The Mission Summit was designed by the same guy who designed Off Grid Trailers Expedition…. figured you know that. Lots of commonalities that you seem to be a little less critical of when you’re walking through with Denny of OGT 😂. Having said that, this was a fair comparison. The Forte is better equipped, BUT the price reflects it.
I believe that MO is under new ownership. Have not figured out if that's good or bad. I believe that two big difference are. 1. Summit can fit in a 7 foot garage. MDC can fit in a 8 foot garage. 2. Summit can be towed by a Jeep wrangler or Bronco. (3,500 lb capacity vehicles) the MDC you need 5,000 pounds of capacity. Just watched an interesting video on the new Jeep wrangler. The minute you go bigger then 33" tires you loose the 5,000 pound rating. Only a few 2024 models that are stock with specific configurations carry the 5,000 pound rating.
The fridge is included on the summit. And both faucets need to be changed. If you want hot water the faucet has to be wide open to start getting hot water. Not very efficient on water supply. But a easy swop.
I have a summit now and I am really interested in the forte 9. Hopefully next weekend I can get to the south Carolina store to see it in person. I like that the table can stay up with the bed in place... Love the videos....
@@ROAOffRoad well yea it has air suspension and it and the mammoth overland and off grid and the ones you did in this video are all the only true off-road trailers but I like the lower profile to the patriot because it would mean the ability to take more off camber and its lighter since towing off-road is still towing so you always want the lightest you can so you don’t get stuck. I would love to see them all compared
Are you aware it isn't a Fort 9 it is a pronounced fawr, -tey or 4-tey in english. A word meaning skilled or excelling in a skill. It isn't a fort you stay in, off-road is it's forte(talent).
Sorry but that is actually incorrect. It is a last name and it is pronounced Fort. If you want we can give his contact and you can tell him he pronounces his name incorrectly… lol 😂
You might want to fully research the other brands that you are knocking/comparing, before attempting a comparison. Very misinformed comparison, and misleading.
@@pnwinfernopro Exactly what was misleading? There was no knocking. As a matter of fact he was very positive about the mission. Point out exactly what he knocked and what info was not correct. (Also he literally said at the start to feel free to fact check anything) Also, it was a back and forth comparison that was pretty straightforward. Walking from one to the other.
The stove body on the MDC Forte'9+ is made of corrosion-resistant Stainless Steel.
Great job comparing each and being fair with the specs. Both look to be awesome trailers but I’d hands down pick that MDC

Really good comparison walk through.
Thank you!

Interesting, good to know about the Wranglers especially!
What is the camper on the other side of the mission overland summit?
Garages I have seen in 15 states here in America are only 7 ' in height at garage door height
Is there a cable to charge the trailer from the truck while driving? While also pulling from the solar as well?
If you get an Anderson plug connection on your truck yes!

Good to know. Thanks for sharing the info.

Have you guys figured out the AC for the Forte9 yet and a rough cost?
No A/C. Similar to most teardrop they don’t have A/C.
Mission doesn’t have A/C not most small trailers in this category. 😊
@@ROAOffRoad it’s an option on the Mission now.
@@ROAOffRoad in the walk around Shane said one was in the works which is why I asked.
Can they configure the MDC forte 9 with an internal wet bath with cassette toilet by removing the seating or cabinets.
No, but we have a XT12 that has an inside bathroom.
Do a comparison to a patriot x3
We have thought about it but the Patriot is a tent trailer and cost close to twice… 🧐

That XT12 next to you Shane is very distracting!
It’s hard to focus on what you’re saying and doing! 😅
