I know everyone in this channel have BEEN WAITING. If I'm not mistaken the voice actor for Tsukki was never allowed do cheer with other voice actors in the scenes, that was the first time he celebrated together, so that amps up the emotions.
@@LixienXIIIthat's character development. The reason why Tsukki never joined their cheers because his mindset was "it's just a club, why are they so hyped up?" Until this moment when he got his "moment". I've rewatched Haikyuu a lot of times and everytime I see the episodes after this, he was *slowly* joining them. After this episode, Tsukki is just locked in with volleyball, just like when we're locked in with our present life and got over the past. I didn't think that's out of character for him, at least for me..
@lostsoultof agreed. If tsuki didnt show any emotion after the block, he would just be a literal robot. Its not out of character for a human being to show emotion even if its new to them or others.
Tsukki's scream is one of my fave voice lines in the series! I believe that Tsukki's VA was holding up with the cheering even the "yeah's" in each huddle and was instructed to let it all out in this particular scene! And i love it.
We finally arrived at this iconic scene!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Fyi, Haikyuu VAs voted Tsukki's scene as their No.1 favourite out of all nominations from S1 to S3. Fun fact: When Karasuno did the team circle shout, only Tsukki's VA was told not to shout in the recording booth bc Tsukki did not join the team shout (Saltyshima), so he was frustrated and holding up the emotion until Ep4 S3 came. You can hear from his voice how much he held up until then 🤭. The 'camera' movement and angle did justice to the scene too, it touched our hearts.
I ended up doing both and scared the shit out of my dad😂. Then he asked, "Let me guess....Anime moment?" Me, between my sobs: "YES!! HE! HE LOVES VOLLEYBALL NOW DAD😭😭💙!" Dad didn't quite get it until I showed him the episode, but he got why I bawled😅😂
to my knowledge, Tsukki is the first person to shut down Ushikawa his entire 3rd year, and this is the final tournament before nationals. Which explains why Ushikawa is so shaken, and the audience is so shocked and immediately asked who the blocker was.
The Halo Around the Moon, is such a GOATEED title!! Hinata is totally the Sun, bursting with energy and lighting up the court with his boundless enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Tsuki is the Moon, cool, distant, and always analyzing everything around him. This episodes title representing a solar eclipse fits perfectly! When Tsuki blocks Ushijima-it’s like this incredible moment where the Moon (Tsuki) steps up and steals the entire spotlight from the Sun (Hinata). In that instant, Tsuki overshadows even Hinata’s brilliance, just like how an eclipse takes over the sky and demands everyone's attention. That block is S tier imo!!!
Tendou's first name is "Satori." He shares the name with a Japanese Youkai. Satori the youkai can read minds. So they decided to make Tendou really good at guessing (reading minds) and act like an otherworldly letch. It's all part of the youkai characterization.
Satori does not come from a yokai, but the word Satori itself means to realize, discern, perceive. Because of this positive meaning, Satori or Satoru(悟) is often used as a typical Japanese name. Rather, the yokai was created later based on the word "Satori." Words came first. Words(satori) existed before yokai.
@@novrinkov0053 yes, but the character of mind reading and bring creepy is definitely based on the folk tales. My point wasn't amor entomology but about the characterisation.
42:15 omg that reaction to Ushijima's "Gather them to me" 🤣 I very much feel the same way - it's like every time we start feeling hopeful again, here comes this guy
Even in Haikyu community it's, not talked about enough. All Tsukki growth started from Yamaguchi. Giving him the talk. When he finally put into words. ''I'm planning on stopping a few of his blocks" was to him. From season 1, most of the time people referred to him as Tsukki's sidekick. No man he's Tsukki's halo. One that's always been there and believed in him most.
And then people wonder why we ship them so hard, they are literally Yin and Yang, foils for each other. The socially awkward extrovert and the socially awkward Introvert😂❤. I love them so much waaa
So many people focus a lot more on Kuroo and Bokuto's influence on him, and while those two definitely were very important to get him to this point, Yamaguchi was ESSENTIAL. If he didn't stand up to him, Tsukishima wouldn't have reached out to the senpai. If Yamaguchi wasn't there as his friend from the start, he might not even have gone to the volleyball club in the first place. If Yamaguchi didn't try so hard every time he was on the court, Tsukishima wouldn't have felt as inspired to do his all too. You cannot separate one of them from the other, they're too tied together and Yamaguchi deserves that recognition.
Everyone's talked about what an amazing moment Tsuki had, and rightfully so, but I wanted to talk a bit about our lovely Guess Monster. He's almost a contrast to Ushijima in how one's so serious while the other's so whimsical, but what really ties them together in my eyes is how they're both unapologetically themselves. Satori is so weird and goofy but he's just having the time of his life and I will always love him for that (especially that little song he does lmao)
you really know something amazing has happened when the quietest person becomes the loudest. its one of those things that sticks out of the whole match. plus seeing that quiet person become the loudest also pumps up the rest of the team. team motivation goes to a million.
