I think the kid was just extremely conflicted and Mallory and Butcher dropping all that info on him including how he was conceived before forcing him to choose to become a weapon against his bio dad was a lot for one kid to deal with

I dont necessarily see Ryan going back to Homelander. Yes, killing Mallory was clearly a step in the evil direction, but also he clearly held himself back. It MIGHT have been an accident. Even if it wasn’t, that doesnt magically make what Mallory told him go away. He knows she was telling the truth about Homelander. I think Ryan is stuck in an unknown 3rd position. Doesnt care about humans anymore, but also doesnt want Homelander to be his dad anymore.

Saying Neuman at best would only contain the problem is an understatement. She is still a powerful character that is strong enough to withstand Homelander’s heat vision and she’s debatably as strong as Kimiko and Starlight. In conclusion Butcher put The Boys in a checkmate position after his promise to keep Ryan safe was compromised by watching Ryan kill two people that Butcher held dear.
I wanna say, I think Erin Moriarty had a lot of fun with this episode. Her performance as the shapeshifter was pretty great. You could tell she was having fun being a bad guy

I feel like Ryan is gonna sit in a middle ground, since he has clearly lost trust in most of the people around him due to Mallory, and the information he heard about Flight 37 and everything else Homelander did will sit in his head rent free. I just don't see him turning fully with the supes, neither do I see him trusting anyone like The Boys.

That’s kinda the point…neither is he..or Hughie…or Starlight (didn’t want her in at first just because she was a supe) or Frenchie really…(turning himself in) they’ve all made major mistakes and or weren’t trusted by butcher, but came to be over time. He didn’t even trust Hughie enough to hear out his plan and see if it was fair or made sense. Which it 100% did. This was sheer narcicism and power taking over. He couldn’t even hear out his best friend and just acted off impulse. (Like supes like homelander do)
We're probably gonna get an Ashley vs The Deep showdown in S5. We may also get a Butcher vs Soldier Boy rematch near the very end of the series. Either way this show is and will be one heck of an experience whether you like it or not
I think Maeve is working on something and possibly working with A Train and Sage. I feel like the phase 2 that Sage mentioned is something she's planning with Maeve since she's carrying around that journal with a drawing of Maeve on it
That is an interesting theory. We know Maeve is alive but without her powers. Even though Maeve hates Homelander so unless they're planning to kill him I'm not sure what they would both be cooking up.
Even though season 4 isn’t overall as good as last season it does have the more exciting ending to me. I just kind of shrugged at the end of s3 but the end of this one has me so ready for s5 and mad I’m gonna have to wait like 2 years.
Manic Sage is fantastic. In a scary way... like getting a glimpse of the real insane evil genius behind the facade. Same thing happened when talking to Victoria (RIP) about her grandmother. I really wanted everything to have been a grand plan by her so was happy by the reveal.
Sage is the standout of this season. Her strategic brilliance, emotional intelligence, and manipulation skills have elevated the drama to new heights. Homelander is now entangled with her, faced with the choice of keeping her close or eliminating her, but who knows how he might change without her influence? If Sage leaves - he now knows he is nothing. I was initially skeptical about A-Train’s death this season, as many believed he needed to conclude his arc with his family. However, it worked surprisingly well. I’m also eagerly anticipating Ashley's rise in power-her insider knowledge of the Supes will be a game-changer next season. A special mention goes to the comedic duo of the season, Deep and Black Noir - their bromance made me chuckle. As for Ryan, it’s shocking to think he’d kill his beloved "Aunt" in cold blood. There was no regret in his eyes, no emotion. It seemed like his survival instinct kicked in. Despite this, I doubt he will side with Homelander. Raised by a loving mother and surrounded by people who cared for him, Ryan has no real motive to become like Homelander deep down. It's always a pleasure sharing insights with this channel - great job keeping up BP!
Yeah it is genuinely terryfying when you realise everything Homelander did was according to her plan because she could read him that well and be 10 steps ahead. When he though he was in control but he really wasn't. Thus when she says at the end that she always have his back would you trust and believe her, or assume this is just another part of her great design, with final goal impossible to fathom.
sage is definitely one of my more favorite villains of the series. the fact that she is doing all of this simply because ‘it’s fun’ is dangerous. she has literally caused the country to go under martial law and become ruled by supes solely because she wanted to see if she could. i LOVE her character lol.
The only really strange thing here is her predicting Numan's death because the cause of that was unknown to her, that's for sure. I feel like she's the classic character that says "yeah that was my plan" even if random and unpredictable bullshit happened.

