- The Grande Fratello is a larger iteration of Doug Marcaida's DART design that has been very popular. The concept was to have a large cleaver that could be used for outdoor tasks like cooking, but could also be multifunctional as a blade for self-defense applications.

That 420HC steel choice ain't so great but its good enough i suppose. Itd be better if it were a bit tougher steel imo but that's me.
Get some 5160 san-mai'ed with twisted damascus
If the steel was better, it would be good. $120.00 for a knife with 420 steel is kind of a lot.

Blade Material: 420 Stainless Steel
@@jammbbs1688 It's good enough for Buck knives. When 420HC is heat treated properly it will hold an edge well and be able to resharpen easily. And on self defense knives, the type of steel doesn't matter much anyway.
@@BigDaddySwingingMeat I don't own buck knives for the reason 400 series steel is dog crap and not worth the money unless it's under 20$ I'm not paying for shit steel
@@jammbbs1688 You clearly know nothing about heat treatment. Buck has a legendary heat treat. Far better than their competitors. Their 420HC edge retention is phenomenal and several testing videos have proven that.
@@BigDaddySwingingMeat you can keep your old garbage steels I'm not wasting money on it nore will I lose sleep over me not liking it all metals have proper heat treats and almost any modern metal will beat your 420 anyday