This is THE episode, there's so much to say but at the same time, it is so perfect by itself, you don't need to say anything else. One of the most satisfying moments in the whole animanga industry, episodes and episodes of slow and subtle development, all for this single point, just one point out of 25. That's the moment Lachy got hooked into TsukiGOAT!
This was the moment the fandom realized Tsukki just needed some help cause he's autistic/jk😂(this is my HC for him, bc he is 100% like me when I was a teenager lol)
THIS scene is basically the embodiment of everything that makes Haikyu so great. I love how this show always reminds me of when i was coaching my old youth team and seeing the kids accomplish something they worked hard for, which is the best feeling as a coach, better than winning. And watching Haikyu feels exactly the same. The hype when watching this for the first time was like nothing before. I still have the biggest smile on my face no matter how often i see it. ❤
I know it's cliche but this is THE MOMENT for me I loved this show since the beginning but hearing Tsuki yell and remember when Bokuto told him that he'd be hooked when he was great always makes me tear up Above Yamaguchi moment is this moment for me and I will never get tired of people's reactions to it I've never seen season 4 Idk what's there but this is the peak of Haikyuu to me
Tsukki's journey is one we all love to see, the build up leading to this moment is HUGE, and you are so tense and then he stopped Ushijima, and we see the end of the conversation with Yamaguchi, its not something that just happened during the match, Tsukkishima had been _planning_ to stop Ushijima's spike since way before the match even started, and seeing him cheer gives you literal chills, awesome moment ❤
3:14 this is a wordplay in Japanese, Guess is pronounced "gessu" which sounds like the word used for "sleazebag" that's why Yachi was concerned for Hinata This was the moment Tsukki fell in love with Volleyball and this is the moment we fell in love with Tsukki
And this ep is when Tsukki planted his feet on top of my favorite character list. That whole scene where he finally blocks Ushijima is AMAZING!!! We have been building up to this ever since we got his backstory in the training camp and he got the confidence job with Bokuto, and that SCREAM of triumph always gets me pumped up. All the homies love Tsukki
37:57 Daichi probably knew Semi (Shiratorizawa's #3) used to be a setter because he was well known in junior high! In the manga, we get information that he was a well known setter at around the same time Oikawa was, and they're said to be on par in skill, Oikawa being a little bit better but both talented and well known in the prefecture. You get a little bit more from him later on in the anime, but they cut out some of the moments we get from him and Shirabu (their main setter right now, #10).
I was waiting for you to react to S3E4 since the moment you saw Tsukki for the first time. In my opinion, Tsukki's growth and character development is one of the best in Haikyuu. It is so satisfying to watch him scream in victory for the first time in the whole series. I bet Bokuto, Kuroo and Akaashi were so proud of him.
Tendo is so likeable even in his weirdness, he’s just a fun character to watch 😂😆 Your reactions are always really thoughtful I appreciate it a lot! And imo S3E4 is definitely one of THE episodes for a lot of people - the slow burn with Tsukki has such good payoff!
Bokuto’s words plus Tsukki’s scream always gives me goosebumps, no matter how many times I watch this show ❤ My favourite ‘culmination of character development’ moment in any piece of fiction!
at the 23:17 the guy who is older than the setter reminded him to keep tossing to Ushijima and the way that setter answered him was like i know my job you don't need to remind me and that is why he got upset
I literally cry EVERY SINGLE TIME that I hear Tsukki yell after the kill-block. Ever since I first watched season 3, I rewatch that moment all the time. How can I not!? The game has our stress and anxiety levels through the roof, to then end the set in such a high emotional state!? My heart and tear ducts can't take it! 😂
You asked "I wonder how many times [Ushijima] has been kill-blocked like that." The answer is ZERO (at least when playing at the high school level). Tsukki is the first and only person in the entire prefecture to kill-block Ushijima, which makes this moment that much more hype. Edit: I should amend my comment by saying that this is technically just an assumption by the fandom (thank you for the replies) -- I don't believe it is ever specifically mentioned whether he has or has not been kill blocked before. I imagine that this assumption stems at least in part from Tsukki's statement afterwards where he says (paraphrased) "There have probably been blockers at my level going against Ushijima before, but Nishinoya's receives, etc. added enough stress to their setter that he finally made a mistake big enough to take advantage of and make a kill block possible." IMO this seems to imply that other blockers, even if they were as skilled as Tsukki, have never been able to pull off a kill block because their teammates were not able to pressure the setter to the extent that Karasuno does in this match. Of course, that's a pretty big assumption, but I think it's cooler that way, lol
How do you know this? Is it one of the things that didnt make it into the anime but was in the manga? Not tryna be rude or anything. Genuinely curious @@blackpanther10105
It's impossible for spikers to never get kill blocked. In his 3 years of volleyball I imagine he has. Especially 1st year. I'm willing to bet Aone has stopped a couple of his spikes before as well tbh. But like, you expect that from Aone. I'd also say Matsukawa or maybe a previous 3rd year from Seijo probably blocked him too. He wasn't expecting a full kill block from tsukishima as his blocking up to that point hadn't been so advanced (leave a path open and shut it down). So he was surprised at that for sure.
