Loved the scenery and the wildlife! You're getting better each time with your editing skills, too. Glad your Dad was able to get such a nice bull. I am always impressed with how far you guys are willing to go for a good animal.
Just goes to show how much work goes into these hunts! Another fantastic film 👍🏻 fantastic B Roll too. Love how this film shows not to get down on yourself, and give up after one option fails!
Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you! You are spot on with your comments about hunting legislation!!!! Keep up the good work!!! And keep the videos rolling on 😊😊😊
I came to this video anticipating my first elk hunt this fall. I have been searching the internet for experiences, gear reviews, and preparation tips. This video was fantastic!!! You made you feel like I was right there on the hunt with you. Congratulations on your harvest-great teamwork. Kudos on a great video.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I was really trying to post a new gear dump video before elk season but time just slipped away from me. If you have any specific questions feel free to reach out. Good luck this fall and let me know if you get your first Elk!
Heck of a hunt! It was so awesome seeing your Dad's reaction when he shot the bull. You guys earned that bull and the memories. Thanks for sharing your awesome hunt!
I love the interaction between you and your dad, especially right before the shot. Reminds me of me and my dad. Great on you for donating funds to those great organizations. I hope other channels and hunting/fishing/outdoor media groups do the same. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment! After 16 days in confined spaces together we were telling it pretty strait to each other at the end. It was awesome to have it come together like that. The donations might be small in the grand scheme of things but hopefully it brings some awareness also!
As a fellow WI resident that recently went on his first Elk hunt in 23 in Montana, I love watching and learning from your videos. Though it was a guided outback hunt I went on, your videos make me want to try tackling a DIY hunt sometime in the future. Unfortunately, my dad has MS and would never be able to do a hunt with me like you guys do. It is awesome seeing your dad out there with you, and I imagine that should make these hunts that much more memorable. Some of my fondest memories with my dad were made while hunting in Northern WI. I just wish I would've gotten into mountain hunting earlier in life when my dad was still well enough to do them with me. I always look forward to watching your new videos. Thanks for sharing your memories with all of us!
The first couple western hunts are the hardest. I’m sure you learned a ton from your outfitted hunt but if you think you will make western hunting a regular thing, I highly suggest trying DIY. The first few years are hard but you learn so much and once you figure it out, it seems to get so much “easier” and you regularly start to find success. I’m sure your dad would still love to live vicariously through your hunting stories. I have been thinking about offering a weekend class here in WI to teach some aspects of western hunting. I’m no expert but I feel like I have enough experience now to share some knowledge to newer western hunters (e-scouting, application strategies, gear info, food planning, etc). Thanks for the comment.
Absolutely. Glad you enjoy the longer films! Sometimes I feel it deters folks from clicking on it if they see it’s over 20-30 minutes. But it’s impossible for me to cut a 7 day film down to 20 minutes. I just feel like it doesn’t truly represent the hunt. Thanks for the comment!
@@heavyhunts If folks can sit through a 2 hour Marvel movie they can stomach 50 minutes of an elk hunt. Different strokes for different folks, but I like seeing the food, stove, sleep pad, and all the nuance that goes into these hunts. I hunt the way you do so I like the additional background content for tricks, tips, and tactics.
Enjoyed the film. Thanks for making this and bringing awareness. I have been as well getting everyone I know to sing up to Howl for wildlife. Another great advocates for hunters.
Keep up the good fight! Hunting is conservation and we all need to push to be better as well as support other states in the fight against those who are trying to take it away. And thanks for continuing to put out quality videos!

Adam and Jeff, another great hunt! This one was not only done well (again) but also had some extra excitement with the bears. I'm sure you guys were looking for momma bear to appear. Very nice Bull and showing the reality of what it takes.
Thanks for following the channel and commenting David. We think they must have been last year’s cubs but we definitely had our eyes peeled looking for a mama.
Great hunting video! We enjoyed everything. Beautiful landscape, great music, and cool to see the hunting equipment in use. The video was great at showing the highs and lows...other hunters getting the bulls first that you were tracking, the surprise bear cubs on the bottom flats, and congrats to Jeff getting the bull in the end! Great to see your support of hunting!
Your dads reaction to the shot was awesome! Another great video! It’s great to see how your channel has evolved. Agreed,There is way too many politics getting involved with hunting and conservation. You bringing light to that through your channel is commendable! I’m excited to see the next one!
Really great job on the video. Hard earned bull for sure. Your dad’s reaction after dropping the bull in his tracks was awesome! Congrats on another great video!
I definitely have been! We have made some amazing memories together. Having the channel has actually given us an excuse to hunt together a little bit more than we probably otherwise would have! Thanks for the comment!

Awesome video. I love the struggle you guys go through and still stay mentally strong and stick it, lack of food and seeing those bulls you were chasing getting harvested from under you. Way to stick it out and grind. It's great to see you and your dad together as well. Cant wait to get my sons out there. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the comment Chris. It can be hard to stay positive on some hunts but both of us go into these hunts knowing that quitting early is not an option. I feel like that is very important in a hunting partner especially when you’re a thousand or more miles from home and 6 miles into the mountains! Thanks for watching! Good luck with your boys when they are able to tag along!
Loved the hunt and video! Also appreciate the attention to the anti hunting movements. I'm just an average Joe but am paying more attention and donating to the cause.
I think a movement is happening where more hunters are starting to pay attention, especially out west, and nonresident and resident hunters are starting to develop a common voice to stand up and support each other regardless where the attacks on hunting are happening. As a Colorado Native & fellow Conservationist, could not agree more about the negative impacts that the introduction of wolves is having on the ecosystem. Banning the harvest of Mountain Lions, Bobcats & any other predator is counterproductive on many levels. Instead of banning the hunting of apex predators, Fish & Game should ban the sale of unlimited over the counter tags. The overpopulation of people in the woods during the fall harvest is detrimental to the quality of hunting, puts increased pressure on game & it creates unmitigated wear & tear on the land. Keep up the good work, we as Conservationists need to stick together & continue to advocate for our rights to manage the game that God has provided for us! 😎🤙🇺🇸
Thanks for the comment. I grew up in Northern WI and have seen the effects of unmanaged wolves first hand. I’m scared for Colorado over the next decade. I’m not completely anti-wolf but when you can’t control the numbers because of politics and emotion it’s detrimental to all other species that provide thousands of lbs of meat to people every year. This initiative would just be the start, if it goes through. The problem is that most people that would vote on the issue would only read the 2 sentence headline written by anti-hunters and not be educated on the overall effects that would certainly be harmful to many other species. Not to mention the hundred of thousands of dollars that parks and wildlife would lose out on (read the fiscal impact statement) that is used for conservation. I could go on and on but thank you for the comment!
Absolutely man I appreciate that. I don’t think we’re gonna hit the 500 comment mark in 48 hours but I’m gonna donate anyway. I appreciate all the comments and support from everyone so far!
