If you can't afford psychologist try something new in your life. Change your schedule, work, go on walks, find a new hobby, talk with someone. Sometimes we just need a person who can listen and support without judging. Even if it's a stranger.
As someone from sweden the winter is definitely quite hard, since it’s dark almost all day long. but as you said, making it cozy at home really helps 🫶
i think i just noticed part of why i love these videos so much - the fact that i don't have to respond, and that you do all the talking. not enough people IRL respect that i want to stay quiet sometimes, and not speak, just listen. we're always expected to respond to anything someone says, and it feels like a weight is on me whenever i am in a social situation, because i have to act in a way that is socially accepted, instead of remaining quiet like i want to. i feel like these videos fill that gap in my life, and make me feel understood in a way that most other people don't get. thank you for making them 💛
thank you so much 🥺💕 i'm the same way, sometimes when i'm anxious or overwhelmed, i just like relaxing and being a listener 💜 this was such a sweet comment though, thank you again!!
I lived in Seattle most my life and had to contend with SAD each year. Things that I found super helpful were: indoor plants (greenery inside can help when outside is unapproachable), fireplaces or firepits (super cozy! Also, if a neither are an option, a small gas burner to make s'mores or other hot treats can be a good substitute), using the time to try new recipes (baking makes the house smell amazing and keeps it warm plus, fresh baked goods are always great for lifting up the mood), weighted blankets or cuddly pets, ALL THE BOOKS, and also vitamin D sun lamps (it really helps keep the blues at bay). I also got into the ritual of having hot tea after going on a daily walk during the winter months. Mint tea was my favorite so, this video brought back all the memories. Thanks for all the tingly good feels! ^_^ Hang in there! Spring will be here before you know it!
As someone from England which has very long dark gloomy depressing cold winters, this really helps. I also suffer from SAD and yesterday had to go to my dad’s funeral to say goodbye to him which was really hard and emotional so this video really helps in that regard too.
I’ve never seen an asmr video specifically for SAD. I struggle with seasonal depression and I am doing better this year than last year but I’m so grateful for your mental health help videos, you’ve definitely helped me out of a lot of anxiety attacks. Thanks for what you do!
I’m watching this from the other side of the world while it’s summer but I still LOVE this. I definitely struggle during winter as well so I know I’ll be returning to this video once it starts getting cold here 🤍
Love your videos. Gives therapeutic vibes and sort of breaks my stress down. You’re very gentle and soft spoken so it’s possible to just turn on and listen in the background.
The day you've uploaded this video is a bit serendipitous. My mood has been all over the place. I've had a whole string of nightmares where certain people are stalking me, and outrunning them is exhausting ... so already I wake up on the wrong foot, but manage to work a few hours at a time, walk around without a purpose, return to my office and work some more. Then it's punctuated by weird euphoric moments where little things will make me laugh for minutes on end. When I eat, it's less out of hunger and more as a way to calm myself down or pick myself up. I think the increase in ASMR as an expressive art (which I believe you've helped popularize, Lavender) will be so valuable as we head into spring, which is my least favorite month for how damp and sticky it is. Ending the day with your video is an antidote to the sluggish atmosphere: you whisper with a clarity and a consistent rhythm. ❤ Wishing you a peaceful weekend. 🧡
Hi Sarah. I'd love a Honey Lavender tea, thanks. I must say that time spent with you is time well spent as I always feel better and more peaceful as soon as you start speaking. So thankful that I found your channel.
Whenever Sarah asks if she can give me/the viewer a hug and tells us that she’s here I can’t help but smile. It’s a big reason I keep coming back…Sarah, you are the wholesome and kind friend I need in my life. Thank you ❤
I grew up in the south and still live in the south. However, for years my sister lived in Minnesota and I'd go up quarterly to visit. I learned to appreciate good proper winter clothing.
