yes, for the mmo would be out of nowhere and a bit odd, but for the world itself, new races are fine. The newest lead writer (i think) has done a fantastic job creating entire whole new ideas that actually created much more to the world for it being the first mentions (camavore being viego's kingdom, on a brand new continent; nilah being from there too). so it could be done, just all the more exciting to see what else there can be
LS just took what Nercit said and did not understand what he meant, When LS said "Shoot himself in the foot" he did not understand Necrits POV where making the Vastaya a singular race (including all tribes into maybe say character customization) would be a bad move on Riots part. This is because having multiple different tribes as seperate races allows for more content drops (via just dropping more races on the Vastaya tribe tree) and or easier balancing as they could just fixate one race to fix rather than taking apart a whole race with 5 different components within it.
The void-born and Darkin don't take followers, they either kill or consume them, Malzahar only trick people to be his followers to serve him to serve the void so at best is to be like him, a void summoners
You're right about the void-born but the Darkin? Nah check the lore, after the fall of the Shuriman empire the Darkin started a civil war, enslaving the shuriman colonies. Vladamir was a Darkin's slave who learned magic from him, the Darkin were tyrants with slaves, followers, lesser warriors etc. In the cinematic "The Call" you can see a massive statue of a woman get torn down by Taliyah, that's a statue of one of these Darkin tyrants and they certainly didn't erect it for themselves.

I dont think races such as trolls, ghosts (shadow isles) or darkins will be playable at all. Imo only races that are normal and expected to be seen in any "generic" city are gonna be playable. Darkins and shadow isles characters will probably be only seen as enemies.
I mean you can play Undeads and Orcs in WoW and they were really evil until they broke free. So a good Shadow Isles chars ala Maokai who are corrupted but not evil are 100% possible. Darkins are most likely not playable tho.

I think all the playable characters will be pretty generic high intelligent humanoid species (which orcs from wow would qualify as? and trolls from runeterra wouldnt). 2. There is no widespread undead intelligent races/species in runeterra as far as I know. 3. They are probably not gonna make one off unique concepts playable that are akin to someone like maoka playable.
@@tume7473 I dont think you will able to play a tree but rather just human who has been corrupted by the Shadows ala Viego but rather then giving into the shadows you will be free like Senna who is an undead intelligent human. And with the lore being kinda lose around the Shadow Isle it is really possible that there could be an outpost inside the Shadow Isle where the people who broken free can meet or where they are brought so that the "leader" of that group can heal them. Lore is something that can be changed as we saw again and again in WoW and with League lore being really vague you can do a lot of stuff.
also no way shadow isles will be playable anywhere near the start. that will be one of the late game expansions so making races and classes for them right now is out of the question. remember the base game is 6-8 years away. why start on something that is more like 10-15 years away?
i really hope sand trolls become a playable race with the shurima expansion, if Jax is proven to be a sand troll then they would make for a perfect playable race and maybe we can finally see what jax will look like under the mask
There cant be mini darkins because to become a darkin u have to be an ascended (Nasus, Renekton, Azir, Xerath...) and be corrupted by the void. They are gods like Necrit said and gods cant be mediocre. And if there were mini darkins then they would have ended the world in my opinion.
Funnily enough, the "Baccais" which are failed ascended warriors exists, and they indeed transformed and got some powers but it's more of a curse than an ascension. So in a way they are a nerfed version of an ascended.

I very much doubt the fact that they would add more races to the already developed system of races and politics riot has already created, they have many version if you will of the same race. A good example of the "versions" of a race would be vastaya, they have not only a half human half animal aesthetic but they also have different animals (Ahri being a fox and Wukong being a monkey). The developed system of politics would be messed up as demacia would need another chunk of history to explain what they think about the new race and so on and so forth. Riot would not have a reason that is good enough to make a new established race as some other things that Necrit talks about would fill the gaps in for every race and every region. In short, they don't have a reason to add a race as there are more variety in races that we already know about as well as things that we don't know about some races (I.E. Sand Trolls) as well as the fact that the amount of time required to fix a race into a world would make it not only awkward but also confusing (lore wise).

