Fiddlerman rocks! I wanted to buy a violin from them 2 years ago and when I described my climate conditions to them they told me that a wooden instrument would not work for me and to get a carbon fiber violin, which they didn't even sell. They could have just tried to sell me anything just to make a buck, but they were totally honest and gave me great advice even though it cost them a $3,000 sale.
Beautiful sound!!! I am playing now on the violin my father bought around 1955 in Salzburg, where he was studying at the Academy of Arts. He wanted to have a violin and went to a small shop runned out by an old woman called "Frau Geige". But he never played the violin seriously and it ended up hanging on the wall in the living-room. My whole happy childhood it was staring at me, but I played piano so I never freed the instrument from the wall. 2,5 Years ago, when I was 45 years old, I went with my parents and husband to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdan to hear violinist Joshua Bell playing. He drove the sound of his Strad right into my heart. It looked so easy! A wish bubbled up. One week later I took my first violin-lesson. My father gave me his old violin and it finally got the right care, new strings and other components. The lessons went so well! Still I enjoy practicing every day and my dad was so extremely proud on me! Last year again I went with my parents and husband to the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. We had such a great time. But two weeks later my daddy passed away completely unexpected. The Concertgebouw ended up to be the last place where I saw my dad happy and healthy. His violin means so much to me. It is a connection to my happy childhood and the loving rememberence of my dad. So I will never, never give up this violin!!! But my playing is improving and I need another violin to sustain my technique. I am not rushing for another instrument but my teacher is encouraging me to find a more appropriate instrument for my level. So this Fiddlerman can be a good next step on my stairscase! (BTW: last summer after the concert I had the privilege of talking with Joshua Bell for some minutes. I told him how he inspired me to start playing the violin and he loved my story, had some good advices and wrote some nice sentences in my homework-book)
Thank you Zlata. I've been a follower of Fiddlerman since Pierre first started his community online. It's the best place for beginning players to get advice and support from peers, and plenty of worldwide members to play along with in the projects. Your channel has been one of my best inspirations in learning to play. I love the way professional musicians review instruments of lower cost (and quality?), so those of us who can't afford the best can still afford something good. Thanks again, and congratulations to Pierre for having you rate his violin so highly.
I've been playing on one of these since September, and have been very impressed. Compared to my previous Cecilio starter violin (which, to be fair, cost less than a third of its price), the major improvements with the Concert are a) you can get a lot more sound out of the G string, and b) probably because of its thinner finish, it seems to resonate more - in particular, it's much easier to identify the "ring tones" on this instrument. Obviously, I don’t need to enter this giveaway…but, if you have a low-cost starter violin and are looking to upgrade, I think _you_ should.
Thank you for this info! I am the mom teaching her 6 year old son how to play using your videos. Being that he is 6, I bought him an inexpensive violin. From this video, I learned that quality counts, and poor quality can impede progress. Good to know, and thank you for the review!
Hi Zlata, hahah het begin van deze video is weer hilarisch en zoo herkenbaar helaas. Wonderful (and comical) review! I have eyed Fiddlerman violins many times. Playing violin had been my lifelong aspiration but I always put off making the purchase and going for it....having children, I just always seemed to spend the money on something I felt they would want or need. That and discouraging remarks from family and friends (Them: Do you even know how to play the violin? Me: Of course not, I've never had one! Them: You can't learn violin online, you need personal lessons. Me: If I ever get one, I bet I do learn online!) For Christmas, my oldest son surprised me with my first violin! Of course, it is a student violin but I love it and because of sentimentality will probably be buried with it (haha) but it has finally given me the drive to get started playing the violin. Can't wait for the day I am able to evoke the beautiful sounds that you do from the violin (and hopefully this one!)

