She's had surgery for nodes multiple times. Nobody would deny how amazing her voice sounds, but she doesn't sing in a way that's healthy

That crackling in her voice is exactly what we guitar players are looking for. The edge of breakup is the holy grail of tone. Adele knows it. It's perfect.
She's said that this song gives her a lot of anxiety when she sings it live. She did a show on ITV and she actually had to stop singing this and start again because she was nervous. I imagine that's why she's singing it differently. The original version has a lot more light and shade so I imagine going from the low notes to the really big notes is a bit more scary.
True. The itv show is incredible. As a listener, I couldnt notice the difference and difficultly of this song. Surely vocal coach does. But I respect her, she chose to start again. What a queen.

Also I love how people said, "she needs to be careful after losing all that weight!" Like there have been singers who have lost weight and their voices haven't changed much (Jennifer Hudson being one and now Adele).

She does do the cracks more often over the course of 30 but I loved it. Personally I love how “imperfect” she sounds live. You can tell how she feels about a song. Like which songs make her the most emotional (like Someone Like You). She’s expressive in every way and I think that’s what ppl love the most about her.

Kelly Clarkson's music director has 3 slightly different arrangements for each song, which accounts for where her voice is on a given day. Voices like Kelly and Adele will vary slightly from day to day.
Adele’s just on another level
Adele is literally one of the greatest vocalists i know of. People like to talk down on her or say that her style of singing isn’t good. However most those people are the ones who can’t hold a high note the same way she does.

It’s not even them being haters all it is is just peer and utter jealousy. When your at the top and have a voice like Adele, your always gonna have people who are jealous. Adele being the goddess she is doesn’t let it affect her and she does what she wants and feels is best for her.

Seeing how people have been examining Adele's singing with 30 is giving me strong "downfall" herd mentality vibes meaning that people have built her to (deservedly so imo) and now they want to pick her apart to see if she's truly worthy of being recognized for her art and voice, people feel very entitled to speak about things when they shouldn't because that's what social media has trained us to do, we have seen it multiple times with Taylor Swift being a very notable example of this (her Netflix documentary is all about this and is a must see). I appreciate hearing a voice coach calling out the BS and standing up to people especially regarding how she's been very forthcoming with her stage fright (just look up all the videos where she stops mid lyric to restart) which has been one of the things people have loved about her and her performing. I love that Adele is so expressive with her face, body, and hands because it really helps connect the performance to myself as I watch and listen. Great take Tristan!

Voice cracks are the equivalent to harmonics on guitar. They're a great way to communicate intensity and subvert expectations.
I think the people trying to correct her singing should try singing this song the way she does so they can see not only how idiotic they sound but also how hard it is to sing the way she does and do her techniques. She has such a unique voice and vocal range.

Adele’s voice isn’t perfect, that’s why it’s so perfect. Celine/Whitney/Mariah are technical to the point that it can be robotic - Adele could never, her voice is too real.

The fact she isn’t always spot on is why we adore her. There’s always critics. The fact she choose to release music or not and we still go mad for her shows how great she is. Plus I cannot wait to see her live this year. Saved for 18 months for 2 tickets.

as a 19-year-old in college, i don’t sing professionally or anything like that, but i do love to sing and am always singing in my car or in the shower or with my friends and sometimes i do things that might feel wrong to me. however, it feels “extra” for me to go to an ENT and tell them that i sing for fun and was just curious. but since i’m self taught, i’m not so sure what to think. WHAT DO YOU THINK TRISTAN?

I’m loving the way she’s using her vice rn, she’s doing more runs, using more head voice, she’s slaying. Btw I wonder if that thing in her voice is intentional, I don’t know the name but 7:46 that!, she also does that in to be loved studio version and hold on, and some other high notes on the album.