Thing is with the Shadow Isles is, only the undead live there and questing as an undead anywhere outside bilgewater/shadow isles will feel really weird. Unless there is an ruination event where u get an Illidan Demonhunter situation where certain undead work with the living. So undead as a race just doesn't work in Runeterra. Voidborn are a different as people like Kai'sa already exist, so having them added with the Shurima expansion would be cool.
Thresh transformed into his human form and even had a conversation with multiple people without them noticing and in ruined king there was the mistwalker that was named after necrit that is basically undead and could go any time if i remember right.
The thing is we kind off have people that are below Darkin, but if anything that would be a CLASS as we could have cultists that use blood magic that they learnt from darkin

Hello to everyone who is interested in the League of Legends story. So you have two options, firstly, watch channels and their videos such as: Necrit, T B Skyen, TENEBRIX, NickyBoi, and we have from our UA-camrs like Necrit and Player's Division, Stories of Runeterry, Baron Rico. Or read a story with comics in one place, plus there are three books for that. Garen: First Shield, League of Legends: Realms of Runeterra (Official Companion), Ruination: A League of Legends Novel. Well, both are best. I myself began to love the story of league of legends for these reasons. Erm. Yes, league of legends is about gameplay and a poisonous community, but that's because they really don't know how to play a dump game. And Lore in League of Legends is way better than Warcraft. You can also write it as Cinematic. League of Legends has 12 comics and three books. And they have been working on their series for 7 years,... = Arcane. From 2014 to the actual date. Warcraft movie pure real garbage. Arcane Season 1, next one coming soon. And also League of legends Skin lines are alternate and parallel uvinverse. With stories this good, sometimes it's a much better champion story than in LOL. ;) May the force be with you. And may you lead the force. 🖐️
I love LS but I really hate his catch-all solution here of "oh well they could just change everything they've already done to do that". While, sure, they *could*, I think Necrit is assuming they'll be, I don't know, consistent and stick to their values and established stories and rules.
Void and shadow isles would make zero sense, it's like asking to play as a minion of ragnaros. The factions have no established civilisation or protagonistic storyline. They will definitely be raid locations.
Rito should just copy the maple story class system. Where you can start off with like the basic class and branch off into your basic five classes that all have other branching classes untill you get to fourth/fifth job. And then if they had a class that doesn’t fit that mold you make it a stand alone class that still has options of how to make it feel like your own class. So like a mix of maple plus lost ark
No offense to LS, but unfortunately, he didn't get any of Necrit's points regarding how the already established lore could make the MMO have fantastic variety. Of course, Riot could make new races/factions, but that's all hypothetical if you see how much depth has already been established. Also, I do not recommend trying to argue against the literal Lore Master when you don't have a deep in-depth knowledge of the world.
The Problem with the Shadow Isle as a Starting Place is like. You are starting in Hell the Shadow Isle are full of Undead spirits and horrors. And in the Lore of LOL the shadow isle spirits are nit able to move ore explore that is the rule be imprisoned in the shadow isle until tge Harrowing comes. The Harrowing happens once a Year so when the Harrowing appears the undead can move freely to the shadow isle and kill everything that they cross taking the souls and pure chaos. So yeah No the Shadow Isle would not be a good starting place if you want to explore and be active in game.

The point was to point out LS has no idea how many darken there are, nor does he understand the lore behind them. These things (darken) are so powerful they can take on Armies, it’s not something that is or can be a playable class. And lore and lord is a 1 letter difference, get off your high horse 🐴 ****it.

Necrit has been doing full time content creation on exclusively LoL lore for like six years now. I suspect at this point he's more knowledgeable about league lore than nearly every Rioter. The thing I’m thinking about is what type of graphics will they choose? We have unreal engine 5 on our doorsteps or possibly a more comical engine. Since their other games are also very comic‘ish graphics. Races and classes are 0 problems for me because I’ll play an ionian blademaster/shadow ninja anyway. The skill system will be important though. They could go with a black desert type of system where you have 2 types you can switch off of. Turn this idea into 4-5 types you can switch to and the big variety problem is solved. The topic I’m also wondering is mounts. Will it be a teleportation mixed with minor mounts like horses and so on, or will it be a huge variety in mounts while Runeterra would justify this because their monster variety is already HUGE. I disagree with expansions heavily because that’s just a cash-grab. I’d rather love to see greyed out areas that open up over time, without having to pay for more and more expansions which is SUPER outdated.