Yes I would considered buying this violin and Yes I would like you to review anything that has to do with a violin. I always enjoy reviews, they help me make an informed decision. Have you reviewed any violin song books?
@@violinlounge Yes. Hal Leonard Corp has a series of 101 Songs for Violin. The songs are easy arrangements for beginners. I have a few of the books, because I want to play songs that I am familiar with. It helps keep me motivated to hear something I'm familiar with and is easy to play. I recently bought one of these violins, I like it a lot, it is easier to play in tune than on my electric violin in the same price range. The bow is very easy to handle compared to my other CF bow.
I have various violins and a viola and an electric violin 🎻. My most valuable one is a David Teckler as ot is inscribed inside new the sound post. Alas I took it to a violin dealer in London after examined it he discovered a crack only offering 1000 pounds for it. I decided not to sell it as I remain sceptical what violins are worth. I think the player is responsible how beautiful a violin can sound. Certain players feel more comfortable with a certain type of violin 🎻. I believe the more you play it the tone will become more sweeter. Adam Beanstock
Exactly and the worth for a maker is something entirely different than what an instrument is worth to an individual if it's a good fit. My current violin sounded horrible in the beginning, because it wasn't played for half a century.
Hi Zlata, You are looking great! Did you hurt your left index finger? I see a bandage! Yes this violin would look and sound great in my home. Congratulations on the 10,000! Celebration is definitely appropriate. Best wishes, Joe
Your UA-cam videos are always great. I especially enjoyed your bow review. I would like to see a review and comparison of Ifstrings (Infinite Strings) violins (which I believe are "benchmade") to Fiddlerman/Holstein violins, and have violins at about a compatible price to Fiddlerman/Holstein violins. Fiddlerman workshop vs Ifstrings Master, and Fiddlerman "benchmade" to Ifstrings Private Stock. Probably asking way too much, but you asked.
I just ordered the Fiddlerman Concert violin today. I purchased a B-Stock to save a little money. I’m a beginner, so I hope it will be good to carry me through years of enjoyment and growth. The cheap one I have won’t stay in tune, so at least my horrible playing will be in tune!
The fact that this comes with a carbon fiber bow that I don't have I would love to have it because of my epilepsy and seizures I am afraid of breaking my pernambuco bow. But I believe that the carbon fiber won't break.
Have not yet started to learn the violin but it is something I really want to do when I can. It is good to know that there are good quality instruments , such as this one, available at a reasonable price for beginners.
I liked the way this UA-cam started! Very jokingly!! 😁😁🎻🎻😁😁 I am currently playing on a German violin Sandler which cost me just $300. I would of course like to have this Fiddlerman violin but I think you should give it to your most deserving pupil. I will be happy for him/her.
@@violinlounge Yes, I did mean the violin. The reason for asking about that is because the sounds of it will be loud - I think - and I do not want to make any noise at my home
Hi, Do you think this violin would be good enough for professional level playing, if looking for a non-expensive instrument to be used for outdoor shows or for the purpose of practicing during travels?
Please tell your old German that he/she is still the best! I liked the video. I am still quite happy with 'l Amata, my beautiful Tsjech violin. (Famous violins have names, so why shouldn't mine have a name?) Sometimes I miss the 7/8 violin.
Between my 26€ China Violin, I bought to see just how bad it could be, and the one I 3d printed myself, which sounds decent for what it is but really isn't suited for a beginner, I really would love to have a reliable violin like that.
@@violinlounge not to bad I think ua-cam.com/video/yhXYU56jQEY/v-deo.html but its quite heavy and a violin teacher said it sounds like it got a hotel muter on. I want to improve on it till it can be an affordable and a decent choice for beginners
@@creative3ddesignprinting944 Wow, that already sounds very good! Indeed like there's a mute, but the sound is quite nice. If there is a way to make the front and back thinner or of more resonant material, it would improve.
@@violinlounge thank you. I'm working on that. Right now I'm trying to organize CT scanning the violin teachers violin and basing my second one on that.

Not that particular one, but I've had some students come in with Stentor violins and in general the quality and set up are good. They are not special and wood is simple, but they are good playing instruments.
Looks like a dream purchase for me. Unfortunately as 100% novice and not that wealthy I can't justify such a magnificent instrument just yet. I'll keep searching.
OMG! So, this is The Beast! I hope I win! Now, after seeing your review, the main question left without response is: will the shoes be included in the case?😉🌹🥂 Thank you for giving it to us! (Even if you keep the shoes!)
I'm sorry to say that, but it sounds quite flat and not full and round and vibrant :-( as if it lacks personality. But then again, that's too much to ask for this price?

