The subaru 6 speed is a very string box, it can take some abuse!
@@user-cn8vb9hh5z even the 5 speed ty754 is pretty quick. But once in a while, the synchros hang up and the gears just bounce off each other.
@@Nbomber Yes but unless you're going to refit straight cut gears it would explode at this power and torque level I think.
@@user-cn8vb9hh5z oh yeah, for sure. I actually (and I might be wrong here) think the casing might also be a weak point. Im actually on the hunt for a ty856 but man, they arent cheap.
@@Nbomber the are extensive, not lease because you need the diff, half shafts and hubs too. It's much cheaper to just start with an STI!

Understated car! My old man used to have one of these before he passed away, was only stock engine with an exhaust/filter, blitz blow off valve and tein coilovers but it still moved and sounded great. Don't ever see them about either.

@@R8V10 and he also says it doesnt have th original engine, tho if it came with a 2.5 standard then jt wouldnt have had the 2.0 ej207 from a jdm sti so wouldnt have had the better set up

Honestly you have to drive a scooby to understand why we love them so much. I want an evo VI as well but nothing is beating that scooby rumble man. And nothing handles like one too. Find it hilarious shocking people on back roads 😂

For me, sound is almost half the driving experience. Even though evo is faster and more reliable, I went Subaru for the sound (and they are obviously quick as well).
I have a NA mx5, rx8 and g3 wide body wrx. Nothing turns heads like the wrx. Even a rotary at full song turns less heads than a Subaru on idle haha
I think Subaru's are one of the best sounding cars out there.
For me Ricky’s content is the best out there this is what we want the mad super stuff but also the everyday normal people with the suited hondas or Subaru’s and that you would see down the local car park great balance with it all great work every video 🔥🔥

Thing I love about scooby's is that you can just cruise without revving the nuts off it everywhere and still enjoy it with all the noise (burbles) and torque low down, gives it a really distinct but muscle car feel 👌

I have a US version Forester 2.5XT, 2005. I'm currently building it into an STi, I did the JDM 6 speed + Brembo swap a couple years back. Last December I got the dreaded ringland failure in Cylinder 4, so now she just sits until I can save up enough money to build the engine up to 400-500 HP. I can't wait until that day!

I've rarely but occasionally seen foresters with sti engines and sti body kits pop up on ebay US. I know its not jdm (not 100% anyway) but the last one I saw up was sick for the price it sold for.

I soooooo nearly bought one of these (fast dad wagon required) - sale fell through and I then ended up with a legacy tuned by sti wagon instead (small number of mods, but keeping it OEM look, about to be mapped soon) - I love the legacy, but I still look wistfully at forester stis.
Maybe I'll have both one day. :)

Nice car! Loved driving my daughters STI. I was a V8 kind of old school till she let me drive it. Hard to beat adjustable all wheel drive so all wheels hook up and give a good launch. Keep it up 👍