The problem of voidborn was, they were still around Shurima and Icathia. And they were either eyes and ears of the Watchers, or mindless killing machine that only thing they do was consume. But since Bel'Veth, we know that not necessarily all voidborns are on the Watchers' side. That means they aren't dull, emotionless monsters anymore. Which makes me believe that if Riot wants to, they could push the story of Vel'koz and Bel'Veth and have them create armies of voidborns that can mesh well in the universe. On the other hand, since who was touched by the void would mutate, like Malzahar. So it's well expected that there will be a class or classes of void affected people, which summons void creatures or shoot purple beams, or wears void armors like Kai'Sa. And the Darkin army is also possible as a class too. There are followers of Vlad, Kayn exists, and a new darkin champion is coming as well. Who knows.
Darkin/mini-darkin playeable? No, the most we could have are hemomancers, like Necrit said Vlad was once a hostage from a Darkin and learned their blood magic. Void playeable? no and yes, what i mean not being able to play as a Voidborn since they only exist to consume, learn and evolve meaning they only exist to destroy everything in their endless way of learning, now what i mean with yes is simple we have Kai'Sa in league a human using a voidborn attach to her body which uses to fight the void or Kassadin someone who spend time in the void, Malzahar but he's more into the void being brainwash and fighting for intead against the void also if I'm not wrong in LoR there are cards of humans with void weapons fighting the void.
Maybe I don't know enough about lore, but according to fiddles voice lines aren't there only ten demons? If so, I don't think demons should be a playable race
The Darkin aren't demons and that's what LS meant when he said "demonic" The Darkin look like traditionally christian depictions of Demon's but they aren't Demons. Secondly there are 10 Primordial Demon's, these are demons than embody broad concepts such as "Fear", "Agony", "Joy". After that there are dozens of lesser demons who embody more specific concepts, if Fiddlesticks embodies "Fear" someone like Nocturne embodies "Nightmares". Yone's demon embodies "Lingering regrets of ones past life" for example. Yasuo's demon (in kin of a stained blade) represented his choice to run. These hyper specific demon's are known as "Azakana" or "Lesser Demon".

"All the variations of warrior will have to be the exact same thing with different particle effects" Why? Because it would take a lot of effort to not do that? Okay, MMO's take a lot of effort in general, just talk about what CAN happen, not what you think might be too difficult for the Rioters. Maybe say "this would be hard to do" but don't impose limitations, especially ones the Rioters probably wouldn't be happy with. people are forgetting that a lot about league is that these nations are in constant conflict. void, shadow isles, demons etc should be in the base game since the game should be a pvp centered game with giant wars between each nation. Im more interested in how they will handle a pvp aspect of giant nations versus each other.

Thing is with the Shadow Isles is, only the undead live there and questing as an undead anywhere outside bilgewater/shadow isles will feel really weird. Unless there is an ruination event where u get an Illidan Demonhunter situation where certain undead work with the living. So undead as a race just doesn't work in Runeterra. Voidborn are a different as people like Kai'sa already exist, so having them added with the Shurima expansion would be cool.
Thresh transformed into his human form and even had a conversation with multiple people without them noticing and in ruined king there was the mistwalker that was named after necrit that is basically undead and could go any time if i remember right.
The thing is we kind off have people that are below Darkin, but if anything that would be a CLASS as we could have cultists that use blood magic that they learnt from darkin
Something like darkin would probably be a death knight type deal where you have to prestige your character for it

Void and shadow isles would make zero sense, it's like asking to play as a minion of ragnaros. The factions have no established civilisation or protagonistic storyline. They will definitely be raid locations.
Rito should just copy the maple story class system. Where you can start off with like the basic class and branch off into your basic five classes that all have other branching classes untill you get to fourth/fifth job. And then if they had a class that doesn’t fit that mold you make it a stand alone class that still has options of how to make it feel like your own class. So like a mix of maple plus lost ark

