I have couple of questions on this video: 1) Parameters 4, 5 and 6 are Preset speeds. f you would like to run the drive at certain preset speeds, you may want to set one of those. (a) Are there 3 different preset speeds we can run the motor at? Out of 3 pre-set speeds, at what speed does the motor run? (b) Typically, we are going to run the drive on an analog input: How is it done? or we are going to run through the keypad, so we won’t need to set those. 2) In the video at ~5.01 mins, you set the motor frequency at 60Hz. However, under Parameter 3 if we have already set the motor rated frequency, why do we need to set the running frequency again? 3) I understood Max & Min frequency that basically determines Max & Min speed we allow the motor to run at. Help Me: In my plant we have six 3hp motors all of its function is to lift some load or rotate some material to some fixed time about 10min.one of motor is worked for 1hr and suddenly heated up. And motor stop working. Then we have to wait for some time to cool it. And then it work so our production stops. We change the motor(heated) with another motor then this heated motor works fine at other location and replaced motor is heating now. What to do all electrical engineer says our side ok. No earthing problem, no load problem. They says problem is in your PLC side ie drive. What to do sir???? Thanking you. Waiting for your replay.

+Femi Fayemi Sorry for the late response. You can not use a 10.0 A VFD on a 10.7 A motor. The VFD will trip, you need a bigger VFD. The ambient temperature is a common reason a VFD overheats. If the VFD is in a panel/enclosure, make sure you have fans or an AC unit to cool the VFD. Also, make sure the VFD is clean. E8 and EC at the end of Mitsubishi VFDs are regional codes. EC is Europe, E8 is most specifically in the United Kingdom, CHT is Asia, NA is North America. Hope this helps!

hi, Thanks a lot for your introductory video. I've got FR-D740-012(SC), the inverter drives two cooling fans of an oven and is driven by an analog input 0-10v, using pins 2,5 and 10. I'd like the cooling motor to come on as soon as the oven is switched on. I can't seem to understand which combination of parameters will make it happen. When the main switch is turned on, the inverter comes on, and the controller gives it the driving voltage of around 6V to start, but the frequency remains at 0.00 till I hit (RUN), and then it accelerates to the frequency. How can I make this autostart and not wait for a physical key-press? This is a real issue since suppose there's a power failure, and the oven is on, when the power come back on, the cooling fans will be dead, but the oven will be running... a disaster waiting to happen! Thanks
Hi Naresh, we have chatted with one of our field engineers about your question. Closing a contact from terminal SD to terminal STF will make the drive start on the closure. So if you wire SD and STF through a dry contact on the switch that turns on the oven, the drive should then start on the switch closure. Hope that helps!
Hi, I did do something similar. I've had a call with the Mitsubishi support people here in Italy and the two connections to connect are PC-STF, and not SD-STF. Then there were a three parameters that need to be setup, 79

Hi Jakob, When the screen displays a E--- that signifies that the VFD is in Fault History mode. If the SET button is pressed while this is displayed the VFD will display the most resent fault. If the display shows a “E 0” then there are no faults in the history. As for the “summing” noise, we would need more information to know what is going on. Such as your motor and VFD spec, your application, any extra components in the machine, how are you starting the VFD, what programming (parameter settings) is involved, etc.

+Jose Aguilar Hi Jose, the D700 has basic (limited) PID functions. You can program it directly in the parameters of the VFD. If you would like to control it with a computer, you can use Mitsubishi's software - FR Configurator or FR Configurator 2. Hope that helps!

+Philip Murray Is your RUN light blinking? If it is, there is a switch that is keeping it in RUN mode (meaning the drive does not recognize it as being stopped even though the drive is not running). I am not quite sure what you mean by "sink and source". And do you have a Mitsubishi D700? There is no Error 27 in Mitsubishi VFDs.
There is a jumper switch label sink and source. Is this switch has anything to do with the 485 communication port
