George Harrison on the first guitar solo showing what a good slide player he was.

One of George Harrison's least known slide guitar solos (2:54 >)

Like Gary Moore, Alvin Lee could convey deep emotion in his playing. Blues doesn’t get much bluer than this.

Loved Alvin Lee, saw him twice in Ten Years After and 3 times solo, he had such a great tone and amongst the fastest fingers ever. From Ten Years After, try I'd Love to Change the World, if you know it, do Standing at the Station and brace for the train arriving. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶

A great song and more subtle than some of his earlier stuff. An English blues icon, one of the best to come out of Woodstock.
Perhaps the only half decent solo Harrison ever did. It does fit well but Alvin steals the show with his solo. While he had moderate success, I don't think he got the full credit he deserved.
    Great song and great reaction.

Who Alvin Lee? He never worked for Zappa. Zappa refers to Alvin Lee in one of his songs as a joke, forgot the title though.

@@mor4725 On Tinsel town rebellion he introduces all the musicians at the end of the album.
Maybe I'm forgetting something. It's been a while. That's the only album of Zappa's I've heard it on so maybe I missed something.

@@damonmurray3905 That's Zappa taking the piss of guitarists that can play faster than him, he mentions Al Di Meola too.

Its funny that Alvins woman cheated on him with Alvins friend and neighbor George. And George does the slide solo on the song about the whole incident. English people are funny.

@@Shamacanada I may have to get a copy of that book then. Does she explain how she knows this? She was Alvin's girlfriend, but that is quite some inside info she has there. Not to mention, how on earth did it not break the friendship between George and Alvin?

Glad this is what I thought it was.
George Harrison gives this song something it wouldn't have had otherwise. Doesn't sound so much like his signature slide style yet, but there's a melodicism and economy that his best solos invariably have. Lee sounds heavier than when I first encountered him, a fine, - fleet-fingered - when he wants to be- guitarist for sure. 😊
