    Very cool for creating a framework that you can then go and take to the next level. Nice work peeps, if writer's block strikes I'll pick up a copy for sure.

    This is so amazing and truly revolutionary, insane !
    Still, like to see a neat integration solution within Reaper.
    I don't like switching between 2 programs .. just my 2 cents...
    Again, besides this , amazing job !!

      +Rob van Hees I think no need to switch between two programs you can setup Sundog as 1 controller and record them in Reaper as a controller

      Yes, I want to create some new tutorials soon! No concrete plans yet, but I want to speak both about Sundog techniques and general electronic songwriting topics then.

    Hello, how to make the # stopped note function on ableton midi clip? Is this a side chaining or just volume automation? By the way very useful tutorial! Thanks

    so far so good but I cannot find the option on edit about follow chord with this instrument on Ableton

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  7 років тому +1

      The "chord follow" option is a feature of Sundog, not of Ableton Live. You can read more about "chord follow" here: www.feelyoursound.com/sundog-manual/#common_tasks
      The setup guide to connect Sundog to Ableton can be found here:

    hi, i just wanted ask how do you select a sound sound you want for a specific channel? And i would like to know where you got your sounds. +feelyoursoundHQ

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  8 років тому +4

      Hi :). Connecting a Sundog channel to an Ableton Live channel is described in this setup guide: www.feelyoursound.com/sundog-with-ableton-live/. Regarding sounds and sound choice: Usually I simply listen to a few genre classics and try to find out how the instruments work. Are they percussive? How are they played? I try to analyze the basses, pads, background instruments, and leads separetely. Then I skip through the preset libraries of Ableton and my preferred VSTs (Sylenth1, Dune 2, Hive) to find sounds that I like. Using FX comes after that. Sooo... I guess this isn't a very direct answer, but this is how I work ;). Cheers, Hauke

    Awesome plugin! Does this work with Logic Pro?

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  7 років тому +1

      Thanks :)! Sundog works as a standalone software (so it's not a plugin). You can connect it to Logic Pro X with a virtual MIDI cable. A setup guide can be found at feelyoursound.com/sundog/

    Can you explain how you made the pluck sound that's playing the melody, please?

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  8 років тому

      +Stanimir Bozhilov I layered some plucks that are shipped with Sylenth1 and Dune 2. Generally I try to combine sounds that each have strengths at different frequencies. Pluck 1 might be good for the mids, and pluck 2 can add some higher frequency details. This technique is also interesting to widen the stereo field a bit.

      Thanks a lot for the good answer. And one more question: What soundwaves did you use to make these plucks?

    What is the bass :) ? amazing !

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  8 років тому +1

      +SIROKO It's the BS Booka preset from Sylenth1 (bank 2). But I used a lowpass filter to get rid of the higher frequencies, applied some sidechain compression from the bassdrum, and boosted the low end a bit :).

    is it impossible to play the wrong note?

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  8 років тому +1

      Let's put it this way: Sundog makes it way easier to play harmonic melodies. Especially if you only use chord notes (source mode: "Chord Notes"). If you use scale notes, however, some notes might sound more dissonant than others. For Tropical House this can be undesired, so simply try other notes instead (or use the "Chord Notes" mode). For other genres these notes might be perfectly fine, because they add tension to the song - which is a nice thing as well ;).

      I'm looking to do soulful house and garage and I'm quite interested in this.

    • @feelyoursoundHQ
      @feelyoursoundHQ  8 років тому

      Yeah, Sundog should work for that :). Take a look at the chords page and test some of the four note chords (especially the 7th in the green row). I recommend a Minor scale for soulful genres, but you can also try others of course.

    the voicing sounds terrible! only those who are tone deaf would actually implement such muddy voicing in their tracks

    • @brianmi40
      @brianmi40 4 роки тому

      Easily fixed, they have videos where they show how to alter the chord voicings as desired. Seems like a pretty good and fast idea generator.
