- What a piece of Music!! One of my ultimate favorites - As It Is, by the dynamic duo Pat Metheny/Lyle Mays. From the Speaking of Now album, what a challenging one to put together!
I wanted to do a complete version, start to finish, and It was really challenging to play some of Lyle's awesome arrangement bits, but totally worth it!
By the way, I've got a really nice surprise on this one - I'm using Lyle Mays' keyboard! Yep, you heard it right - Lyle's JX-10. I can't begin to explain how it feels to play on his keyboard and use a few of his signature sounds. Can you tell which ones I'm using??

This song carries me to the space, I always listen to it, specially the live version in Japan 2002.

@Gabriel Santiago Is that Lyle's JX-10? His niece told me he sold all the synths a while before he passed, and that shimmering patch is there, so is that THE JX-10? I have the Prophet patch in the JV 1080 VST but that's soo accurate here so I thought I saw it at the beginning and thought oh, JX-10. Great cover

@@GabrielSantiago Yeah, I recognise it from that! It's beautiful. I wish I knew how he thought up that sound and what went through his head when he used it. He had that sound programmed on another synth before he got the JX-10. You can hear it on "End of the Game". I think he did that one on the Rhodes Chroma.

"Prophet 5" as shown at the keyboard display. Actually, this is the Roland Super JX-10 pre-owned by Lyle, so this is exactly his sound.

music store in LA. It was also listed by store on ebay and reverb. He had tons of stuff listed through this LA store

Gabriel, você afina essa 7ª corda em B ou C? Comprei um e estou na dúvida ainda. Não sou do chorinho e das baixarias e acho que esse violão tem um baita potencial para o jazz. (Edit) acho que já vi que é em B .... rsrsrs
ôpa, parece que vc já descobriu, Carlos :-) isso, uso em B - tb não sou do Choro etc, estou mais dentro do contexto harmônico do Jazz então essa 7.a em B me dá bastante possibilidades de expandir a região grave. Abraço!