@@spartan1347981 I don't think it's impossible since it's Ushijima, he's not like the average high school spiker. I mean he's literally top 3 so it would make sense. Maybe he just knows when to rebound instead of spiking it into the block, his power isn't his only asset, he's likely pretty smart too
I love seeing reactors get to this point because the moment I see them start off disliking Tsukki, I know how much impact this moment will have on them :'). The long game on Tsukki's character arc pays off SO HARD!
YES!!!!!..Tsuki the big brains is here!!!!! he is finally fiiiiiiinally here!!! The VA really gave eeeeverything to this moment!!Perrrfection! and Yamaguchi...he believed in him, waited...the camera going back and forth, showing them both...absolutely perfect. Btw...Suga is watching everyone really closely, checking up on them, observing their status..he is doing the work, he picked up Yamaguchi's discomfort and corrected himself afterwards, precioussssss
I think I’ve rewatched season 3 like 4 times in the past 2 weeks and I have goosebumps every single time. I think I’ve sobbed about 10 times too. Season 3 is tsukki’s season and you can’t convince me otherwise
I was sweating like you through this whole season and I would hear the "Shiii- ra- torizawa!" chant in my head for daaaays hahahah. Grateful you did 2 eps for Tsukki!!
Tsukki's block is one of, if not the greatest moment in Haikyuu. Seeing his overall growth is such a heartwarming moment for me and his journey is one of the coolest most realistic ones I have ever seen on media. Such an awesome player! Also, can we take a moment to appreciate Lachy's mexican t-shirt? Hahahahaha it's great! As a mexican I envy you a lot and wish I had one like that.
23:17 btw here in the manga he said keep in mind how often u send the ball to wakatoshi I think he's tryna say don't just pass the ball to him and he basically got mad coz shirabu the setter didn't pay much importance to his words
Hell yea we made it. Way back in the like ep 2 or 3 video I distinctly remember you saying something along the lines of "everyone has those moments that keep you coming back to volleyball" and so I thought and commented that its gonna be great seeing you get to some of the later things. It was in reference to storyline, it's so great and one of my favorite parts of this series. LETS GO TSUKKI HE'S HOOKED NOW BABY, BOKUTO WAS COOKING.
People often say that Tendo is weird, scary, annoying etc. but i can see sweet boy who is just funny and different than others and play with his own methods. I dont know but he instantly became my favourite haikyuu character when i was watching it for the first time. I wish more people understood his character For those who watched movie, When he showed up in that one moment i remember i screamed in movie theatre
Ever since you've shared in an episode in Season 1 the nitty-gritty details in your blocking style, I've been holding myself to say this until this Season 3 episode, so I'll say it now especially it's not talked about that much here in the comments (or maybe nobody else remembers, though it's good that you re-narrated it in your reaction): 💯 Lachy, you are the very embodiment of Satori Tendo's offensively instinctual "guess blocking" (i.e., what I call commit blocking on steroids); you explaining how Tendo managed to block Hinata before Haikyuu!! even explained it just solidifies how you are the irl Guess Monster! 💯 Great reaction btw for witnessing Tsukki's glory in the power of his defensively systematic read blocking!
Thanks so much for your kind words! And I'll take that roll on hahah, idk if I do it as extremely as him but it's pretty close. You did so well to remember!
okay, because everyone else will be commenting about tsukki, i feel the need to say now that tendou's theme song, GUESS • MONSTER, is an absolute banger and fits my boy perfectly
Its the card game guy again. I loved when you said "its cool to try hard". I LOVE seeing a friend finally do well in a tournament. Illl see them week after week trying to get better and coming up short. Theyll be good sports but you can tell they really want to feel what winnings like. When it finally happens for them, it feels soo good being proud of them.
Exactly! Some times being that watcher or coach of someone and finally seeing them succeed after so much hard work is a better feeling then winning yourself!
I would absolutely recommend doing 9 and 10 back to back, at least for you. Don't necessarily upload a 2 parter, but you def don't wanna wait in between the eps
that scene is my fav scene, I always cry watching it lol yes, I cried again watching it now, I love it so much it took me a while to realize and accept it, but Tsukki is my fav character
AAAHHH this was the episode!! This moment makes me tear up every time I watch it. Tsukki's growth is my favorite thing about Haikyuu! Can't wait for my second favorite moment later this season! I just know you're gonna be hyped af watching it lol.
HAHA YESSSSS LETS GOOOO! Been waiting for this one!! Tsukki finally getting his moment in vball will always make me tear up. Seeing the emotions and hearing Tuskki's voice actor finally able to cheer! Goosebumps the entire time!! I also love how observant yachi is with the boys, especially the first years! It really shows how fit she is to be the manager for the team!
