My family is Persian and my parents used to blast Kiosk's music all the time for me. This song was especially my favorite and it still is! I just get punched in the gut from nostalgia when I listen to this song. I'm not a big fan of new 2000's Persian music but these guys are the only ones I enjoy!
By far this was one of the best traks i have seen from us iranians... Have to admit much better than all them L.A vedios, these guys deserve it all .....dametooooonnn gaarmmm cheers
vali pejman meedoonee, agar vaughan kar-eh eena-roh doost daree, be bacheha begoo keh beran bekharanesh. Its worth their money to support great artists like this.
Absolutely awsome !! What a fresh change from the everyday Iranian pop that we hear. Here is Los Angeles 4 or 5 compser dominate the scene and their works start sounding a lot alike. This is a fresh and new approach.Great job !
Love it!! I went to their concert on Nowrooz (2010) in the Netherlands!! It was so great!! Amazing band; aboslutely one of the best Iranian bands in history!
I'm glad that some of the new bands coming out of Iran take the time and effort to produce such meaningful lyrics. It's what's been missing from Iranian music in the recent years (mainly those produced in the States.) The Video is something else entirely. What an ingenious way to show that the lyrics are in fact what comes out of everybody's mouth in today's Iran.
KIOSK is one of many many talented bands started in Iran. When Iran gets free, the culture will blossom more than ever! No more L.A. crap. I have bought all three KIOSK albums, love them all!
my irani friend sent me the translation..i think this is not only true in iran...it is in all other countries...maybe a bit of difference in cultural color......this song is a winner...
But even if you would listen to the version with English subtitles you wouldn't still fully understand and appreciate it unless you are 100% Iranian! This song perfectly describes all the problems we have in the Iranian society today. It makes me laugh and it makes me cry. It's one of the best songs I've heard. I've listened to it almost 100 times and I still love it and haven't got tired of it. You've got to be truely Iranian to understand and appreciate it.
Wow!!! I'm shocked to discover this fenomenal creation , so different from what we use to listen regard to iranian music i ❤ it all, the sound, the video even though i dont understand the meening of the words.
Arash, I am simply speechless. I had gave up on Persian "modern" music long ago. Finding Kisosk has been a breadth of fresh air. For the first time in a very long time, I actually feel proud of one of my country mates. Bravo mate, job well done.
But the music aside, it's the lyrics which have simply astounded me. You have a very sharp grasp of the Iranian society, one which I can easily relate with. The songs are witty, humorous, amusing and sometimes even comical. The use of oxymorons in this song is capering indeed. Your thoughtful translation of the song here on UA-cam shows your commanding knowledge of English language.
best video I've ever seen in my life ever how did you made them to sing it like this, SPECIALLY THE MONEYGAURD MAN with a klashinkof!!! mifahmam ke chekare bozorgi kardin!!!
This is one great video indeed! I love the improvisation of the people involved and the lyrics that go along the people's character.
baba ina kheili honarmandan .. dameshoon garm. Aslan dar tarikhe iran hamchin goroohe moosighi naboode ke inchenan khallaagh, musiqidan, shaer, rebel, and what more can I say ... I am tongue tied. I think this is the best music band in the world that I know about, regardless of nationality or language
Dear Sia, just a personal idea: Sib-zamini (potato) is the symbol of carelessness in Farsi. Gheyrat means 'Zeal'. So, the combination is merely a 'conflict' against "Chinese Development" as a government slogan. In a nut shell, the poet asks the government "Do you want to forward the country by a Chinese type of economic development with carelessness ?"
im persian grew up in germany and uk a, so im half persian. i also feel that this is the actual problem why iran is where it is today!! if we could all just be honestl and genuinely happy for another and start meaning what we say then iran would be amazing place !!
your welcome! Because of the letter number limitation I couldn't tell you the interesting point! Actually, in west Tehran a bridge called Sheykh Fazlolah passes over Sattar Khan avenue! Awesome phrase Arash! keep up the good work,
Absolute top top lyrics video and of course the band, it has such a homey tone to it I guess left or right we are all in love with this old country even though we have a funny way to showing it
kheili khub! ham nava ham nama! ama ye pishnahad, jaye ye sahne khalie, unam meidune qazvine ke mituni bedune dor zadan dor meidun beri emamzade hasan!lol
Great music man, very great. Who cares wether it sounds like dire straits or not, the power is within the lyrics, which are so brave and original. Takecare man and good luck.
These guys (next to Abjeez and few other bands) are simply revolutionizing Iranian Music. i really enjoy their style. I will be going to their coming concert this May. Best of luck to them.
Perfect, very well done,I wish I had the fonts to express all my thoughts after watching this music-video in farsi, but still I need to say; this was the combination of good music and better video. This is a work of art,I know how long does it take you to find, convince and film all those handpicked characters.I could write a paper about the unique production of this video, but I'll just let you know, with those facilities and that under control situation of filming in public places, you just did pro.
Even though Rockstar's song came out first in 2005, their video was released in June 2007. Eshghe sorat video was posted before, in April 07. Many of art ideas are not that original anyways. I am sure there are many many similar videos around. Even though this one's lip syncing is not as good as Rockstar's, but comparing budget and time, this one is done very nice. (sorry I mistakenly gave a plus to the previous comment, saying this was a rip-off. I don't know how to take it back now)
Just bought the Album Eshghe Sorat off iTunes after first becoming aware of Kisok via this video on UA-cam. The musical similarity to Dire Straits and Leonard Cohen is of course undeniable, but I believe you have introduced your own twists and turns so it's more of a adaptation than a copycat. Again, I am not an expert on Persian music but I don't know of any other Iranian groups doing Rock/Blues. It is such a welcome diversion to the usual pop-filled junk coming out of CA.
Sattarkhan is a key figure in mashroote, the first Iranian movement to democracy in 1905 ended with establishment of parliment. Sheykh Fazlolah is the "father of islamic revolution" who was against mashroote, believed that Iran should have been ruled by Islam not parliment. At that critical period, our national heros like Sattar khan saved the country from division, 70 years later again Sheikh Fazlolah's believers highjacked Iranian's revolution in hope to gain democracy.
Style doesn't matter, he sounds good and music is played professionally. I like their quality. Compare them with andy and you'll notice the difference.

Discovered this on an app, Radiooooo, and now I'm addicted to this good band. Greetings from Brazil!

Guilherme Mendes Cool!
Words he sings is completely nonesense.

Best irani clip ever watched. already began enjoying KIOSK after watching first three clips.
