't using bast warlock would be the correct cut but from experience ironheart is the cut as without Wong she adds less then most of the 5/6 cost negative targets (blue marvel takes her lunch money even without being free and can be another mystique target). Negative's real problem is being a "do or die" card with no real wiggle room for alternative plays.
I made a ran a similar decklist right after your previous video dropped. Couple different choices though - 1. Psylock (to potentially hit Mister Negative earlier) reaaaaaly helps when you get this combo early 2. Wong - good negative target and also if you have it down, hit monkey goes off (weak to cosmo of course and you're signaling by playing it) 3. I don't have a darkhawk cause I'm poor, but I did just throw in the arnim zola for meme value. 4. Go full meme by throwing in a morph as well
I had a great mister negative game the other day. I got peak turn 2 used my jubilee pulled mister negative with my jubilee and just rolled through the game until my opponent retreated. It was great, I snapped as soon as I got the mister negative turn 2 got me 4 juicy cubes
@@jade_is_tired no point in using knull with negative. Only works if you're playing against a destroy deck or running arnin which is not an optimized list. Knull is only useful in Galactus, most honest destroy decks don't really have a good way to use knull
The first deck I made was very similar to this deck but I focused more on the hit monkey and less on the other negative synergy cards which actually worked to get me climb like 20 ranks up already.
I feel like if you are playing Sera and arent playing Wong or 3+ 4 drops, I feel Psylocke's ability to accelerate a Sera is worth more than Zabu for giving you a fighting chance with non Negative draws.
Consider swapping out Sera and Darkhawk for Magik and Wong, and you can delay the game and double down on the reveals, including Hit Monkey. Allows a little more consistency too.
Would this deck work better if you swapped serra for Jane foster so when you negative you draw all your zero cost cards on 5 and then have a huge turn 6
Problem is Jane Foster is a dead card if you don't draw her before Mr.Negative. It makes it even less consistent than it normally is, and just makes the big high wins win more
Idk why people use dark hawk in a negative deck. Just doesn’t make sense to me. You get WAY more value with Zola or either Wong or both. Plus Zola and Wong are arguably the best combination for hit monkey. His power gets insane playing Wong mystique monkey then Zola

Unless you are just saying Killmonger to clear up cards played alongside him, which may or may not work depending on the deck. It seems most decks are using discounts to MAKE cards cost 1 to play with him, rather than flooding 1 cost cards themselves, which Killmonger will not kill.
They're releasing alot of best in slot cards it seems. There response to "balancing" and maintaining the power of low cost cards is pretty appawling. Kitty Pryde essentially is a sunspot if you can float, which you're inevitably going to do anyway since sunspot is included in decks that don't have a perfect curve. However, you can move her, or replay her (which gives already incredibly efficient cards like angela and bishop even more power) and she gets +2 power. Sure, she will cost the same as a sunspot, 2 energy for 2 power, but past the initial two plays she becomes a 3;4, a 4;6, those are both premium statlines if you look at it in the grand scheme of things. She is basically a direct upgrade from sunspot, who is already an all rounder best in slot 1 cost. So versatile and makes curve not so necessary. Hit monkey is essentially best in slot as well in ALOT of archetypes, espeically as opposed to the other general cards they're bringing out. By general I mean you can slot him into most things and it will feel good. Jeff the shark for instance, would be one of these cards. I doubt he will see much play in anything bar a control deck, and even then that archetype is jam packed. Hit monkey though, can go into sera, zabu, on reveal with wong, zoo, negative, thanos. It's absurd. The only counter would be cosmo or sandman, which have some luck involved and is not guaranteed. And in case for sandman, these decks could just run enchantress, wouldn't be hard if they had zabu. It seems like this will be the meta, sandman will rise, and then enchantress will come and ruin that entire chain, with nothing to do about it.

Ever a world where you trade Adam Warlock for Jane Foster? It's silly with Bast, yeah, but if you get a Jane Foster down after a Mister Negative, you're winning the game pretty much no matter what, regardless of her actual power, and she solves the problem of losing Adams card draw. Also means your Hit Monkey will always be cracked on the last turn. I guess if you draw her AFTER negative you feel pretty bad, but Sera helps you make big turn 6 plays even without good Negative cards. So I get Adam is technically safer, but if you're running a Mr. Negative deck, you're already going for the high roll, might as well make the high roll as unbeatable as possible.
I am a fan of Jane in Negative decks. I think the power spike she provides allows you to Snap with a lot of confidence. I didn't use her in this list because we went for Sera for better Hit Monkey lines on 6, and they're both 5 drops competing against one another.
I appreciate the inclusion of the deck totally whiffing and retreating by turn 4. Part of the experience!

Issue is they will retreat after you play Foster. You play negative for 4-8 cube steals ideally