49:46 so obstinate means stubbornly refusing to change one’s opinion or course of action (thank you google). So basically Akiteru is apologizing for Tsukki’s stubborn/head strong attitude. And in speaking of Tsukishima’s mentality something about him that is kinda highlighted here is that at least in volleyball (since that’s what we’re shown) he seems to have self esteem issues. Like he does down play his own contributions to the team or scoring a point quite a bit. Almost like he doesn’t think he ever does enough. At least that’s how I interpreted it. Though he has gotten better at communication to his teammates and acknowledging their contributions. He just has to give the same credit to himself. That’s why I really appreciate how the upperclassman speak to not just Tsukishima but as well as each other and their younger members.
Amazing episodes and amazing reactions! One thing I wanted to add, that whole “Demon Coach” thing is an artifact of East Asian culture (Korea, Japan, China). Unfortunately it is not uncommon for some coach’s to scream at, insult, and yes even hit their players. Even high schoolers. It’s really sad. Sometimes when they are forbidden from hitting their players, they will force their players to hit themselves or will give them punishments like “run until you puke.” Anyways, that is to say a powerhouse school with an infamously mean/physical coach is a pretty common story beat/reality of sports in East Asia!
like everyone else i've been looking forward to this scene and I always tear up watching it another thing I find really awesome about haikyuu is how it covers the class and privilige difference. hinata started from nothing with a ragtag team from a small school and then went to karasuno where the volleyball club was seen as having had its "golden age" already and had no coach and small number of player (8) and only 4 1st year applicants. they had to ask their community for money to go to tokyo for the camp and everything, so they're obviously not well funded. as hinata put it they're "concrete". then in contrast we have kageyama who came from a power house school and went to karasuno partly because he didn't get into shiratorizawa but also because he respected ukai, so to some degree it was his second pick. most of his old teammates went to aoba johsai (seijoh) which is a strong private school. then we have shiratorizawa which is also a private school "academy" and as we saw it is very grand and obviously well funded, difficult to get into through usual means (an exam) unless you get sponsored through a sport membership. the volleyball team had the best option of player picks and funds to aid the players in a massive way. as ushijima put it "good soil". sorry it got a bit long but i'm just very passionate about how well written haikyuu is and how many aspects of life it covers
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!! The amount of self-control it took for me to not immediately forward to see your reaction to Tsukki’s moment 😂 I have been waiting for this ever since you started trash talking him in season 1 😂.. Tsukki’s scream never fails to make me tear up every damn time 🥹🥹🥹
The timing! You said it would be tomorrow, but I got it the same day in my country,My Favourite moment of Tsukki for real,Love your Reactions as always!!🤌🏼🤌🏼🧡🧡
THE Haikyuu moment. His scream always makes me cry. He’s had this dam of apathy built up for so long and with that scream it finally bursts and he lets himself feel for the sport (and his performance) for the first time. This past season of subtle character development pays off here so well. Just amazing. Welcome to the Tsukki-club!
When i think of greatest Haikyuu moments, Ep. 4 is easily in the Top three no question doubt The guy in a trucker hat is just a Tsundere, it's fine Edit: Everytime I watch Tsukki setting up that kill block, my whole body is just filled with goosebumps
So perfect for timing, I got my Great King shirt. I wore it for this reaction. We have waited forever for you to reach to this episode. It’s so amazing and Tsukki’s growth makes me cry happy tears ( mind you I have watched this show many times ) you can’t help but scream with him and the rest of the boys. Haha we did also tell you that if you thought the end of season 2 was stressful that this season would be even more stressful. I remember I even said brace yourself. But you will be sweating some more with what happens next. Hopefully you won’t need an AED. This show is just.. ❤ it’s one of my favourite. It makes me miss volleyball soo much and wish I could find a way to play again. Can’t wait for the next episode, bring a fan or towel 😂
That is perfect timing! I'm so glad the shirt arrived well and safe. This episode hit me hard and is easily my favourite so far. We've been here to watch the whole growth so it feels so real and genuine. I'm in the same boat as you for missing volleyball as well! 😭
@@lachyywhite for me my job makes it hard to join some adult clubs( amateur since it’s been too long) but I hope to find one. And don’t mind that I am short.
Tsukki's character development is so gradual and slow unlike Hinata and Kageyama. He doesn't have those explosive moments like Hinata has with his quicks. But I absolutely love how Furudate build all of that up until this one iconic moment and the anime did 100% justice to that. Its that one moment which summarises his whole character, his growth as a player, the massive shift in his mindset and his approach towards the sport. I am glad you reacted to all those episodes and finally reached here. Haikyuu is truly an experience.