No offense to LS, but unfortunately, he didn't get any of Necrit's points regarding how the already established lore could make the MMO have fantastic variety. Of course, Riot could make new races/factions, but that's all hypothetical if you see how much depth has already been established.
Also, I do not recommend trying to argue against the literal Lore Master when you don't have a deep in-depth knowledge of the world.
The Problem with the Shadow Isle as a Starting Place is like. You are starting in Hell the Shadow Isle are full of Undead spirits and horrors. And in the Lore of LOL the shadow isle spirits are nit able to move ore explore that is the rule be imprisoned in the shadow isle until tge Harrowing comes. The Harrowing happens once a Year so when the Harrowing appears the undead can move freely to the shadow isle and kill everything that they cross taking the souls and pure chaos. So yeah No the Shadow Isle would not be a good starting place if you want to explore and be active in game.

The thing I’m thinking about is what type of graphics will they choose? We have unreal engine 5 on our doorsteps or possibly a more comical engine. Since their other games are also very comic‘ish graphics.
Races and classes are 0 problems for me because I’ll play an ionian blademaster/shadow ninja anyway.
The skill system will be important though. They could go with a black desert type of system where you have 2 types you can switch off of. Turn this idea into 4-5 types you can switch to and the big variety problem is solved.
The topic I’m also wondering is mounts. Will it be a teleportation mixed with minor mounts like horses and so on, or will it be a huge variety in mounts while Runeterra would justify this because their monster variety is already HUGE.
I disagree with expansions heavily because that’s just a cash-grab. I’d rather love to see greyed out areas that open up over time, without having to pay for more and more expansions which is SUPER outdated.
Disagree on expansion is just a cash grap. You think riot has enough time to make the entire map in 6 year? You want this game in what, 10 year later? And when did expansion = cash grap? It a freaking map and content update for fuck sake. With no expansion riot is shooting themselve on the foot in making up future update. Also you are simplying the system a lot. If you think just by making more type of system would fix all problem why is there no one doing it? There a lot of intricate detail of game making than "riot just do this idea that I think of in less than 2 minute. Certainly it would fix mmo problem".

The problem of voidborn was, they were still around Shurima and Icathia. And they were either eyes and ears of the Watchers, or mindless killing machine that only thing they do was consume.
But since Bel'Veth, we know that not necessarily all voidborns are on the Watchers' side. That means they aren't dull, emotionless monsters anymore. Which makes me believe that if Riot wants to, they could push the story of Vel'koz and Bel'Veth and have them create armies of voidborns that can mesh well in the universe.
On the other hand, since who was touched by the void would mutate, like Malzahar. So it's well expected that there will be a class or classes of void affected people, which summons void creatures or shoot purple beams, or wears void armors like Kai'Sa.
And the Darkin army is also possible as a class too. There are followers of Vlad, Kayn exists, and a new darkin champion is coming as well. Who knows.

Void playeable? no and yes, what i mean not being able to play as a Voidborn since they only exist to consume, learn and evolve meaning they only exist to destroy everything in their endless way of learning, now what i mean with yes is simple we have Kai'Sa in league a human using a voidborn attach to her body which uses to fight the void or Kassadin someone who spend time in the void, Malzahar but he's more into the void being brainwash and fighting for intead against the void also if I'm not wrong in LoR there are cards of humans with void weapons fighting the void.

The Darkin aren't demons and that's what LS meant when he said "demonic" The Darkin look like traditionally christian depictions of Demon's but they aren't Demons.
Secondly there are 10 Primordial Demon's, these are demons than embody broad concepts such as "Fear", "Agony", "Joy". After that there are dozens of lesser demons who embody more specific concepts, if Fiddlesticks embodies "Fear" someone like Nocturne embodies "Nightmares". Yone's demon embodies "Lingering regrets of ones past life" for example. Yasuo's demon (in kin of a stained blade) represented his choice to run. These hyper specific demon's are known as "Azakana" or "Lesser Demon".
