So nice to see the shop that produced the many, many parts that I spec’d in during my career in electrohydraulic servo actuators. For 40 years now, Lee has been a superior supplier!
NYC CNC has done some of the best machine shop tours on UA-cam, you can see how selective he was to find unique facilities/companies by watching his videos, now you are on the path of beating him on that, another great tour and amazing facility.
I've specified and used many of their blanking plugs in some of the down hole completion equipment I've designed for the oilfield over the years. Exceptionally fine stuff! thanks for sharing, Ken
What a beautiful operation! Nice to know that people this meticulous are making parts for applications as critical and unforgiving as aircraft applications.
The hydrogen furnace.. These must be some mixing of hydrogen and nitrogen at the curtain.. Sooo there'll be spent hydrogen / nitrogen mix at 2,000 F.. Now that's a fun thing to deal with, is it burnt to heat the process?
Yes a small amount of hydrogen does exit the process mixed with the nitrogen. The nitrogen then passes through a flame to burn off the excess hydrogen before it’s released into the atmosphere. It’s not used to add heat to the chamber, the chamber is heated with electric coils temperature controlled electronically.
I’m sure it’s not on the cheap end, but when you’re doing components that need to be right for safety’s sake, I’m sure the tooling pays for itself in spades!
Yeah I was thinking about that too. And how that’s probably trade secrets far to sensitive to share on a UA-cam video. 🤷♂️ ? I was wondering if it was EDM or lasers, water jet ? It’s a really fascinating facility though.
For some we use a wire mesh, for some we use a photo etched material, some are mechanically drilled, but most are made with Lasers. The specifics are a trade secret. Sorry….
@@petemclinc This isn't the 90s anymore, 12 year old's don't wear ballcaps unless they are in little league. Hell I bet he was a little kid in the 90s.
@@kkknotcool If you are going to show up to any facility. Show up like you care. Not like you rolled out of bed and grabbed your girl jeans and cool kid costume.
Definitely not your typical company. Super clean with the best equipment. Thanks PM and Ian for the tour.
Thank you very much for checking it out!
Thanks for checking us out ⚙⚙⚙

They are truly incredible at what they do!
Hey Tom. Facility may be near the old Owl building. Best wishes Ed J.
Truly appreciate that ⚙⚙⚙
Go Dad! So proud of TLC and all that they do for its employees
A true legend ⚙⚙⚙
What an amazing company. Awesome tour, thanks

That guy is an absolute clown. He loves to hear his own voice.
Thank you very much for checking it out!
My goodness now THAT was a fascinating video! And what a company!
Thanks for watching, David ⚙⚙⚙
I'm really grateful for insights into these places. I'm not a machinist, but like looking how things are made and how do workshops look inside.
It’s incredible to see what these kind of facilities are capable of for sure!

We appreciate that ⚙⚙⚙
Amazing , Thank You
Surprised they didn’t make him wear a tie
Great job Jeff.

This guy is fuckin locked in. I love it

Most people don't realize the level of detail and precision that has to go into these mission critical products. Great company!
Need to be precise when our customers expect only the best ⚙⚙⚙
And I work in that "shop". Actually it is several buildings that are in this video.
good video Ian..thanks for your time
Thank you very much for checking it out!
Great co. Worked there over 32 yrs. Quality was always job 1 !!!
God bless this man he reminds me of Donald Lindsey of exotic metals lsc
Its so clean!! put most kitchens to shame
You may or may not be able to eat off the floors
Right off I see Arthur G. Russell Co. plant equipment. Top Notch choice of equipment.
They certainly put a lot of thought into what they bring in!
how does one get to tour a place like this ?
most of the people on earth don't know what it takes to makes things ....
Làm thế nào để có thể làm việc trong những nhà máy như thế này.tôi rất đam mê công việc này.

I would like to know what their tooling supplies cost.
That is none of your business now is it...

Epic. The question is how are the holes actually made?
I wouldn't expect some clown covered in arm tats wearing a ballcap backwards to
ask that question...
i was thinking the same .
By laser, I believe.....

Russian planes too??!
No sorry. Just planes in the “free” world. The Russians make their own reverse engineered version of many of our parts.
I could not watch this video I found the tattoos to annoying
Why would you care?
Better him than a woman.
Let alone wearing a ballcap backwards like some 12 year old...
