    There’s a cracking Stellplatz in Koln right on the river, ideal for vining the Christmas markets. Yet again another very useful, informative video.

    Great vlog. Just catching up. We did a tour of Spain and Portugal for the first time in the moho this year and was very pleasantly surprised at the standard of the aires in Spain.

      We love Spain we've been going for Winter , Covid Lock downs aside, since 2017 and we'll be heading out again in February . We always head down to the Costa Blanca first and meet up with some Dutch mates that we see every year, then head off on tour usually into Portugal at some stage. Northern Spain is our favourite from Easter onwards , The Pico's de Europe especially if you haven't been is a beautiful area.Thanks very much for watching and taking time to comment . Hi H&M, always amazed by how much you guys can cover in 10 minutes! always very informative and well presented. A day in the life of being Poppy on tour would be amusing. How her day starts, where she is when you are travelling, where she sleeps, her diet, exercise, likes, dislikes etc. Get the Poppy cam on lol. Reckon that could be a good laugh. :o) Take care. Can anyone clarify, are the water connectors the same on a Stellplatz that we find in uk campsites or particular type / adapter required. Many thanks

    • @NomadicTreks
      @NomadicTreks  7 місяців тому

      They differ and can be different across the networks. We carry a bag of different size adaptors , available on Amazon it’s best to have options just in case. Take as many diameters as you find including a male to male adapter. Assuming you know that you need an electric adapter to , if not shout and I’ll send you so info. Stellplatz’s are awesome generally you’ll love them. Best wishes and happy travels Helen and Martin

      @@laddie-1479 European 16A Mains Hook Up Adaptor Lead Plug Coupler Caravan Camping Site amzn.eu/d/dzIJ9JC - you will need to carry one of these . You won’t always need it , more and more sites are putting in universal adaptors but some sites still have 2 pin connectors.

    Hi. Question about camping car parks. Just recieved our card. If you just have normal membership(not the €29 one) can you still book in advance and if so how far in advance? I dont think it is made very clear in the information given. Cheers.

    • @NomadicTreks
      @NomadicTreks  8 місяців тому

      Hi Ivan , as we read it you can pay the €29 and guarantee yourself a stop on the aire. If you don't have this you could find the site full. If you're travelling in France in winter you won't need to book but in summer you probably will. So it depends whether you want to be super flexible or not. We do have the PACK'PRIVILÈGES , and there have been a couple of times in the summer when it's worked for us. This is the link - www.campingcarpark.com/en_GB/products/pack-privileges Hope that helps Helen and Martin

    We’ve used quite a few aires over the years (not yet done Camping Car Parks) and we were surprised by how many stellplatz in Germany needed cash. Either to pay for the ticket machine or feed the electric meter. In France and Belgium now they tend to be on machines that take a card or free, some have the old fashioned jetons (token bought from nearby) but I think that’s disappearing.
    Denmark was very good for these kind of camper stops although prices were a bit all over the place. Any electric in Denmark was generally metered as many were in Germany, France doesn’t seem to have caught up with that as yet. Hopefully we are off to Spain next year which will be a first for us in the motorhome so see what their stops are like.
    Do you ever use ACSI? Seem to be quite mixed experience with this on Facebook groups and if we get away in the Spring maybe something we need for Spain; dunno. Maybe ten minutes on ACSI one week!

    • @NomadicTreks
      @NomadicTreks  Рік тому +1

      Hi Phil , we do have a ACSI Card and I know some people swear by them , but in the last couple of years when we have presented it, they have offered the lower pitch price , but then wanted to make us pay for electric which would have been in with the price without ACSI or a downgraded pitch. Sort of given in one hand and taken away with the other . Hence we have stopped using it. You will find good Spanish stops , perhaps not as good at the top end, but they are good for purpose generally . The issue of cash in Germany is wider than in Stellplatz's, we encountered quite a few cash only businesses , rather surprising really where in Spain it was the other way. I'm guessing it's something to do with bank charges. We haven't been to Denmark yet , it's on our list though. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion . Best wished Helen and Martin