It is a fitting ending to this season, several good surprises in my opinion. Starting with how much of a master chess player Sister Sage proves to be. I was kinda disappointed when they unceremoniously seemed to dump her but seeing how it was all calculated in as a possiblity, really shows why she is the smartest person in the world. She moves pieces like no other and manage to keep track of all possible scenarios. Neumann's death came sooner than I expected, though they did work towards it the whole season in two ways: The Boys have been planning her assassination for quite some time, they have teased her death a few times AND they have been teasing Butchers V-ed up tumor the whole season. We know the moment that it killed Ezekiel that when it was finally revealed in its full form, it would be used to kill an important character. And seeing how they played Neumann in this last season, she fit both that bill as the one of a soon-to-be disposable character. The return of Cindy is also quite interesting, didn't expect her to return like that but good to see she isn't forgotten. Ashley taking V, can be interesting, the Medusa-idea I have read here in the comment section is a promising suggestion, though my first thought when in the direction of her being something like the Leader in Marvel. Other Ashley dying needlessly was cruel but on part with the general style of the series. And while I did like Frenchie and Kimiko finally admitting their feelings for each other, it does make feel Frenchie's arc this season even worse executed. I don't mind him trying with Colin but the way they handled it and wrote off a potential romance with Kimiko first, rubs me the wrong way. And did Jack Quaid park in Kripke's spot or something, Hughie really is having a very tough season... But overall, it was still a fun season, not The Boys at their best but it does set the stage for a fantastic finale season.
I bet s5 finale goes like this. Butcher “newman’s” homelander rendering his lasers obsolete and his body immobile. Soldier boy enter frame and chest blasts butcher and homey causing them both to lose their powers. Butcher and homey fight as humans concluding in butcher caving in homelander skull with…a crowbar! Call me crazy I wouldn’t be surprised! Cant wait tho!
I think sage was talking about time and homelander aging. Homelander is not immortal and he will grow old and die. I think he is gonna experiment on soldier boy to try and get his immortality. That way in his head he will truly be a god.
But do we know soldier boy is actually immortal? He was kept frozen by the sovjets, just like winder soldier. So maybe he did not age, beacuse his body did not real "live" When animals go into hiatus they also decrease their aging process by a lot.
Butcher is such a tragic character. All he wanted was for Ryan to be safe and for “the boys” to be safe but after Mallory being killed by Ryan it just confirmed his outlook on supes and how “with great power you will end up being a cunt”. Now his dark heart is now in the drivers seat LITERALY running the show. He will do absolutely anything to save the world from supes. He is now all in.