Is this THE episode? You BET it is. From the very first (admittedly deserving) Tsukki put down, we were all probably thinking "yeah but just wait until season 3". It is THE slow-burn of slow-burns, the growth that has been building up so so slowly, so subtly, that when Tsukki finally gets his moment, it's like we're all having that moment too. It doesn't matter how many times I see it, the hype is as sharp and clear as the first time. I'm literally sitting here tearing up, waving my arms, clenching my fists, and yelling out right alongside him. It's honestly so reassuring to see Lachy's reactions because it means I'm not alone in how worked up this show makes me. It's just one point. It's just a show about a high school volleyball club. But it's so much more than that, it's a journey, it's a roller coaster, and it makes you feel like you can accomplish anything too, even those things that feel impossible. Yamaguchi's redemption against Seijoh will always be my favorite moment/episode, but this one is a very close second.
The way they told the story of Tsukkis grow was so well done and so much of it was show not tell. We'd been there the whole time as well so it felt so real to finally see him have a pay off for the hard work
Had to come back to comment since I watched on my TV. This is THE episode everyone waits for when watching a reactor because we know it is big! Tsukki's growth is so amazing to watch and this pay off is so worth it. I also love that while he grows, he doesn't change who he essentially is. He is calm, and strategic through out. However, I think it is made all the more impactful by his reaction to it working being almost out of character from what we normally see from him. No one in that gym could possibly miss that it was a massive moment for Tsukki. I got my shirt in and I am so excited to get to wear it. Oikawa is no where on my list of favs but I am happy to be able to support you even just a little. Also on a Haikyuu sub on Reddit the other day there was discussions on reactors and your name was mentioned by 3 or 4 other people BEFORE I even saw the post! You are making an impact on this community! I am SO PROUD OF YOU!
I got mentioned on the sub reddit! Lets go thats sickkkkk. I'm so glad your shirt arrived safely and I really appreciate your support. This tsukki moment was easily one of my favourite and I think it was mainly due to us seeing the growth along with him the whole time. I'm very eager to see where the game goes from here
@@lachyywhite you were. I have to admit I was proud when I saw you already mentioned before I could! Of course I added my own wonderful thoughts about you!
I absolutely love Tsukki's block to get set point I get goosebumbs everytime. Also about Shiratorizawa's number 3 his name is Semi Eita and we the Haikyuu fanbase say that Semi and Suga are long lost twin brothers. They both look alike, they are both 3rd years, they are both setters, they are both pinch servers and they both come into the game to help the morale of their teams. The author of the manga did that on purpose just like he did the similarites between Oikawa and Suga on purpose.
About the last moment when hinata said 100 point is actually should be a flashback when kuroo said about depend on the time 1 score can become like 100 point you should watch that scene in the recap movie karasuno vs shiratorizawa
You know, I already left one comment here, but coming back to the reaction a second time after that initial hype, I actually have more to add. I remember commenting about Kuroo's way of provoking people, and someone asked me something back then. If Tsukki's type of provocation then is the opposite of Kuroo, where he does it to stop things in their tracks. It was a good question because it made me think a lot about how I'd name what Tsukki does, but it stomped me a bit and I ended up not knowing what to reply for a long time. Partially because I had a hard time really putting my finger on it at first, and partially because the answer, I feel, doesn't stay the same throughout the series. And this is the moment when that change really comes to light I think so I'm gonna try getting my thoughts together again now that there's more context. If Kuroo is really good at goading people and pressing their buttons in order to get them fired up in just the right way, what about Tsukki's way of always goading others? I don't have as clean an answer as I do with Kuroo admittedly, because it seems with Tsukki, the intent also changes more depending on WHO he's talking to. But, I'd say at the start of the series, the cleanest answer I could give is that it feels like his tendency to provoke others works as an emotional wall. It's fitting, if you think. His position is middle blocker. And his temperament has him always putting up emotional walls between him and others, so people can't get too close, and neither can HE get too close to people or things. But you see thoswalls slowly lowering across season 2, and in this episode, it finally comes down to a much bigger extent. "It's just a club" but now he cares. And that brings us to the end of the episode, and that final line from him. "Please settle down. The game is just getting started". Tsukki definitely knows how to provoke people, and I think rather than Kuroo, whose use of that is more consistent in intent, Tsukki does it with different people for different goals. But your observation, about him using it, at least at times, to STOP momentum, isn't all wrong. He definitely does that at times, to different degrees of success. But I think what's worth noting is that that's not always to the point of UNPRODICTIVENESS. Rather, he's good at stopping momentum productively, I'd say. That definitely wasn't ALWAYS the case, but that final moment of the episode showcases it a bit. In a team surrounded by extremely hyper and driven people, Tsukki is able to stop momentum of their excitement so as to keep them grounded and focusing on the goal when the excitement is taking them way too far and out of the present moment. To the excitable, hyperdriven first years of Karasuno, Tsukki is a more grounded force who has the ability to stop their momentum when they have the tendency to get distracted by so many things. "I know you're excited about that block and the possibilities, but calm down. We still have a game to focus on, right now." It's just that he hasn't always used it this way. When it comes to people they play AGAINST though, I'd say he definitely just enjoys being a little shit and seeing them get annoyed 😂
And everyone, here is another "Lachy hates this character before and now it's gonna be one of his favourites" This is such a good reaction. This a great birthday treat for me! Thanks lots, Lachy.
