Only someone who doesn't know his early work from 2009-2013 can say this is his Kid A album. This statement is a bit off but I'm glad he went a little bit more experimental again.
@@sovka8394 i dont feel as though it is kid A esque in the sense of the complete departure from previous records which Kid A was for Radiohead, at the same time though, I feel Kid A inspirations sonically all over this record (this could be said for masses of music released by all sorts of artists since 2000)
The way Zane Lowe interviews these artists always, always gives me a new sense of appreciation for them. Idk what it is but I just love watching his interviews.
Yeah some of the bits were not hitting for me at all on this one unfortunately. But that's okay. It's first a conversation between them two and then second an interview for us.

“My interviews, at times, are really fucking shit, and annoying, and that’s what makes the good parts good, it’s gotta have the both.” Does it though? Apple Music…this isn’t, in my worthless opinion, the best way to produce interviews…call me wild but I would prefer listening to an interview that removed all the annoying bits and was just a solid, great interview, preferably one I’m which the host allowed the guest to finish a thought or not be interrupted. Am I reaching for the stars here?
This album is generational in my opinion. Ill continue to cherish this and recommend to any dweller of this universe, aliens included. Is this perhaps Aphex Twin reimagined?
James needs to relax, we noticed you when you walked out at rolling loud. You are dope man. Nobody asked who you are, that means they already know u so chill man.
I'm sort of upset that he's got into the whole "dance vibe" because I fell in love with him with the Overgrown album. But I know he's just branching out. He's a genius, he is such a pioneer.
@@joeydendron yea man I just love his overgrown album that sound he came up with in that album is soooo different from everyone else - I just miss that sound. I felt like he had something going there and then he turns to just dance music it won’t explode as much I feel like.
Never realized how unhinged Zane is. Most of this interview is him bouncing around like he’s on crack. Just wanted to hear James speak more in depth about the album and specific tracks
I think he is genuinely in love with James' music and feels comfortable with him enough to just let go abit. James showed him the album personally before it came out. They have a rapport that allows Zane to switch into less of a professional manner
@ 19:53 I thought I was the only one who recently discovered that they can no longer do this as effectively as they used to. I'm looking at my hands confused, like what's changed?
@@Zero-fg8dv it's James haha. He says people can't believe it's his voice, but I think both sides are true. I'm guessing he used an AI voice to disguise his own.
First things first: JB, what a guy, what a gift to music and society. His journey is mesmeric and fascinating. Now, the persistent and seemingly fashionable Zane slander… I have to wade in as I see it after every interview - so boringly predictable. And clearly not the general consensus given his platform, standing, and relationship with the artists, speaking of whom obviously have nothing but mutual respect for his opinions and hardly a hint of annoyance at his ‘antics’. Zane’s passion for music and creative expression make him the person he is, and I for one just wanna put it out there that there’s no other ‘interviewer’ (fan) I’d rather be a fly on the wall for to enjoy his unique ability to put at ease and engage with my favourite musicians. Just wanted to get that one off my chest. 😂 For myself and I’m sure the many others out there who feel a bit exhausted by the lame, tedious, perennial sneering… even if I know it will continue regardless (sadly). If he’s not for you folks, go watch JB or whoever talk to someone else, yeah? 😉 Haha, rant over!

What??? I thought the rolling loud performance was great. I could never have guessed that it was awkward for him. Also, please James add Ireland to your personal tour. Festivals are weird. Don't let that discourage you.
Apple Music interviews with James are always some of the best.

James Blake is a low key stand up comedian. Properly funny
Absolutely love the album. It feels like the Kid A of James Blake's discography and I'm all here for it.
