InterCity classs 87s and class 90s at London Euston station on November 15th 1989.Edited together from two of my other uploads,Trains at London Euston part 1 and 2.
Agreed, this it when they were proper trains, with a name plate on the loco pulling a train you knew you were boarding something special, now it's just glorified trams on our railways with uncomfortable cheap 'Ryanair' style seats not designed for long journeys.
Sadly those plans have now been scrapped due to Covid-19 ☹️. The overhauled locos and stock have been returned to the leasing company and have either been re-deployed or put into storage. A real shame as it would of given the the 90's and MK 4's a new lease of life and they looked great in the Grand Central colours too.
Very interesting formation of the very first train in your clip: - 2 x RUBs + some named Pseudo "Pullman Cars", that went on to become TFs on Greater Anglia (who WITHDREW them in favour of no catering EMUs!). NO RESTAURANT CARS ON GA ANYMORE. NOT A REQUIREMENT OF THE "FRANCHISE"!!! We're going backwards. THAT'S PROGRESS!
@@graemekornicki6810 Yeah they have no character. Then again the people that came before us probably said the same thing when steam trains disappeared.
These are PROPER trains!

Back when *corona* was still a alcoholic drink
@@mrcheese725 Back when corona made fizzy soft drinks
I prefer the pendos!
90 010 looks brand new! Miss the 87s :-(
Most of the 87s went to the scrapyard. Fortunately the 90s were bought by Greater Angila when Virgin Trains West Coast got rid of them.
And the 90s from greater anglia are going to freight!
Great videovery good quality nite shots too.

Hi Great to see this era of time, one of my favourites in time. Great video, 🔔Subscribe🔔 and Liked 👍Thumbs Up👍
God, class 90s are quick & they'll soon be used on passenger services again with Grand Central from Euston - Blackpool North 😀

It's weird seeing a Mk3 set without a DVT.
These Trains were the Parenting Brothers of the West Coast Route Fleet Families (Operators)
