The feeling of remembering old friendships that at one time you thought would last forever. You never know if you'll ever see some of those people again but you hold on as long as you can to those feelings when they come up every now and again. The beat drives you back to into your present life and towards your future, the major key feels different it is your hope that if you let go of the past more and more you will be able to create some memorable experiences like that with people again

He perhaps sings what we all feel but have never been able to express.

It's amazing, at the beginning you can hear the people laughing and talking, and just a few seconds after he starts this amazing performance, everybody's just quiet and silent.

I always come back to this version. His vocals when the band kicks in are so powerful backed by the heavily chorused vocoder. The beat is also just so laid back yet driving somehow. This song just embodies the word "melancholy" in a beautiful, detached way.

His debut album may just be a classic, a monumental piece of electronic music that hopefully will shape albums that come after it. It's already had a profound effect on both electronic music, R&B and hip-hop; Drake, The Weeknd, Big KRIT, Chance the Rapper, SBTRKT, Sampha and others have said that they were influenced by this record.

i can only express my deep gratitude that this is what electronic music has evolved into. a study in contradictions; delicate and powerful, fragile and stoic.

that was interesting how he did the verse segment in major key in this version, not sure if I liked it more but it kindof gives the song a new perspective

Amazing artist! I always think of Blake as the male version of Imogen Heap. So spectacular...
