Great information for pet owners Helen. Hope you have a great trip and please keep safe. You may want to watch our next video, well at least the start anyway lol, when it’s uploaded later tonight. Irvine & Karen.
Thanks guys , we'll give your video a watch as soon as we can , heading off again today on our travels as it's a bit of a whistle stop tour this one , we only have a few weeks left on the 'clock'. Best wishes Helen and Martin
Weve seen the caterpillars in Portugal. We were on a clifftop walk and there were nests everywhere! We turned round and went back to the van! Scary little critters! X
Hi Helen Your 10 min Tuesday is fantastic We got Our Ella and alfi a eu passport early this year with rabies jab We are going back over to Europe again shortly Do we still need the ahc we have been told no we don’t need it nor tape worm and fle They receive fle and wormer every three months anyway Thanks keep it up 👍
Hi, we are so glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful. If Ella and Alfie have valid EU passports with rabies jabs administered in the EU then they will not need an AHC to travel. They will however need a tapeworm treatment before they return to the U.K. This has to be given between 24-120 hours prior to return and the vet will need to complete the relevant page in the passport. Thanks for watching, best wishes and safe travels Helen & Martin.
Thank you, Helen. One of the most informative blogs on taking our furry friends across the pond. We’ve already had to change our plans for an extended visit to France and Spain because of the limitations to pet insurance especially where repatriation is concerned. We’re not ones to be put off, though, and planning to visit France, Belgium and the Netherlands next spring to specifically take in the Dutch Bulb Fields. Have you by any chance taken in such a visit on your many travels. R Michael & Sue
Hi Mike and Sue , thanks for watching . While we have been to all those countries quiet a few times , never at the right time to see the bulbs . We would love to though , we have seen the fields full of Tulips near to us in Norfolk and that’s some sight, so I can only imagine how good the Dutch experience would be. Hope you’re trip is everything you want it to be . Best wishes Helen and Martin
Hi Nick , I am glad they only dip sample check though , can you imagine the delays if they went through each page of everyones AHC in detail 😂. Thanks for watching H and M
Thanks for the tips, taking poppy for the first time this Feb. Going to get a Belgium passport on the way back what are you r thoughts of a European passport ?
Our pleasure Jon , reference the passport if you’d like to send me an email to scoth991@gmail.com I’ll respond fully with a full explanation. Best wishes H and M
Hi Helen, thanks for all your video content. We are planing our first trip to France next year. Orla is a medium Labradoodle and we were interested in what you do with your dog on your trips. So when you are out and about, do you take your dog with you all the time or do you ever leave your dog in the MH alone? Interested in how you make it work
Hi Les, we do try whenever possible to take Poppy with us wherever we go, even if it means us taking it in turns to go inside churches, museums etc. However, on occasion this isn’t always possible particularly as some countries are more dog friendly than others when it comes to public transport. We will and have left Poppy in the motorhome if we are on a secure site or secure aire and are happy with the safety of the location/surroundings. We wouldn’t leave her if we were on a car park or secluded aire. Before leaving her we also check the weather and won’t leave her if the temperature in the van will cause her any discomfort. Thankfully she is happy in the van and will sleep if we are out. We do have a mobile security camera which links to Martins phone so we can check she is ok. We also wouldn’t venture too far away. I also appreciate we may be a little overprotective as well.😂 thank you for your comments and for watching. Best wishes H&M.
@@helenandmartinsTreks Hi Helen…just wondered if you were able to share the spec of your mobile security camera? I am thinking of investing in one of these Thanks Les
Hi Wayne , thanks we are aware of the issue , 1 in 10,000 from a recent study , devastating for travellers even more so if you have lost your pet and a faulty chip scan prevents trace of the owner. Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin
