I own both pedals & while they're both great for different reasons, I have to say that the mojomojo is my go to pedal. The lows give it such a valve like warmness. Mojomojo wins for me.
I've always been a huge tube screamer fan, I think from this clip I prefer the mojo for rhythm and the screamer for lead. I like the way the highs are voiced on the screamer and the meatier lows of the mojo.
The Screamer is a timeless classic! I often use it as a standalone pedal plugged between the guitar and the amp for a mild drive and to enhance my tone, I can't get enough of the Mojo as well, maybe more modern sounding!
If you dont wanna blast your ears, the mojo is a great pedal to mimic a tube amp set to break up. Now hit it with the ts...this is THE brown sound. Magic combo...
William H. de Boer I prefer to use the mojomojo first, into a medium gain overdrive like the Fulltone Plimsoul, it gives a special flavour and a little volume boost perfect for soloing
I use the mojo pedal and I love it.It is versatile and uncompressed.I had to learn how to use an uncompressed OD. There is more headroom in the uncompressed sound this makes the pedal acts more like your amp. I use it as a boost and overdrive. It's great for gain stacking and great for fattening up any amp. With the mid boost mid cut switch and treble and bass knobs, there is a lot that can be done to your sound with tone shaping. When I hear the Tube Screamer it sounds great in other guitarist Rigs but I have never been able to produce a good sound with this pedal. Both pedals are great additions to any rig for my use I prefer the mojo . They are now priced around 49.00 when I bought mine it was 129.00.At 49.00 dollars it is a steal.
I see the mojomojo as a marshall amp in a pedal, it is more flexible than that, but that's how I prefer it. I have a TS type pedal in the signal chain before the mojomojo and they are fantastic together!
Clear winner is mojo mojo. Listen to the attack, and the dynamics because of the internal voltage being ramped up to around 30 volts is much better. If all your listening to is the "tone" of the pedal your missing most of what makes it sound much more like tubes. It's also why the led is bright. If you compare it to the led on other TC pedals, reverb, flanger, etc. you'll notice it.
I liked this demo and I have some questions: Does the mojomojo sound nice in front a solid state amp, does it sound good (EQ) in a live band mix? And does it push good other drive pedals? Great video, thinking of buying one after watching this :)
Gustavo Alvarez Thanx glad you liked it! About the Mojomojo, I had no experience with a solid state amp, but I can tell you that is great as a standalone drive, but it sounds even better as an always on pedal at the end of the chain to give more "balls" to the tone! Just try one you'll love it!
Little late, but it does. It's one of the nicest pedal you can put in front of any amp. Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) has it on his board all the time when touring and using whatever amp is available...
micheleguitar ...hi..I am expecting delivery of a Ruach woody fuzz pedal tomorrow. I have accidently stumbled on this make..what I've heard sounds pretty good..its a gamble, but what I paid for a unique looking pedal, had to give it a shot...let you know how it goes...J
micheleguitar ...got the Ruach fuzz pedal..I think it sounds great. Fuzz, tone & volume dials are easy to get the tone you want. Didnt come with a 9v battery connection cap fitted? Had to buy mains adapter..& away I went! May get 9v battery cap wired in by some tech if poss. Unique looking & well made. 1 left at Phase 1 on Amazon @ £45. I play this pedal through a US Tele into a Vox ac10 amp...works for me!!!!
micheleguitar mojomojo is a tweed style pedal. the ts808 is just a mid boost overdrive. apples and oranges. its best to use the mojo as a foundatiom drive then use the ts 808 to cut thru in a solo
I tell you guys.. That Mojo Mojo won't cut through on a live setting particularly with a loud drummer! Guitars should sound middish! The Tubescreamer is a time tested hell of a pedal!
I used them live in different context, they both sound good, maybe you should adjust the eq. in the Mojo (more treble, less bass). About the mids you're right! I always play with the "mids" on my amp at higher settings
What I love most about mojomojo is that it makes a single coil sound thick and warm. Just amazing!
keeprocking Yeah, lovely overdrive at a cheap price
I own both pedals & while they're both great for different reasons, I have to say that the mojomojo is my go to pedal. The lows give it such a valve like warmness. Mojomojo wins for me.
Dude, i have both too. If you have not already, stack the TS into the Mojo, amazing rock tone

Michael Whitten I sold the ts, and kept the mojo
If you like tubescreamer sound then you get a tubescreamer. No winners and no loosers in this competition, just different sound colours.
You're right! it's just to give an idea of how they sound like
You missed the magic combination: TS-808 into a Mojomojo
William H. de Boer I prefer to use the mojomojo first, into a medium gain overdrive like the Fulltone Plimsoul, it gives a special flavour and a little volume boost perfect for soloing
I was wanting to hear that.

David Scott Great! Thanx for sharing your experience with the Mojo!

Mojo wins hands down for me .. but like someone else mentioned its not contest .. you like what you like.

Brad Tomlin Thanx for the comment
I have both. If i should just use one pedal in a jam i would go for the tube screamer
if you want mojo sounds like tube screamer must down the switch, but mojo is pure and warm like no other!
Yes, they still look different, Mojo is more "modern sounding"
Mojo has a Klon vibe.
The tc asks for humbuckers.
Got both. If I'm honest although il always love the tubescreamer. The mojo does beat it for me.
I sold the 808 and kept the mojo, affordable and top sounding for me, very underrated
@@micheleguitar is the mojomojo casing metal or plastic
Ok revisiting this video today, actually I could see having both of these on my pedal board (floor in my studio)
Chris Strobel This is a good idea! So you don’t have to choose one or the other
Run the ts into the mojo and stack them...mojo low gain 10 o'clock, ts set as low gain/boost...

Thanks for the answer :D
No problem, ROCK ON!

At the early of the video,i thought you wanna play psychotic girl by the black keys
MojoMojo 100%
Mojomojo. Both great pedals 👍.
mojo mojo have little bit high gain then tube screamer ... mojo is new and best for me...
I honestly love them both!
Try a Ruach Glassydrive....
Never tried, I'll check it out!
micheleguitar ...hi..I am expecting delivery of a Ruach woody fuzz pedal tomorrow. I have accidently stumbled on this make..what I've heard sounds pretty good..its a gamble, but what I paid for a unique looking pedal, had to give it a shot...let you know how it goes...J
micheleguitar ...but I have the Mojomojo though...happy with it..find it a more creamy overdrive than others..but, must try the Ruach!
Sure keep me updated on this!

For me TC Electronic wins
They are both good drives, if you consider the difference in price, maybe TC could be the better choice
micheleguitar mojomojo is a tweed style pedal. the ts808 is just a mid boost overdrive. apples and oranges. its best to use the mojo as a foundatiom drive then use the ts 808 to cut thru in a solo
How well does the mojo mojo stack with the ts808 maybe with the 808 pushing the mojo since the mojo is more amp like?
They stack together pretty well, as you said in that order!
It makes a killer brown sound...love it!
i have both. to me mojo2 lacks clarity compared to TS808.
In my opinion Mojo is more dinamic, touch sensible, deep and amp-like. Sorry for history of that famous green pedal but to me here's no ... history.
I agree with you, the Mojo is a GREAT overdrive, and very underrated. For the price is the best overdrive in the market IMHO
mojo jojo

less treb and bass, and more mids on your amp, should do it
Tell that to Paul Gilbert 😆
I was going to say the exact same thing. ua-cam.com/video/bo8qUF8A368/v-deo.html
Hanes Gonzales Yeah the Mojo is like a staple for Gilbert
