A great number of Band-Maid songs are usually about 4 minutes long. The idea of Band-Maid is based on young women wearing cute maid outfits and then melting your face with their hard rock sound. They call it the "gap" between expectations and reality. "Bestie" is a departure from their usual hard rock sound that will use or defy any rock genre. These five VERY TALENTED young Japanese women can take any genre or sub-genre and give it their signature sound. If you care to venture into that world, you will find that out. Band-Maid does have some beautiful rock ballads including "Daydreaming", "Memorable, "About Us", "Smile", "Page", "At the Drop of A Hat", and "Time". "Wonderland" is another wonderful, almost jazzy song you might like. They also did an acoustic Christmas okyu-ji (concert) in December 2021 that is on their UA-cam channel for reactions. Again, they wear different outfits for the okyu-ji and have recorded some beautiful songs such as "Sayonakidori", "Catharsis", "Page", to name a few. I feel those official live videos will be up your alley.
Extended long jam session? Huh? They only do that in concerts and not that often either. Otherwise, their songs are south of 4 minutes usually. There is no way those POPULAR Maid Cafes in Japan will be renamed Domestic Helper Cafes. lmao.
Yo Rob, this is the other great Japanese band for me. I do enjoy their jamming but the do show it off in the lives which I love. The bass player Misa blows my mind. I think songs you would like are Non Fiction Days, Freezer & Thrill. The Band Maid Cafes are a huge thing in Japan which 1 or 2 of these girls worked at before the band. I am curious if this new song they are ditching the outfits or is it just for the video. I am sold either way. In the song Thrill you will like the 2 singers going back n forth. 🍺
Excellent groove and I appreciate that it’s not a double-kick fest. The tom fills were cool. I’m guessing this is a bit more of a poppy sounding song for them. But I like it! 👍🤘
This song made me think of Taylor Swift songs. Not a bad thing for me, but surprising when the few songs I have seen from them previously rocked much harder.
Live Maid is the Best Maid.... Music videos are good but you cant really appreciate how good the Maids are until you see them Live ...Puzzle , No God are great live performances that might not exceed your attention span.....and the Maid outfits are part of the Persona of the Band .. they change in design over the years and thats ok ...
They sound great. The outfits. See ya. Did themselves big favor there. They got talent. Warning was or is supposed to play 3 shows wht the. Boom video is over. Hey good music is good music. Go sneak a nappy in brother.peace.
Actually the Warning is playing one show with Band-Maid, and then doing two smaller shows (max approx. 500 people) in Tokyo and Osaka. The Warning is not well known in Japan, and it is the smart thing to do from a logistical standpoint. I hope their popularity grows there for sure.
@@Aaronacer think they getting there. They shure do put in the work. They are doing sum shows in Canada this fall wht hail storm. I'm hoping they will swing down to Michigan for sum shows. I missed em last time around. Thx for sharing. Take care.
The Maid outfit-- i.e. their Battle Armor-- has gone nowhere. This MV was the exception and not the rule. A lot of people, especially Westerners, don't understand the Japanese concept of "The Gap", which is what you see is not what you get. And I completely respect and understand if that is not for everyone (and there is no reason for anyone to start comparing and contrasting other bands who might have "gimmicks"; music is what should really matter anyways). Personally, after the maelstrom of toxicity of your past reaction and the unneeded infighting of fanbases, I wish you would not react to more Band-Maid. But that is just my opinion. This is your channel and you are free to run it the way you want to. I wish you the best.
I think Kanami's "wings" on her dress are an homage to Ace Frehley. Most of their studio tracks/OMVs are 3:30-4:30. They usually throw in the long solos/battles for live performances, so I would advise checking out the music vids over their live vids. Given what it seems your taste seems to be, I would suggest Daydreaming, Memorable, Manners, Choose Me or one of the 2 acoustic lives on their page, Catharsis and Sayonakidori (FYI, no maid outfits on the acoustic set)
@@maneeventmedia Also, their earlier stuff is a bit more standard hard rock. Try Real Existence, The Nonfiction Days, Turn Me On, Take Me Higher, or Thrill. They have gotten a bit more progressive since 2020.
It's only their live videos that have some extended soloing, all but a couple of songs come in around 3m.30s. I'm a long term Maidiac, but I do agree with a lot that you said. The maid outfits and singing in Japanese doesn't bother me- I'm a music person, but my wife doesn't like the maid outfits either. Stay with us, as it will be worth it and their genius will start to show itself to you.
You might struggle with their live versions if you keep reacting to Band-Maid, because they tend to extend the solos and instrumental parts in those. If you're not a fan of jam sessions, probably best to stick to the studio versions/music videos like this one.
@rogerchance9074 My previous listens to their music were less than desirable. Overdone vibrato and I don’t get a thrill out of the stupid maid outfits. Obviously I have not heard everything as I did enjoy this one. And I have seen one session where they were all dressed down, sitting around a room which was good as well. But generally, not my thing.
🤣Unfortunately I have run across many whiners like you. It's called honesty and integrity pal. I am not here to be a cheerleader for any band. I am here to listen to music and hopefully find good stuff. If I do not like it, I say so.