Holy fuck! I loved it so much, the fact that Sage was like you think everything is a ruin? Well that’s the god damn plan, spread Anarchy! And that final scene where you think they’re gonna get away but at the last moment they are taken captive. Soo good!
Most ppl knew Sage had contingencies in place when she got fired. She accepted that arrangement from Homelander knowing full well he was an egotistical man child who always needed to feel like he was the smartest person in the room. She's not the smartest person on the planet for nothing, and ppl who were paying attention have been telling everyone all season that she was arguably the most dangerous supe of them all.
Bro this finale had me on the edge of my seat starlight was evolving this whole time this season basically focused on her developing into an extremely powerful supe im thinking she limited herself the entire time thinking she needs electricity to use her powers but you seen her use the power of the sun at the end to fly she is way more powerful than she thinks it reminds me of the end of captain marvel - I’ve been fighting with one hand behind my back what happens when I’m finally set free she is no longer a joke butcher killing Neuman was so shocking and unexpected but it needed to happen she killed so many innocents to get what she wanted Ryan killing Mallory set the fuse off in butcher to fully immerse himself in his own dark side to kill all Supes who knows how long it’s gonna be till he loses control fully Ashley taking V and kimiko finally speaking what an episode I was literally in awe the entire episode 🔥
Considering what we saw when we finally got to see Butcher's V-form, it would have been awesome to have seen the fight with Ezekiel. Basically Ezekiel's limbs spaghetti-ing around while Butcher's tentacles were pulling them apart.
As shocking as Neumann death was it did feel like they only did it to prevent Homelander getting killed in s5 early on like they wrote themselves into a corner. Overall I loved that episode at least at an enjoyability standpoint probably the first time I was really shocked do watching the boys

The fact that Kimiko, who was held in a camp where she was forced to fight and kill people to survive for literally most of her life until pretty much The Boys Season 1, lost to some fucking frat supe was genuinely infuriating. I did watch Gen V and no I don't think Sam could take Kimiko.
If the shifter won against Kimiko, then yes, Sam bodies Kimiko, with Sam being one of the strongest supes currently (on raw strength, at the very least)
theories - gen v season 2, cate and sam will turn into a new leaf and so at the end of the boys season 4 they were actually helping frenchie and kimiko - neuman might be alive, her powers is blood related so maybe she also have some healing properties, pretended to be dead in order to keep her daughter safe - the writers are playing with us when it comes to ryan being good or bad, remember at episode 7 he made butcher proud and now with episode 8 he made butcher lose faith, but i think in the end he will end up being good because of the influence of her mother and there are scenes in episode 8 that teases us with ryan vs HL - sage might be poisoning/weakening homelander through firecracker's milk -season 5 might start with starlight looking for queen maeve eventually teaming up with a-train and the gen v casts then eventually go against homelander and his troops of bad heroes, while sister sage setting everything in order to kill homelander simply as a challenge to herself. - HL teary eyes as he look into soldier boy might simply because he noticed that soldier boy is not aging like him - butcher might end up using his deadly virus to himself
The one thing about this season that has confused me is the fact that butcher was staying on the good side and listening to becca, but everytime he would do that he would decline in health, and not be able to use his "powers" but everytime he listened to kessler its like he got healthier and he obviously had the ability to use his powers, which i guess what im asking is why is the "vision" of becca not helping butcher out more?
It is implied that the ‘kessler’ figment was in some way a reflection of the cancer’s “will”, or a manifestation of butcher’s desire to kill, and that it controls butcher’s access to his new powers. When butcher rejected it, the tumor withheld its power and kept killing him slowly. When butcher accepted ‘Kessler’s help, the tumor instead gave him full access to the powers (as long as he continues the goal to kill all supes), and so it decided to stop killing him and let him use the tentacles.

Saying Neuman at best would only contain the problem is an understatement. She is still a powerful character that is strong enough to withstand Homelander’s heat vision and she’s debatably as strong as Kimiko and Starlight. In conclusion Butcher put The Boys in a checkmate position after his promise to keep Ryan safe was compromised by watching Ryan kill two people that Butcher held dear.
I wanna say, I think Erin Moriarty had a lot of fun with this episode. Her performance as the shapeshifter was pretty great. You could tell she was having fun being a bad guy

Even though season 4 isn’t overall as good as last season it does have the more exciting ending to me. I just kind of shrugged at the end of s3 but the end of this one has me so ready for s5 and mad I’m gonna have to wait like 2 years.

