      Nuhte It's a way to balance out the world. When you can agonize pirate warriors looking to stroke their ego by using aggro through turning it into the longest game of their life, the deck is a good deck.

    Isn't playing Scourgelord a misplay in this matchup? When the pirate warrior runs out of steam he's stuck playing one threat per turn so as long as you have answers it's probably better just to armour up for as many turns as possible.

      Trump would not. For him it's concede warrior. I don't understand how in the first game he didn't use his weapon to kill the drake and have resources left to deal with later turns. As thjis said it best: it is awesome playing a deck, where you just don't do anything if you don't have to.

    • @vsear5911
      @vsear5911 7 років тому +5

      There are so many variants of the deck's win condition. N'Zoth, Mill, Blood Warriors...
      Not to mention how many cards can fit into the draw/stalling part of the archetype. You can't even come close to running them all in a single deck.
      And playing it is not even close to being repetitive. It has the most ambiguous decisions of any playable deck since Patron Warrior, and your playstyle changes drastically with pretty much every deck your opponent may be playing.

    • @PurpleViking221
      @PurpleViking221 7 років тому +2

      You can't use reason to invalidate his opinion that he finds it boring

    • @MrStealthWarrior
      @MrStealthWarrior 7 років тому

      It's simple. Many players want to play spells, minions, fight for the board control etc. Vs decks like this you just play anything -> it gets removed/absorbed by armor. And your opponent barely plays anything.

    • @vsear5911
      @vsear5911 7 років тому

      This deck has a lot of spells. It even has an Arcane Giant variant. If you want to fight for board control you can swap some of the spells with a N'Zoth package. I personally have been running Marin, Rotface and Lich King. The deck comes together so beautifully that you can swap many parts to what you want to play and it still works about as well as long as the card can either effectively stall the game or have high desirability for duplication.
      Yeah, you have to actually think about what you play so that you minimize the effectiveness of the opponent's removal. Welcome to control decks.

    Easily one of the most interesting decks in Hearthstone History. It requires strategy and balls to play. I just kinda wish it wasn't so slow, maybe a future expansion could speed this deck up somewhat

      @TheCryptolyte 7 років тому

      Keith Pickett Perhaps you are right, but if there became a card called something like "Dead Man's -something-" that would help you filter out the weak circumstantial cards from your hand and make your deck stronger faster you know? It could have a description like "Choose a mana cost, shuffle a copy of all cards with that cost from your hand into your deck"

    • @TheCryptolyte
      @TheCryptolyte 7 років тому

      Keith Pickett But I don't know about balancing so I have no doubt a card like that, even Warrior exclusive could be horrendously abused

    • @snowstorm9818
      @snowstorm9818 7 років тому

      Rotface is a low tempo value card, and since this is a shuffling fatigue deck, it already basically has infinite value, which means it really doesn't need value cards like Rotface. If it can survive to the point that it can play rotface, it can survive long enough to fatigue the opponent, so it's always better to invest in more survivability to get to that point rather than late game value.

    The hearthstone conundrum: why try to hit legend with high-skill fatigue warrior when you can play scummy pirate warrior and hit legend in half the time

    Two reasons why I will never be good as Trump:
    1- I barely rope;
    2- I don't have the patience to play the whole season to get legend rank. (the closer I got was to rank 3 when handlock was a thing).

      you say "as good as" as if hearthstone takes skill... what it takes is a deck of cards viable in the meta, and more luck then your opponent... and thats not just an opinion thats a fact given that i hit 0.0000000000000000000623% chance of getting fucked... 4 times in a row, games all about luck if you think otherwise chances are your lucky and cant accept it

      It does take skill (you won't get anywhere if you throw every game), but the skill ceiling is so low that tenacity and patience are a lot more important.

    Watching that Pirate Warrior game just solidifies the reason why I always will love control decks vs. aggro decks. With control decks you have to decide, "Ok should I start hitting face or do I continue controlling the board?" With aggro decks it always feels like they are on auto pilot and will 95% of the time hit face. Oh you have a big minion? *FACE* Oh you just AOE'd the board leaving one of your minions still alive? *FACE* I chuckle to myself when I put up a big taunt minion because I imagine their eyes twitching from trying to compute another action to take besides hitting face. "DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!! WANT TO HIT FACE, BUT CAN'T!!!" "It's okay Hunter/Pirate deck, just kill the taunt minion then hit face." "Oh thank Ragnaros, I didn't know what else to do there."

      Hey man, don’t be so opinionated.
      1. Unless you were rich from the start, did you forget the days when you were F2P and were so happy just to be able to craft one complete deck (which for most people was usually an Aggro deck)? Pirate Warr used to be one of the cheapest top-tier competitive decks. Blame Blizzard for making control decks, and the game in general, so expensive.
      2. People have jobs. Aggro decks are ideal for the 5 mins we get in the toilet. You should be grateful you have the luxury of playing 15 min control matches.
      3. Not everyone is always in the mood for passive, reactive playstyles. As much as we enjoy control decks, sometimes we just feel like being proactive. Proactive, aggressive playstyles are also enjoyable to many people, didn’t you know?
      4. Don’t blame your opponents for going face. Reducing your opponents life total (aka face) is the whole point of the game in the first place. Some people like being all fancy and grand with how they achieve that, but others like to do things no-nonsense and straightforward. Different strokes for different folks.
      5. Why do you speak so condescendingly of other players? While you gloat over your control decks' dominance over aggro (well, control IS supposed to beat aggro after all), have you forgotten that combo and midrange players might be doing just the same to you? You can boast about how skilled control decks are all day but ultimately, HS is a rock-paper-scissors game. No one strategy dominates over every other, and the best strategy is to play and master all strategies available to you.
      Whatever the reason may be, at the end of the day people just play whatever they feel like. It’s a children’s card game after all... no need to get all hardcore on what your opponents choose to play.

      @gluessb 7 років тому +2

      The Annoying Orange well, there's no reason to write a fucking high school essay in the comment section of a children's card game video either...
      People hate pirate warrior and face hunter. Accept it. You don't have to try swaying other people's opinions by stating facts from real life, because guess what? No matter how much you try to explain that people don't have time to play control or simply like aggro, nobody will agree with you. Everyone who's played a pirate warrior at least a few times will ignore you and continue complaining. So don't waste your own time writing shit this long. "You should be grateful you have the luxury" of wasting this much time skewing other people's opinions.
