Funny how Lee Child mentions that Jack Reacher has an adventure once a year, in time for a book to come out....it made me think that I'd love one of the novels to be about a month in Jack's life when he's NOT kicking ass.
Just him eating, walking, buying new clothes, going to Blues clubs, walking some more, hitchiking, eating....and of course drinking coffee.

How could he have let Tom Cruise play Jack Reacher??????????? Good interview. Never thought that a British writer could write such an American character as Jack Reacher.

Anybody can talk to me about Lee Child and/or jack Reacher, just don't begin by saying "Oh, that's that Tom Cruise film, right?" or I'll have to revert to Reacher's Rules!
Joking aside, keep up the great work Lee!

1st choice Liam Nieson or Jason Stratham,
    2nd choice Vin Diesel
last choice Tom Cruise, he looks like an elf in the fight scene 5 against one.. dude(Lee Child) what were you thinking!?

i don't think they would be able to lift their finger to click on the dislike button if they were beaten by reacher :P

@veegta83 All of them are awesome! I think Killing Floor is the first one, but I read them completely out of order, and it didn't really change much. The sub-plots are more important than the long-term plot.

I agree with your choice of Liam Neeson. I can't understand why they cast Tom Cruise because one of Reacher's foremost qualities is that he's a very big guy. Nothing against small men, but he acts like a big man, cool, uncompromising with villains and modestly self-assured. A lot of big guys have this kind of composure. I'm baffled as to why they chose Cruise for the role.

I think you'll find Tom Cruise chose himself; watch the opening credits again.

Nobody chose Cruise for the character. Cruise chose himself for it.

Are we forgetting that Tom cruise is the man who played hotshot maverick in top gun? A high school quarterback in all the right moves? A gung HO marine in Born on the fourth of July? Ethan hunt in mission impossible? He can pull this off

Ah, yes. That makes sense. I love the books but I am so used to visualising Reacher as a big guy. Shame.

my friend (also a Reacher/Child fan) decided that Cruise must have paid him.. like a million bucks.. I mean, Child created him to be something.. right..so he knows who He is (Reacher I mean..) wtf

Tom Cruise cannot BE Jack Reacher. The only hope for true fans is for the first movie to bomb and someone else replace the Ego. Jack is 6 ft 5 240/250 He is Jack Reacher. Crazy

That was a bit awkward all round wasn't it? The bit where they are waiting for the credits to come up was brilliant, their faces! I think, once the credits started rolling and they started talking, that Lee is giving Stacey some advice on production values.

@farooqmm1987 I think so, but if you're a die-hard King fan, then probably not. Mind you, Lee Child's books are rather simplistic: there is a problem, hero kicks ass, hero has sexual relationship with girl, hero leaves unannounced. It's not literature, but it's a great read.

The interview is sitting to close. It's making him nervous, and he keeps nodding his head. The nodding is making Child turn his head away.

Tom got the face I think pretty good... but too much expression.. okay, Vin Diesel is not black, watch triple X, and he does some of his stunts.. but he is shorter.. I probably will watch it just because I read faster than Lee Child writes.. I think Stratham might be a bad actor but he is a better tough guy, game over..
