    I have to make a trip to the tying supply to get the stuff for this pattern, I think it will do really good for trout, redfish, snook, triple tail , jacks, pompano, permit and my wallet, here in west central Florida, also love your surf candy patterns and bait fish , great job ! Tight lines bro ! 👍🏼

    JUST AN OUTSTANDING FLY,,,,, I tied this Shrimp Fly ,, exactly as instructed, due to your great video,, presentation... !! YET, here is the problem,, - after my 5th JOHNNY WALKER BLACK,,,, I tied it just as instructed,, but on a Tube Fly method.. .. IT WAS SOOO DAMM GOOD LOOKING,, that I mistakenly SAUTÉED IT,, with Lemon and Garlic,, ,, and ate the Damm thing!!! I guess I’ll have to tie another,, but I am not looking forward,, to the morning before my shower,,,... I blame you for that !!!! Thank you for your dedication and passion that you bring to thousands,, and your step by step instructions,, to keep our sport FUN.. and unique... Be safe and healthy,,,,

    Donal Liston from Ballybunion Ireland. Although a little long it was a marvellous tutorial video and I really enjoyed it . If I succeed in trying up this pattern I hope to fish it on the Cashen estuary of the Feale river south of our beautiful seaside resort of Ballybunion.
    Many thanks for these videos as you make a difficult skill look manageable and also very interesting and entertaining.

    Of course it is a sea trout fly in origin and this is what I would use it for ... BUT: The reason why I don't fish Pattegrisens in general, is because - at least with my "casting art" - the fibres of the "body hackle" always tangle. I would be surprised if the craft fur version would do better in this aspect.
    Anyway, I would give it a try in my home waters around Kiel, Germany / baltic sea.
    Other than that: I always watch your videos and really appreciate what you do to entertain and tutor us. Keep up the good work and TL!!!

    Have you ever tried extending the flash fiber in a loop beyond the hook eye, cut it open, split it equally down and to each side, then smear flexible UV resin on each “flipper”? Trim to shape and you have another part of the shrimp that behaves almost like the real thing.

    • @Coastfly
      @Coastfly  2 роки тому +1

      Ive seen that done before.. Problem is that you have to be very precise when doing that. Otherwise the hook/fly might spin when casting and stripping leaving you with a twisted Leader and knots that Will drive you insane. Im all for showflies but i try to combine show an fishing flies so i end up with something very Nice looking that fishes Well. 😊

    Would be awesome as a demo model to look at for a new fly tyer when learning to tie my own, and use them in the hunt for sea trout at the Danish coast 🇩🇰 What is your take on this vs the original with spey feathers? Any major differences besides this being way more affordable for a beginner?
    Also im surprised you did not weight it with a few wraps of lead free wire, will the fly still sink?

    • @Coastfly
      @Coastfly  3 роки тому

      the fly will sink - just not so fast.. I dont like putting extra weight on my flies. I fish with an intermediate line so that will get my fly under the surface adallow me really slow retrieves.
