If I'm not mistaken, the lyricist of the original song said that the lyrics are meant to be from the perspective of Emilia, the Emilia that died in the very first timeline, watching over Subaru in the afterlife. So, y'know, if this song didn't already make you cry, there you go.

@@brettthebest3978 It is unconfirmed but there is heavy evidence it's time travel. Although to explain why would require spoiling arc 6 of the web novel which would presumably be season 4 of the anime.
That's quite tragic as time is reset Emilia's soul can feel her memories and feelings fading away as it all restarts.

oh my actual god. When i clicked this i hoped it would just be good enough for me to be able to try sing it in english... BUT THIS... I was not expecting to be faced with complete perfection. Everything is timed perfectly, the strange pitches with the auto tune are hit perfectly and the singer's voice is so talented and very similar to the Japanese singer. Anything less than a 10/10 would be a massive understatement. I guess now i will be listening to this on a loop over and over again instead of the original. I'm glad i only just watched Re:Zero now so i was able to witness this song. Outstanding job 👍
I’m very amazed with the English lyrics. After listening to many covers, I was never happy with the lyrics no matter how well the artist sang it. This was truly impressive and my favorite cover of this song. This song really resonates with me, so I’m glad to hear this song. Well done.
