There's a potential problem with allowing students to gravitate to these attractors.
1 Students may become less meta stable, which is to say they won't develop other areas.
2 They could develop something like a 'bridge and roll' which won't work on a higher level. So is this ecological if all of a sudden they are in an environment where this doesn't work. Another example of this is not allowing ankle locks then later at brown belt they have to redevelope their game.
Regarding the rating system I've been thinking this for sometime. This could allow all belts to compete in the same competition. This would be particularly useful to allow high white belts to compete with lower blue belts.
Maladaptive tactics will dissipate eventually when they stop working. It's not a problem.
One of the major purposes of CLA is to keep attractors from getting too deep into a rut that you become maladaptive. If an athlete gets stuck too long, the coach steps in.
You cannot skip "elo" steps no matter what anyone says.
After hearing this idea about elo rating im trying my best to come up with a elo rating system 🤔 gonna keep you updated