My violin is from fiddlerman and they are very good violins. My teacher was impressed when she inspected the instrument. I have the apprentice though, but it's quite good. I'd like to have the upgrade!!
Aurea Freniere great to read that, Aurea!
I currently have a Stentor Conservatoire (which I love), but this would be an amazing upgrade 🎻🥰
Ooh I would love to have a violin like this! I'm planning to go buy a violin this year instead of renting. But it's really difficult to get a good idea of what's worth the money. This sounds lovely!
Ineke Scholten-Post yes, this would be a great option after a rental instrument!
Yes I would considered buying this violin and Yes I would like you to review anything that has to do with a violin. I always enjoy reviews, they help me make an informed decision. Have you reviewed any violin song books?
bang mon good idea! Do you have some suggestions?
@@violinlounge Yes. Hal Leonard Corp has a series of 101 Songs for Violin. The songs are easy arrangements for beginners. I have a few of the books, because I want to play songs that I am familiar with. It helps keep me motivated to hear something I'm familiar with and is easy to play. Here are some of the titles: 101 Movie Hits for Violin, 101 Broadway Songs for Violin, 101 Hit Songs: for Violin and 101 Classical Themes for Violin. And a link:

Beautiful sound
I'm in love with the Fiddlerman Soloist.
Great, are you getting it soon?
I recently bought one of these violins, I like it a lot, it is easier to play in tune than on my electric violin in the same price range. The bow is very easy to handle compared to my other CF bow.
Gentlejoy great to read that!
@@violinlounge yeah the player is the most sensitive to how it sounds as the violin 🎻 is right next to the ear . Adam Beanstock
Hi Zlata,
You are looking great!
Did you hurt your left index finger? I see a bandage!
Yes this violin would look and sound great in my home.
Congratulations on the 10,000! Celebration is definitely appropriate.
Best wishes,
Joe
Joe Spr thank you, Joe! I cut vegetables the night before... 🙈
I bought one of these last year. excellent violin
eric great to read that!
0:33 I love both 😍😍😍
Your UA-cam videos are always great.
I’d love to review then! You could make it happen by hinting Infinite Strings about my channel. 😉
That is so generous of you! I would love to win this violin for my little sister who is going to need a full size very soon! 🙏🏼😍
Wow, how wonderful of you to ask the violin for your sister! Looking forward for you to enter the give away.
I just ordered the Fiddlerman Concert violin today. I purchased a B-Stock to save a little money. I’m a beginner, so I hope it will be good to carry me through years of enjoyment and growth. The cheap one I have won’t stay in tune, so at least my horrible playing will be in tune!
Congrats on your new violin, Lisa!
VIOLIN LOUNGE by Violinist Zlata thank you!
A much needed video. Lovely violin I would like to have it.
Check out my latest video in which I give one away. It's still possible to enter...
The fact that this comes with a carbon fiber bow that I don't have I would love to have it because of my epilepsy and seizures I am afraid of breaking my pernambuco bow. But I believe that the carbon fiber won't break.
Amanda Saunders yes, they are very durable!
I love mine. When I took it out of the case on day one it was even in tune!!!
Cool!
Haha nice of you to throw away the black one :) sounds great and has a lot off potential.
I loved it! I had various takes...
I am very impressed with this violin, based on how it sounds when you play it and your very positive review of it.
Yes, I was positively surprised as well. What kind of violin do you play?
Have not yet started to learn the violin but it is something I really want to do when I can. It is good to know that there are good quality instruments , such as this one, available at a reasonable price for beginners.
@@dmswan3172 This would be a great deal to start!
Eugenie van Zyl That’s kind, Eugenie!
Thanks for the review! Is it possible to use headphones?
Do you mean on the violin? For that you need to look for an electro-acoustic violin.
@@violinlounge Yes, I did mean the violin. The reason for asking about that is because the sounds of it will be loud - I think - and I do not want to make any noise at my home