There is a player later on that fits the description but for now, Ushijima really does feel like Wilfredo Leon And we were all waiting for this moment for the reaction, Lachy xD Another thing coach Donny mentioned is notice the run up before the serve, Kageyama usually does a three step approach, Oikawa does four, some unrealistically does 6/7
Hinata's line "that point was worth 100 points" has much more depth than it seems. In the manga (and in the movie recaping this match), when they're playing 3-on-3 with Bokuto and Kuroo, Kuroo says something like "sometimes you score a point that's worth 100 points" and Tsukki being all Tsukki says "that's impossible, a point is only worth one point". Hinata saying that, and Tsukishima's smirk makes the whole scene much better.
This is my favorite episode in the whole show! I actually plan on getting a Tsukki tattoo when he yells cause I love it so much! I actually already have a Bokuto tattoo lol but Haikyuu is my favorita anime of all time, I never get tired of watching it!!

I ended up doing both and scared the shit out of my dad😂. Then he asked, "Let me guess....Anime moment?"
Me, between my sobs: "YES!! HE! HE LOVES VOLLEYBALL NOW DAD😭😭💙!"
Dad didn't quite get it until I showed him the episode, but he got why I bawled😅😂
to my knowledge, Tsukki is the first person to shut down Ushikawa his entire 3rd year, and this is the final tournament before nationals. Which explains why Ushikawa is so shaken, and the audience is so shocked and immediately asked who the blocker was.
Ushijima has been blocked in the nationals just not in the prefecture
@@as-lp6cm I'd argue he's probably been blocked in the prefecture. Maybe not in 3rd year tbf, cause they didn't come up against date tech that year
This is the second comment I see claiming this, and there doesn't seem to be any evidence for it
The Halo Around the Moon, is such a GOATEED title!!
Soooo interesting! Thank you for sharing that detail!
Oh cool, thanks for the background info!
42:15 omg that reaction to Ushijima's "Gather them to me" 🤣 I very much feel the same way - it's like every time we start feeling hopeful again, here comes this guy
bro is unstoppable... almost
YOU WORDED IT SO GOOD IM CRYING 😭 "he's not Tsukki's sidekick he's Tsukki's halo" DAMN
And then people wonder why we ship them so hard, they are literally Yin and Yang, foils for each other. The socially awkward extrovert and the socially awkward Introvert😂❤. I love them so much waaa
@@lex_lvs_scaraPoetry👌🏼, and they ain't wrong either
This is perfect and beautiful, thank you for putting that into words, yes! I love it.
And they make an unlikely friend pair, too. I love their dynamic. Like Ushiwaka is an earnest dork and Tendou is his manic pixie dream boy.
@@nevaladder wait thats so perfect. Tendou IS a manic pixie dream boy omfg
you really know something amazing has happened when the quietest person becomes the loudest. its one of those things that sticks out of the whole match. plus seeing that quiet person become the loudest also pumps up the rest of the team. team motivation goes to a million.
I clicked so fast. This is the moment tsukki fell in love with volleyball and viewers fell in love with haikyuu!! If they weren’t already.
Easily the best episode so far, and I agree with you so much on the point about being a coach. That moment is far better then anything else
Tsukki's character arc went on for 3 seasons, which makes it all the more special!
I know it's cliche but this is THE MOMENT for me
I loved this show since the beginning but hearing Tsuki yell and remember when Bokuto told him that he'd be hooked when he was great always makes me tear up
Above Yamaguchi moment is this moment for me and I will never get tired of people's reactions to it
I've never seen season 4
Idk what's there but this is the peak of Haikyuu to me
Tsukki's journey is one we all love to see, the build up leading to this moment is HUGE, and you are so tense and then he stopped Ushijima, and we see the end of the conversation with Yamaguchi, its not something that just happened during the match, Tsukkishima had been _planning_ to stop Ushijima's spike since way before the match even started, and seeing him cheer gives you literal chills, awesome moment ❤
3:14 this is a wordplay in Japanese, Guess is pronounced "gessu" which sounds like the word used for "sleazebag" that's why Yachi was concerned for Hinata
This was the moment Tsukki fell in love with Volleyball and this is the moment we fell in love with Tsukki
shiratorizawa's coach catching strays left and right by lachy 😭😭
And this ep is when Tsukki planted his feet on top of my favorite character list. That whole scene where he finally blocks Ushijima is AMAZING!!! We have been building up to this ever since we got his backstory in the training camp and he got the confidence job with Bokuto, and that SCREAM of triumph always gets me pumped up. All the homies love Tsukki
That's the best thing and most frustrating thing about this show you can't pick a favourite character they're all amazing
You get a little bit more from him later on in the anime, but they cut out some of the moments we get from him and Shirabu (their main setter right now, #10).
they also had all that information in the packet the managers got for them
@@foxinasweater2300 that too actually, you're right!
