- Which raster editing software is right for you? In this 10 points comparison, I will do a brief review of Adobe Photoshop vs. Affinity Photo 2.0 Both of these programs are great for photo editing and graphics design, but each one has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Good stuff here - thanks! I just 'found' Affinity Photo this month and am in LOVE with it already! Never used Photoshop before so I guess I won't know what I'm missing! Haha
Affinity Photo V2 is a great entry software into raster editing ^_^
Does it have that Puppet warp tool of Ps? Sky replacement, neural filters?
Did you mention anything beyond ACR?
Focus stacking, exposure blending, composites, layers, masking, text, books?
Most wanted feature in Affinity Photo is pattern preview with working clone tool, something essential for working with seamless textures.
can it work on .dds files?
I'm not sure I understand the benefit of smart objects. Not every tool in PS works with smart objects either. It seems to me the live adjustments and effects which Affinity Photo has just treats a layer object as if it were a smart object without having to take the extra step of making it a smart object seems much easier.
I think another thing to talk about would be the Artistic Filters which PS has but are lacking in Affinity as well as a comparison of the PS Camera Raw vs the Affinity Developer Persona and how they compare.
4:00 I used to use Capture One. You bought a perpetual licence, yes, but buy a new camera and you need to get a new licence. Discounted, yes, but the perpetual licence vs regular payments isn't so clear. Especially since C1 typically included a lot of new features in the annual release cycle.
Would love a comparison between pixelmator pro Vs affinity photo since they are both a one time purchase cost
That is an interesting idea thanks for the suggestion
The only thing is missing is the ability to download the mac version when you purchase a license. many paid software come with mac/win keys.
Just started out with Affinity Photo 2, and although I can do almost everything I was doing in PS, the Non-Scalability of the UI in AFP is a huge disadvantage for me. Other than that, and especially for the price - go for it
Can you elaborate you what you mean? Thanks! Just trying to figure out my moves lol
@@deebonash4487 AFAIK Affinity Photo has no option to increase the size of it´s UI - which means most of the icons and texts are very small and hard to read. PS isn´t that much better, but you can increase the UI/Font a bit. Could be a problem only, for an old goat like me though. :)
Look, Affinity is definitely a great product and contender, but while I wanted to love it during my test period, it never happened. My advice: use the free test period and decide for yourself. :)
those dartboards are from affinity design, right? I think affinity photo can't
Yes AP can't buuuuuut ua-cam.com/video/Nb9BmQ626uY/v-deo.html
I prefer to work on my iPad. Affinity and Ps on iPad is not even comparable.
Affinity is a winner right? ;>
affinity photo v2got tool selection no?
Manual selection yes, AI selection no
As a casual photographer, there is no way I can justify $30 a month for PShop.
They developed the software years ago and made their money years ago, so updates should just be a small amount.
I don’t understand this 30 per month. You can get the creative cloud subscription which includes photoshop and it’s 9.99 per month. Not sure if that’s different and other countries.
Use both programs. Think Affinity needs to start incorporating A.I in their selection tools. One advantage I feel Photoshop has over Affinity at present especially with it's content aware options in several tools.
The big deal for me are the huge jumps adobe makes with AI. I wish Affinity would start doing work towards that too. I mean if you just look at the generative fill tool... This alone is so huge you really really need to think deeply if this alone is NOT worth the price for Adobe especially if you are making money with it...
I have a preference for PhotoShop.. i just hate the cost.. if Afinity Photo was almost exactly like PS, i'd get it.. i can't stand gimp because of just how different it is from PS.
a
Photowhop is far better
