i think with the car, Chanse's body is moving in one direction, but the MOMENT he applies enough pressure onto the hood of the car to get that second step over it, his foot is suddenly going to move backwards MUCH faster than he will be able to deal with. His legs will get yanked backwards, meanwhile his upper body is still carrying that forward velocity, so he's going to rotate and slam down face first through the windshield
I love that he even mentions Newton's every action has an equal and opposite reaction thing, like yes, your foot makes contact with that car it will IMMEDIATELY be sent in the direction the car is moving because of that
Yup. Ian was spot on with his take. People can jump over a car, if it's fast enough, but you can't make contact. People have done a backflip or something over a F1 car, so it's absolutely doable.

I really do love how they were concerned we'd be all over the marriage, and instead we just use it as a vehicle to make yolks about the other cast members, or call Courtney's Husband, "Courtney's Husband"
Chanse’s car fest is truly so funny to me because at this point it’s DEFINITELY been mathematically proven impossible the way he describes it but I love the idea that- somehow- Chanse has the unique superpower to as soon as he makes contact with a moving vehicle, he instantly gains its force in the opposite direction and, if he pushes off with his foot in the 2 milliseconds in which his foot could be on the hood without being in the windshield, he *also* gains/ converts enough force to go up/ perpendicular to the road.
Wait, you mean you can't make your leg push with over 3,500lbs of force at over 60 feet per second? Just hit the gym more often, beta

Not only this, but also just that he could properly land from what is at that point probably going to be a full body spin over six feet off the ground without smashing his own head into jelly
"do you know how physics works?" this isn't about physics, ian, this is about CHANSE
to put some math to it, a car going 40 mph is going about 59 feet per second. Even if his foot touched the car for a QUARTER of a second, that car moved 15 feet in that time. His best bet is fully jumping over the car, running on it is insane.

I think.... Maybe.... If it were moving at 10 or 15 mph, maybe.... He could perform the feat he is talking about.... M A Y B E.... And even come out of it with minimal damage. It won't look like what he is probably thinking of/describing tho lol.
In that sense, if they get his ass to sign a waiver mind you... They could MAYBE™®©, CONSIDER doing a video about this, at least talking about the logistics of it, and MAYBE trying it with a less.... World shattering, sized car. Ideally not moving first so we can see if he can at least perform the feat he is describing, cuz it's definitely going to look differently to what he has in his mind about it (ngl, at first, I thought it was feasible.... These myriad discussions about the practicality of performing the feat, has long since talked me out of it tho lol. I do think there's feasibility in a lower impact version of this thought experiment, maybe even without him getting hurt substantially.... Believe it or not. Lol.)
We can't literally kill chance proving him wrong, yall lol. But.... I mean, there's a possible middle ground where he learns how feasible it really is in the process. Low impact vehicle. Don't quote my ass either way tho lol.
I wanna double emphasize, yes im aware even the most delicate version of this idea, will likely end up in a sprain or similar injury at least.... When people are doing these stunts for movies and stuff, they don't convey the actual aftereffects of physical damage simply suriving a car jump actually does to the body.
Likelyhood is high he would get hurt, but also I'd think that is what's coming to mind when he describes the feat to begin with. Literally surviving the encounter is in itself a feat... If he isn't taking any level of injury into consideration, then idk what to tell him lol.

I feel like you'd have a way better chance at fighting a horse than jumping over a car at 40mph, cause at least you might be able to dodge the horse's kicks, though one good kick from a back leg and you've got several shattered ribs or a fractured skull, so it would look like a Dark Souls boss fight.
I'm Autistic/ADHD enough to research this (yes I'm diagnosed with both, not making a joke), but couldn't find any answers to compare a horse's skull to a human's for break-ability. But I did find out it only takes 20lbs of force to close a human trachea (aka throat jab) and like 150lbs to break it (crush your windpipe), and pro boxers can exert nearly 800lbs in a punch (though it's like 200lbs for an average person), so if you're trained enough, you might be able to crush a horse's windpipe with a punch? Or at least stagger it long enough to try to sweep it's back legs and then stomp the head? I'd say jump on the back and rabbit punch it in the back of the head repeatedly (rabbit punches have a high risk of dealing permanent brain stem damage to humans), but unless you're a regular at the rodeo, that thing's bucking you off in a heartbeat.

If you aren't on the horse? You're done. But if you're on the horse, maybe? Though I doubt KSI of all people thought that far about it

Horses' feet are shaped so that they're essentially walking on tip-toes, so they can't dig their heel into the ground, so if you could dodge the front legs when it rears up (an instinct for getting it's neck out of reach of predators) then you could probably football tackle it while to sweep out a back leg and topple it. There's a reason broken legs are so devastating for horses, because they essentially can't really limp in a way that keeps weight off it, and they're slow to stand up. So I do feel like if you could manage to knock it over, you would be able to get several good head/throat stomps in.

So about jumping over a car: in the german TV-show "Wetten, dass..." (roughly translates to "I bet I could..." a guy once bet he could jump over 5 cars in a row with the help of jumping stilts. He failed and is now paraplegic because of it. He is also an actor so maybe this is a theater kid thing

I work at a car dealership, there is no reality where jumping and stomping on the hood of a car doesn’t put a massive dent in it, meaning your foot will not allow you to bounce off. The worst part, that car is gonna take you with it

Chanse could run over the car, as long as it was going his max sprint speed or slower.
Usain Bolt, at his fastest recorded speed, could go 27 miles per hour. Assuming USAIN BOLT could jump onto the hood of a car, the car could be going no more 27 miles per hour for him to achieve the car jump.
I very much doubt Chanse can run faster than Usain Bolt.

As someone who’s gotten hit by a car going only 10-15 miles an hour & tried to jump over it dropped me flat on my butt. It hurt SO BAD and you don’t expect how much power it really has

I think Chanse's best bet is to do a flip by using the traction with the hood and again using the physics to his advantage. Its definitely possible but you gotta figure out the technique
after chanse jumps onto the car and falls flat face-first, he'd slide off the car and fall a few feet to the asphalt, probably on his head, which is very deadly. if he applies enough upward force to clear the roof of the car (unlikely, but let's assume he pulls it off), it just means he has a longer fall, which at this point he probably can't control, because he's still spinning from the 60 mph treadmill-equivalent he just stepped on.
i guess, instead of landing on his head, he could land on his back, which is probably less deadly but still not great.
if he was still conscious before hitting the ground and could still control his body, he could, theoretically, roll to spread out the impact, but he's probably got the wind knocked out of him at this point, and/or is unconscious.

the car jumping idea is ridiculous. there was a trained athlete on german tv, using bounce stilts and yet he still broke his back. he's been in a wheelchair ever since.
Okay also though I petitioned for a professional stuntman to come and teach him how to do things and they hook him to a harness and have a car come at him to jump over it LOL