It was so masterfully written
"Gather them to me" is still one of the best lines in this season, it's just so cool!
Soooo cool
Tendo is so likeable even in his weirdness, he’s just a fun character to watch 😂😆
Your reactions are always really thoughtful I appreciate it a lot!
I also felt like my heart was gonna explode hahah
there it is- my all time favourite moment of haikyuu, manga moments included. seeing tsukishima block like that makes me hyped every time i watch it
You asked "I wonder how many times [Ushijima] has been kill-blocked like that." The answer is ZERO (at least when playing at the high school level).
Ushijima's been blocked during High School Nationals. But hasn't been blocked in his prefecture. Tsukishima was the only one to block him.
How do you know this? Is it one of the things that didnt make it into the anime but was in the manga? Not tryna be rude or anything. Genuinely curious @@blackpanther10105
damn i wish they put this info in the anime, would've hyped me up even more
It's impossible for spikers to never get kill blocked.
Suga always watching everyone, he has those elite people skills
Aren’t you glad you did a double episode. 😊 We’ve enjoyed YOUR Tsuki arc.
I think I’ve rewatched season 3 like 4 times in the past 2 weeks and I have goosebumps every single time. I think I’ve sobbed about 10 times too. Season 3 is tsukki’s season and you can’t convince me otherwise
Put Tsukki, Oikawa, Kuroo and Tendo in the same room and watch the world burn 😂
Thats a crazy room 😂
Plus a certain setter that I'm excited for Lachy to meet. 😁
and then throw an inrovert like Kenma (or me) in there and wait to see how it takes for them to have a mental breakdown lol
I was sweating like you through this whole season and I would hear the "Shiii- ra- torizawa!" chant in my head for daaaays hahahah. Grateful you did 2 eps for Tsukki!!
The chats are always stuck in my head now hahah
Tsukki's block is one of, if not the greatest moment in Haikyuu. Seeing his overall growth is such a heartwarming moment for me and his journey is one of the coolest most realistic ones I have ever seen on media. Such an awesome player!
Also, can we take a moment to appreciate Lachy's mexican t-shirt? Hahahahaha it's great! As a mexican I envy you a lot and wish I had one like that.
Its definitely one of my favourite moments so far, we've been there for the whole growth. And the shirt is pretty cool hey! hahah
23:17 btw here in the manga he said keep in mind how often u send the ball to wakatoshi I think he's tryna say don't just pass the ball to him and he basically got mad coz shirabu the setter didn't pay much importance to his words
yeah! this is important too to semi's character later on. and shirabu's i think
OUR BOY TSUKKI FINALLY HAD HIS MOMENT 😭💙
I wish more people understood his character
For those who watched movie, When he showed up in that one moment i remember i screamed in movie theatre
Im feeling the exact same abt him! He is fun entertaining sweet ❤👊
@@dorian8875 Let's go. Tendo protection squad 🤝

And there it is: the moment Tsukki started to love volleyball
Ever since you've shared in an episode in Season 1 the nitty-gritty details in your blocking style, I've been holding myself to say this until this Season 3 episode, so I'll say it now especially it's not talked about that much here in the comments (or maybe nobody else remembers, though it's good that you re-narrated it in your reaction):
💯 Lachy, you are the very embodiment of Satori Tendo's offensively instinctual "guess blocking" (i.e., what I call commit blocking on steroids); you explaining how Tendo managed to block Hinata before Haikyuu!! even explained it just solidifies how you are the irl Guess Monster! 💯
Great reaction btw for witnessing Tsukki's glory in the power of his defensively systematic read blocking!
Don't necessarily upload a 2 parter, but you def don't wanna wait in between the eps
oof. yeah, he might pop a vein if he doesn't. O.O
8:26 yeah, when you shared how you play middle back in S1 we all thought about Tendou who has pretty similar playstyle with you 😄
the way i cried for him like he's my biological son the first time i watched it. i'm really like a proud mom
AMEN! So proud

I haven't even watched the reaction but I'm already so excited for this!!! been waiting for this moment for so long
that scene is my fav scene, I always cry watching it lol
yes, I cried again watching it now, I love it so much
it took me a while to realize and accept it, but Tsukki is my fav character
i cried so hard during "that" moment!
AAAHHH this was the episode!! This moment makes me tear up every time I watch it. Tsukki's growth is my favorite thing about Haikyuu! Can't wait for my second favorite moment later this season! I just know you're gonna be hyped af watching it lol.
Ohhhhh shiittttt. That scene, esp when it cuts to his brother always makes me tear up
That bit hit me hard as well hahaha
Always crying with this episode...was waiting for this
HAHA YESSSSS LETS GOOOO!