Drinking some water with vitamin c while I’m watching this, so I’m headed in the right direction. I think I already have one of those lamps too, I’ll have to take it out. At least it’s an El Niño but it’s so dry. Thanks for the restful nights🙏
This video is screaming my name. I suffer from SAD a lot. Here in Berlin, Germany winters are very dark and gloomy. Sometimes there is not a single ray of sunshine for three weeks in a row and then when the sun is here it's usually just a few hours or max two days before it goes back to another long period of darkness and apart from it being dark all day it's pitch black outside before 8:30am und after 3:30pm. This lack of sunshine is dragging me down every year. Last year I went to the Canary Islands in November and when I returned to Belin it just hit me in the face and I felt worse than ever before because the contrast was so terribly bad. I've tried everything from eating certain foods that are supposed to help, going outside every day no matter what the weather is like, cardio excercises every other day, daylight lamps, sticking to routines, meeting as many people as I can, going to therapy,... it all just helps me to survive but it doesn't make me feel good or even happy. Things I usually enjoy just don't feel enjoyable to me anymore in winter. The only thing I haven't tried yet is taking medication but I'm still reluctant in trying that because as soon as the sun comes back (which it luckily did a few days ago) my mental health instantly changes and I feel perfectly normal and happy (maybe even a bit manic the first days of spring) and I'm scared that with medication I don't get that feeling of pure happiness anymore as soon as the sun comes back.
As a Scandinavian I can confirm we just try to make it comfy. Personally winter is my favourite season, maybe it’s because I’m not good with the hot weather cause again I’m Scandinavian but the cozy feeling is just the best, sitting with a hot drink (especially hot chocolate) with a warm blanket watching something on the tv while snow is falling or just it getting dark outside is very comforting. Also the air is just so much nicer, also so many more outfits to wear, I prefer baggy clothes and while crop tops and stuff are fine I prefer my hoodies but it’s too hot outside to wear it in the summer.
@@SarahLavenderASMR yaa, I am🥰 Thank You Very Much for replying me, All the best for your journey to 1M as we all support you and stay healthy and prosperous and love you😊😊😊🫶🫶🫶
Great video. I’d love it if you did this for the summer too because I experience seasonal depression during the summer and I love the winter cozy season. It’s not nearly as cared or talked about as winter SAD though… :(
😊❤ yes ”Frilufsliv” is how I grew up. One of the most amazing memories I have from Sweden is going outside in the winter, ice skating on a lake (the sound of skates on the ice is so special) and brake to sit in the sun to enjoy hot chocolate and sandwiches ❤️ The best!
off topic but I think you would look really good with bangs!! I mean you already got beautiful curtain bangs so also full bangs would look amazing on you 🩷🩷
Aw Sarah I’m sorry you get sad during the winter. I find the best things to get me out of my slump are to treat it like I’m a bear hibernating 🐻 and taking care of myself. I like to put UA-cam on my tv with “coffee shop jazz ambiance” so it changes my scenery when there are limited public spaces. Boil pots for aromatherapy. I’m also teaching myself how to play the piano using a keyboard I can plug headphones into. Scrapbooking or DIY home decor is fun too. Yoga, cooking, baking. Anyone reading this I hope you enjoy your hibernation 🐻💕
Hello from Denmark (Scandinavia) 😊 "Friluftsliv" is a Danish word which translates directly to "Free-air-life". My favourite activity in the fall and winter is to go to a shelter/campsite in the forrest and do a bonfire, make stickbread and drink coffee while the kids play. We live in Northern Jutland which has many big forrests and sandy beaches. Our backyard is a pinewood forrest 😅 we also sometimes sleep outside in shelters. If you should ever go to Denmark you are so welcome here! ❤
I have agoraphobia and can’t leave my house unless I’m with someone. I also struggle with other mental health issues. Your videos really help calm me down and make me feel less alone in my struggle. Thank you. ❤
There's a book called Wintering by Katherine May. It's really good and discusses different ways to cope with winter the season and those dark times in your life that feel like emotional winters.
Peppermint tea is pretty common in the US, at least where I’ve lived! New England, New York, New Jersey, California, and Washington state. I love your videos ❤
i hate winter so much, man. i hate how harsh it feels just feels to step outside. it's so unpleasant. how dry the air is. how short the days are. ugh. i'm so glad it's on its way out. i can have really bad spring allergies but even still i'd rather deal with them with a smile hehe
You’re my favorite ASMRtist! Thank you for helping me relax and calm down before I go to sleep. Also, I took you up on your sponsor discount this week, something I’ve never done before in a UA-cam video, but, I’ve been looking for a new vitamin regimen and I’m excited to try this one. Keep up the awesome videos, you’re excellent!
I love your videos and wish you could do asmr video full of light triggers 🤍 Pen light is my favourite trigger but it’s often used quite shortly in videos 🥺
