I really appreciated you reacting to this! The new stuff that Voiceplay is soo good, I really think that you can say that they have lately been doing stuff that is just... better. For mellow songs, I love Can't Help Falling In Love, an Elvis song Geoff arranged. No beatboxing so we get to hear Layne sing. He was the group's baritone until their previous beatboxer, Scott Porter, left to pursue acting. Bridge Over Troubled Water is also mellow and lovely. Also Geoff's arrangement. I love how the artists and arrangers have finally figured out that the bass voice is good for more than being a human bass guitar, and sounds fabulous carrying the melody. I could listen to Geoff's solo channel all day.
This is one of my favorite voiceplay covers. Like you said it is sooo smoth. It's an example that voiceplay doesn't need to bee theatrical to do great covers and Geoff doesn't need to hit the very low notes. I don't have one favorite cover. I have a list of my favorite covers and it's getting longer and longer.

My favorite is a bit of a deep cut but as a huge Billie Eillish fan, there’s just something about their Billie Eillish medley that really hits home. Plus the music video is actually quite good (almost spooky).

The Chris Stapleton version is what brought this song out of moth balls. I think George Jones did the original version in the 60s