Yachi is the absolute best, and Tsukki's voice actor been holding it in the whole show hahah
THE BEST PART IF THE SERIES. TSUKISHIMA MOMENT❤❤❤
45:56 man, that moment is probably equivalent to winning the game. That single block was epic
Been waiting for this episode since ep 1 🙏 big W from tsukki
Amazing episodes and amazing reactions! One thing I wanted to add, that whole “Demon Coach” thing is an artifact of East Asian culture (Korea, Japan, China). Unfortunately it is not uncommon for some coach’s to scream at, insult, and yes even hit their players. Even high schoolers. It’s really sad. Sometimes when they are forbidden from hitting their players, they will force their players to hit themselves or will give them punishments like “run until you puke.”
Anyways, that is to say a powerhouse school with an infamously mean/physical coach is a pretty common story beat/reality of sports in East Asia!
Finally, someone who doesn't outright hate tendo when they first meet him and finds him entertaining T__T
bro is funny and devious
like everyone else i've been looking forward to this scene and I always tear up watching it
another thing I find really awesome about haikyuu is how it covers the class and privilige difference.
hinata started from nothing with a ragtag team from a small school and then went to karasuno where the volleyball club was seen as having had its "golden age" already and had no coach and small number of player (8) and only 4 1st year applicants. they had to ask their community for money to go to tokyo for the camp and everything, so they're obviously not well funded. as hinata put it they're "concrete".
then in contrast we have kageyama who came from a power house school and went to karasuno partly because he didn't get into shiratorizawa but also because he respected ukai, so to some degree it was his second pick. most of his old teammates went to aoba johsai (seijoh) which is a strong private school.
then we have shiratorizawa which is also a private school "academy" and as we saw it is very grand and obviously well funded, difficult to get into through usual means (an exam) unless you get sponsored through a sport membership. the volleyball team had the best option of player picks and funds to aid the players in a massive way. as ushijima put it "good soil".
sorry it got a bit long but i'm just very passionate about how well written haikyuu is and how many aspects of life it covers
The best episode/scene/moment. I've rewatched a dozen times but I still get emotional.. also Tsukki x Tendo interactions r hilarious
The scream reached into my soul hahah
When i think of greatest Haikyuu moments, Ep. 4 is easily in the Top three no question doubt
The guy in a trucker hat is just a Tsundere, it's fine
Edit: Everytime I watch Tsukki setting up that kill block, my whole body is just filled with goosebumps
Great reaction which we all were waiting for.
Tsukki's moment has come!! Why am I so happy that Tsukki was hooked on volleyball!? 🥲
Another Fantastic video! Thanks for allowing us to watch with you and the double episode. Hype for the next videos
5:28 Tendo looks at the opponent's eyes to understand where they will spike (he's my 2nd favourite character btw)
Hahaha i can definitely see it now that you've mentioned it 😂
finally we are here from the first episode i saw you react i was waiting for this one ep
it's the way that one tsukki scream never fails to deliver the chills even after the million time you've watched it for me
It reached into my soul haha
I love Tsuki, he sits behind, he observes and he brings that brain into the team.
This is in my top 3. There's two more moments in this season that are sick. But my number one is next season.
Me seeing the Notification for this Episode is like Tsukki seeing the chance to Block Ushiwaka.....
Tsukki's celebratory yell will always be the scene 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
And everyone, here is another "Lachy hates this character before and now it's gonna be one of his favourites"
This is such a good reaction. This a great birthday treat for me! Thanks lots, Lachy.
Happy birthday!
@@CaffieneKitty thank you so much! :DD
HAHAHA true true. And happy birthday!!! I hope you had a wonderful day
No one can get through episode 4 without loving Tsukki. He's our boy. He just needs a little time to cook
At last! My boy! Now Lachy can admit he's a Tsukki enjoyer!
There is a player later on that fits the description but for now, Ushijima really does feel like Wilfredo Leon
And we were all waiting for this moment for the reaction, Lachy xD
Another thing coach Donny mentioned is notice the run up before the serve, Kageyama usually does a three step approach, Oikawa does four, some unrealistically does 6/7
Hinata's line "that point was worth 100 points" has much more depth than it seems.
THATS SO MUCH BETTER! Thanks for explaining that for me oml
The night is beautiful when the full moon is out
1... And finally we reached the best episode with literally the best scene in anime history
This is my favorite episode in the whole show! I actually plan on getting a Tsukki tattoo when he yells cause I love it so much! I actually already have a Bokuto tattoo lol but Haikyuu is my favorita anime of all time, I never get tired of watching it!!
Getting that tattoo would be superrrr cool
* in Kars voice* "I've been waiting 4- no, 5000 years for this"
OH GOD HERE IT COMES, MY FAV MOMENT
I've been waiting for this moment for SO LONG!! Absolute cinema.
Yamaguchi and Tsukki really have some of the best character growth episodes so far AAAA
Shout out to your mate who stepped in and told you to watch both of these episodes together! We all owe him a pint or something haha
We gonna buy him some kfc
And now you know what your next tshirt will be 👊
I was so excited for this reaction the fact it's here! Eeeeeeek I am so freaking excited right now
Just so u know, almost every reactors I watch, they had the same hype for tsuki episode. This show how proud we are with tsukishima ❤️