In a scary way... like getting a glimpse of the real insane evil genius behind the facade.
Same thing happened when talking to Victoria (RIP) about her grandmother.
I really wanted everything to have been a grand plan by her so was happy by the reveal.
Sage is the standout of this season. Her strategic brilliance, emotional intelligence, and manipulation skills have elevated the drama to new heights. Homelander is now entangled with her, faced with the choice of keeping her close or eliminating her, but who knows how he might change without her influence? If Sage leaves - he now knows he is nothing.
I was initially skeptical about A-Train’s death this season, as many believed he needed to conclude his arc with his family. However, it worked surprisingly well. I’m also eagerly anticipating Ashley's rise in power-her insider knowledge of the Supes will be a game-changer next season.
A special mention goes to the comedic duo of the season, Deep and Black Noir - their bromance made me chuckle.
As for Ryan, it’s shocking to think he’d kill his beloved "Aunt" in cold blood. There was no regret in his eyes, no emotion. It seemed like his survival instinct kicked in. Despite this, I doubt he will side with Homelander. Raised by a loving mother and surrounded by people who cared for him, Ryan has no real motive to become like Homelander deep down.

Yeah it is genuinely terryfying when you realise everything Homelander did was according to her plan because she could read him that well and be 10 steps ahead. When he though he was in control but he really wasn't. Thus when she says at the end that she always have his back would you trust and believe her, or assume this is just another part of her great design, with final goal impossible to fathom.
Her lack of emotional intelligence is unironically what caused most of the problems with her plan. She’s an asshole
sage is definitely one of my more favorite villains of the series. the fact that she is doing all of this simply because ‘it’s fun’ is dangerous. she has literally caused the country to go under martial law and become ruled by supes solely because she wanted to see if she could. i LOVE her character lol.
The part where she smeared cake on her face and had a power girl moment with Victoria was riveting.
The only really strange thing here is her predicting Numan's death because the cause of that was unknown to her, that's for sure.
I feel like she's the classic character that says "yeah that was my plan" even if random and unpredictable bullshit happened.

It is a fitting ending to this season, several good surprises in my opinion. Starting with how much of a master chess player Sister Sage proves to be. I was kinda disappointed when they unceremoniously seemed to dump her but seeing how it was all calculated in as a possiblity, really shows why she is the smartest person in the world. She moves pieces like no other and manage to keep track of all possible scenarios. Neumann's death came sooner than I expected, though they did work towards it the whole season in two ways: The Boys have been planning her assassination for quite some time, they have teased her death a few times AND they have been teasing Butchers V-ed up tumor the whole season. We know the moment that it killed Ezekiel that when it was finally revealed in its full form, it would be used to kill an important character. And seeing how they played Neumann in this last season, she fit both that bill as the one of a soon-to-be disposable character. The return of Cindy is also quite interesting, didn't expect her to return like that but good to see she isn't forgotten. Ashley taking V, can be interesting, the Medusa-idea I have read here in the comment section is a promising suggestion, though my first thought when in the direction of her being something like the Leader in Marvel. Other Ashley dying needlessly was cruel but on part with the general style of the series. And while I did like Frenchie and Kimiko finally admitting their feelings for each other, it does make feel Frenchie's arc this season even worse executed. I don't mind him trying with Colin but the way they handled it and wrote off a potential romance with Kimiko first, rubs me the wrong way. And did Jack Quaid park in Kripke's spot or something, Hughie really is having a very tough season... But overall, it was still a fun season, not The Boys at their best but it does set the stage for a fantastic finale season.

Holy fuck! I loved it so much, the fact that Sage was like you think everything is a ruin? Well that’s the god damn plan, spread Anarchy! And that final scene where you think they’re gonna get away but at the last moment they are taken captive. Soo good!
Kimiko finally finding her voice was amazing, and seeing some Gen V kids!