@@violinlounge thanks quite much for your help!
Oh, and I enjoyed your funny video, that was very entertaining!
4theRun great to read that, don’t tempt me to do more crazy stuff. 😄
Hi,
Do you think this violin would be good enough for professional level playing, if looking for a non-expensive instrument to be used for outdoor shows or for the purpose of practicing during travels?
I think it would be suitable. If you travel much and play outside, you might even consider a carbon violin.
Please tell your old German that he/she is still the best!
I liked the video. I am still quite happy with 'l Amata, my beautiful Tsjech violin. (Famous violins have names, so why shouldn't mine have a name?)
Sometimes I miss the 7/8 violin.
Anka Voskuilen haha, yes, he will get over it! Beautiful name!
Looks good value and quality.
Ron Black certainly! And I’m a picky violin teacher who worked in a violin shop for almost twelve years...
It was a big mistake when I bought my first violin from Facebook market place. The second one I bought from a luthier.
Yes, it’s really hard to find a good violin. Great that you found a good one now! 👍🏻
Thoooose shoes though! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ You look fabulous 🌹
ruba zuheir haha, thanks, Ruba!
Between my 26€ China Violin, I bought to see just how bad it could be, and the one I 3d printed myself, which sounds decent for what it is but really isn't suited for a beginner, I really would love to have a reliable violin like that.
Galaxy Kitty Studios wow, 3D printed your own violin? I’m curious how it’s like!
@@violinlounge not to bad I think ua-cam.com/video/yhXYU56jQEY/v-deo.html
but its quite heavy and a violin teacher said it sounds like it got a hotel muter on.
Galaxy Kitty Studios very interesting! Keep me up to date!
I have watched lots of fiddlerman videos and they all sound very good.
Amanda Saunders they’re doing a great job!
it looks and sounds great. love your channel. I would like you to review the Antonio Gulianni by kennedy violins. love to you and your twins Paul
Paul Barnett thank you, Paul, and regards from Louise and Victor. You could make that review happen by hinting them about my channel. 😉
@@violinlounge what would I have to do tell them that you want to review one of there violins
Paul Barnett yes, recommend my channel and say you would like a review for their instruments. Thank you! 😊
Love your intro 😁👍🥰
Krystle Perez if I ever fail as a violinist, I could work for Tel sell... now that’s some motivation for the violin career. 😄
Hello. Can you tell me the weight of the violin? For me weight is an issue so would be great to know. Thank you!
Oops, I already gave it away. Perhaps you can contact Fiddlershop to ask.
Can you do a video comparing the DZ Strad 509 Old Spruce or 601 vs the Fiddlerman Master violin?
I might!
@violinlounge I decided to just take a chance and bought the fiddlerman master on clearance sale for b stock varnish blemish. 🤗
@@robhowe8353 congrats on the new fiddle 🥳
Great video. I would love to own this violin. ❤️
Steve Szejna thanks, Steve, what kind of violin do you currently play on?

Steve Szejna how do you like it?
Violin Lounge by Violinist Zlata I like it very much. I also have a DZ Strad viola.
This one sounds so much better than the one I have. What was the beginner song you played?

I am sorry ma'am to bother you... I have a question, please. I want to buy the Don't Fret Finger to my violin ( Concert Violin), but I am not sure about its size. Should I buy 5.5 in (14 cm) or 8.1 in (20 cm)?
Your assistance is appreciated!
Hope ful I wouldn’t recommend using that, instead consider this: bit.ly/2QD5Nuj

Yes! It went so fast!
Has anyone tried Stentor Verona? Is it considered as good and playable?
Not that particular one, but I've had some students come in with Stentor violins and in general the quality and set up are good. They are not special and wood is simple, but they are good playing instruments.
Looks like a dream purchase for me. Unfortunately as 100% novice and not that wealthy I can't justify such a magnificent instrument just yet. I'll keep searching.

I'm sorry to say that, but it sounds quite flat and not full and round and vibrant :-( as if it lacks personality. But then again, that's too much to ask for this price?
Of course one cannot expect a real concert violin at this price point, just a decent violin.
