- Happy new year everyone! I’m still slightly unwell, so while my face and throat heal here is a masked ASMR roleplay of an Old God giving your spirit a spring clean. It’s an odd one, sure, but hopefully some of the effects used are relaxing, as there’s some weird personal attention and energy cleansing that, despite the spooky setting, should set you up for a good sleep. And ten points if you can correctly identify the deity! Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

Jim always delivers some of the coolest ASMR that’s off the beaten path.
It's creepy and relaxing at the same time. It's amazing. I am a Slav, in pagan times we had the Kolyada holiday, which was celebrated in winter. Then people dressed up as animals and wore similar masks. I like the stories and traditions of the Slavs, and this asmr really immersed me in the atmosphere of the holiday. Thank you for your hard work, get well

Sometimes Jim makes some really good and pretty normal ASMR, and sometimes he brings out the most unexpected horror that oddly still works as great ASMR.
The Old God reminded me of Remor from the game Fran Bow. This is fascinating. Specially the color palette, similar to that of a baroque painting. The fact that this is free makes me appreciate twice the effort and quality put into Jim's videos.

I must thank this ancient God for inspiration. Looking at its head and hands fully covered with red (Blood? Natural skin colour? Doesn't matter) made me wonder what exotic half-human beings I could possibly draw by adding peculiar features (unusual skintone, extra fingers etc.). You have my most gratitude as a creator, great work as always

This is just an idea but Id actually love to see Jim do an 'Amnesia dark descent' ASMR video where Daniel of Mayfair patches you up with laudanum after a run in with a grunt or brute or enjoying a glass of wine with Alexander of Brennensburg the only one who could execute this perfectly and embrace the eerie but comforting atmosphere of Amnesia would be Jim
one of my favorite movies as a kid was The Village. this ambience and costume choice really reminds me of that energy in the best nostalgic way. this is a masterpiece.
The way the hands move frame by frame and not fluent is so good it adds the "this is trying to be something that it's not"

You look like you belong in the Pathologic universe. An entity risen from earth and sacrificial blood. I imagine you showing up in Artemy Burakh's dreams to let him know that the time has come for him to connect with his pagan heritage.
Jim, there are no words to describe what a natural you are, what your channel means to me, how much you always help me, and how glad I am to have found you!
I've never had asmr tingles before after trying out a lot of different triggers, but this video gives me almost like warm chills down my spine.
Especially the strange hand sounds at 3:25, and the sticks rubbing at 7:15.
So thank you for helping me finally find what audio triggers work for me. :)

I think this audio also strikes my fancy because it sounds almost... dry? The hands, the breathing, the quiet ambience in the background. It's all very dry, hollow. A lot of ASMR turns me away right away because it sounds too wet and makes me uncomfortable.

Im assuming this is supposed to be the horned god or better known in most cultures as Cernunnos but i could be wrong im not super knowledgeable yet in the pagan gods and goddesses from the old world.

You say 10 points for correctly identifying the deity? Hmmm.... Is Mari Lwyd technically a deity? I don't think so. Knowing your affinity for Norse and Slavic mythology, I'm guessing Freyr, who was associated with Icelandic horse cult whose horse was called Bloody Hoof, and also guessing Svetovit, who was associated with horses and rode a white horse. You could also be one of the Celtic horse goddesses Epona or Aine (called the Red Horse Goddess, who was also a faery, but associated with Midsummer). Running out of options, you look like one of the Forgotten Gods that Neil Gaiman writes about.

Recently found that death is my god and tbh this is like a perfect representation If you would like to know why I consider death as my god continue reading I’ve considered myself an atheist for quite a while but I decided to make death my form of a god for the reason that every biomaterial on earth will end in death and death is always with you you live a life that is deserving but if death feels you aren’t living the life you should be than it will cut it short or give you a near death experience to kind of give you that sense of reality and that you need to appreciate what you have so with that said I hope you have a good rest of your day or night and I thank you for taking the time to read this

By the way, it’s worth mentioning your costume is absolutely insane, I’m always so blown away by your costumes but this looks truly powerful and ancient, so very well done, and the reversed sounds and eerie breaths make this whole experience otherworldly
When you do the reverse clap, you should have a visually longer clap so it lines up with the reverb tail. When clapping start the hands further apart it will look like it lines up with the video better. Other than that another absolute banger of a video gn!!

I feel such a flitwit towards Jim's great work here after reading all the comments displaying everyone's different knowledge of the many famous intercultural, ancient mythological, horse gods and godesses. I rushed back from the brink of absence to catch his latest without reading the description...and the very first image seeping through, made me immediately think of LASSIE the collie. I am deeply sorry for my ignorance and irreverence Jim. It turned out marvellously haunting and captivating, both through sound and imagery.