Most ppl knew Sage had contingencies in place when she got fired. She accepted that arrangement from Homelander knowing full well he was an egotistical man child who always needed to feel like he was the smartest person in the room. She's not the smartest person on the planet for nothing, and ppl who were paying attention have been telling everyone all season that she was arguably the most dangerous supe of them all.
Well sage knew homelander wasn't smart enough to pull this off better her work in the shadows.
Sage works because shes the smartest person on earth, it only makes you mad because intelligence like that is impossible for us to comprehend

she limited herself the entire time thinking she needs electricity to use her powers but you seen her use the power of the sun at the end to fly she is way more
powerful than she thinks it reminds me of the end of captain marvel - I’ve been fighting with one hand behind my back what happens when I’m finally set free she is no longer a joke butcher killing Neuman was so shocking and unexpected but it needed to happen she killed so many innocents to get what she wanted Ryan killing Mallory
set the fuse off in butcher to fully immerse himself in his own dark side to kill all Supes who knows how long it’s gonna be till he loses control fully

Season 5 is the time Butcher will live up to his name
Considering what we saw when we finally got to see Butcher's V-form, it would have been awesome to have seen the fight with Ezekiel. Basically Ezekiel's limbs spaghetti-ing around while Butcher's tentacles were pulling them apart.
As shocking as Neumann death was it did feel like they only did it to prevent Homelander getting killed in s5 early on like they wrote themselves into a corner. Overall I loved that episode at least at an enjoyability standpoint probably the first time I was really shocked do watching the boys

Me too! It angered me that Annie was upset with him when what happened to him was SA. The writers are silly for not recognising the similarities between that scene and the scenes in WonderWoman that people were upset about (where her lover took over the body of another guy and she slept with him). It's one of the greatest episodes I've ever seen. Absolute masterpiece. I can't wait to see what happens in the next three years
I feel like Starlight got her powers so willingly because 1. she was under pressure, and 2. I think she gained a new ability to using her powers which is why she was able to fly so good and I believe she can use her powers from the sun now. Honestly now thinking about it, it’s even in her name:
Sun=Star
Sun=Light
That ending was crazy
Are we 100% certain that Neuman’s eyes are the catalyst for her powers? I recall a reveal about her that may say otherwise…

The fact that Kimiko, who was held in a camp where she was forced to fight and kill people to survive for literally most of her life until pretty much The Boys Season 1, lost to some fucking frat supe was genuinely infuriating. I did watch Gen V and no I don't think Sam could take Kimiko.
If the shifter won against Kimiko, then yes, Sam bodies Kimiko, with Sam being one of the strongest supes currently (on raw strength, at the very least)

theories
- gen v season 2, cate and sam will turn into a new leaf and so at the end of the boys season 4 they were actually helping frenchie and kimiko
- neuman might be alive, her powers is blood related so maybe she also have some healing properties, pretended to be dead in order to keep her daughter safe
- the writers are playing with us when it comes to ryan being good or bad, remember at episode 7 he made butcher proud and now with episode 8 he made butcher lose faith, but i think in the end he will end up being good because of the influence of her mother and there are scenes in episode 8 that teases us with ryan vs HL
- sage might be poisoning/weakening homelander through firecracker's milk
-season 5 might start with starlight looking for queen maeve eventually teaming up with a-train and the gen v casts then eventually go against homelander and his troops of bad heroes, while sister sage setting everything in order to kill homelander simply as a challenge to herself.
- HL teary eyes as he look into soldier boy might simply because he noticed that soldier boy is not aging like him
- butcher might end up using his deadly virus to himself

The one thing about this season that has confused me is the fact that butcher was staying on the good side and listening to becca, but everytime he would do that he would decline in health, and not be able to use his "powers" but everytime he listened to kessler its like he got healthier and he obviously had the ability to use his powers, which i guess what im asking is why is the "vision" of becca not helping butcher out more?
I think becca is the part of him still clinging to hope. But after seeing what ryan did, next stage is supe genocide.
It is implied that the ‘kessler’ figment was in some way a reflection of the cancer’s “will”, or a manifestation of butcher’s desire to kill, and that it controls butcher’s access to his new powers. When butcher rejected it, the tumor withheld its power and kept killing him slowly. When butcher accepted ‘Kessler’s help, the tumor instead gave him full access to the powers (as long as he continues the goal to kill all supes), and so it decided to stop killing him and let him use the tentacles.
