Recorded on a Kala KA-SRMT-TRI tenor ukulele with a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, with a wedge of mango wood down the center of the back.

Under the Monkeypod is a solo fingerstyle ukulele song that I wrote about nearby Paki Park in Honolulu, Hawaii. Monkeypod trees provide a magical umbrella of shade on hot days and have a mystical aura under the stars. The song features beautiful arpeggiation, counterpoint, and cross-string melodies utilizing the re-entrant tuning of the ukulele (the high G string).
Written and recorded at the foot of Diamond Head on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, my recent album, Riding the Wave, features solo guitar, ukulele, and piano. By way of creative songwriting, refreshing acoustic instrumentation, and the flow of a live performance, the album inspires listeners to hold on for a journey through every color of the sonic spectrum.
