I have PCOS and amenorrhea. I’ve been to countless doctors who won’t help me get to the bottom of this and immediately just want to throw me on some medication and tell me to “lose weight”. I’m so sick of being told to just “lose weight” as if that will solve every single issue I have. I feel failed and I just wish I had a doctor like you who actually cares. 😞
Same. I have always had irregular periods.I had my thyroid checked and it was normal. I had bloodwork done. I am iron/ vitamin D deficient. I started taking a pressed pill for iron by Blood Food (from Amazon)I felt the results in 3 days and my blood work improved. I started walking for 1 hour a day and drinking a gallon of water with lemon and I had a colonic. I started losing weight and my period came back. Hope this helps❤
My first period came when i was 9. I had heavy bleeding and everything was normal until it suddenly stopped at the age of 10. I was really scared and talked about this to many doctors. I never got an answear and everyone told me it was normal. I had discharges but never perriods for a long period of time. I eventually discovered i had a massive vitam D defiency and i had to take medications. My period started to come but VERY irregular. After taking vitamin D my period FINNALY came. Its all normal now,im almost 14 and my period comes every month. Sometimes a little late but i finally feel healthy and normal ❤ Don't worry, sometimes it can also be due to an unhealthy diet, vitamin defiency, hormonal imbalances or maybe your just not ready. Stay sfae girls!
When I first started my period at 12 years old, I didn’t start it again until two years later. I was uneducated about skipped periods around that time and never told anybody and didn’t think to go to a doctor. I didn’t have any other symptoms and my periods are regular nowadays. I don’t know if that is normal or not or if I should be worried, but I feel fine and my body is functioning normally.
Could you please discuss too many periods, rather than too few? Why would medications give you more than one period a month when you've always been regular? Could you do a video on how neurological medications (such as anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, anti-seizure, etc) impact our reproductive hormones?
It took years to get diagnosed with MRKH. Was always told I was a late bloomer after running blood work, it coming back normal, and not much testing thereafter.
I don’t plan on getting pregnant so it doesn’t bother me that I’m not having a period, but I removed my second mirena IUD in May and still have not had a period. Not one drop. My doc said it’s because I’m overweight. I’ve been working out and eating right, still nothing. Doc says I shouldn’t worry. Not sure if I need a second opinion. Off and on nausea, slight abdominal cramping from time to time similar to when I had an ovarian cyst but that’s pretty much it.
Hi there - I'm finding your videos very informative. Question: do you have any experience with fibroids (in particular multiple and large fibroids) and pregnancy, and would you consider doing a video on fibroids, how it affects fertility, getting pregnant, risks during pregnancies, and possible treatments before getting pregnant? Thank you!
I really wish that there is more awareness of this condition. I have primary amenorhea and it sucks that people want my condition because I dont get periods but in reality it shouldn’t be something that people want. I always wanted children too and I was grieving. 2 months since my diagnosis.
I have “lean PCOS” no problems with my weight and all my labs are normal except my progesterone that’s always low 😢, I’m currently TTC but I want to get my body back to having periods. The last cycle I had to get medication to induce my period and used letrozole to ovulated but still low progesterone on day 21 . Is there hope for me to convince. I have change my diet &do Pilates ! I’d like to say I don’t have much stress . I’m really sad that I have something so unexplainable and I want to become a mother I’m 33 and feel like I waited to long ???
That was a really good video describing the female in sexual reproduction my questions were way beyond my understanding and you explained everything about the lack of reproductive abilities well
Thank you so much for this educational video! I haven’t had my period for 2.5 years and I went to see 4 local gynaecologists and they either told me I’m too fat or period is not important, didn’t do any tests… Then I went to see a gynaecologist abroad and they told me the same thing, that it’s better not to have periods, also didn’t do any tests… I haven’t had my period ever since I lost 10kg and exercise 3x a week (I used to not exercise at all)… Now I exercise almost everyday and still trying to lose weight because I’m not at my ideal body fat % yet… But I don’t know… Maybe I should stop? Or maybe I should try to increase my weight instead to get my period back? I don’t want to be obese though… Would increasing my muscle but have a low body fat still work? Thank you so much! ❤
Why don't doctors test progesterone also when someone loses their period? I see an N.D. currently for my periods and she has me on progesterone. I have had a history of restricting food/disordered eating, and have a mental health disability as well so I do lose periods at times.
Could you talk about this topic when it comes to birth control? Specifically the depo shot? There is just not enough information and i know myself and others are just so lost starting our TTC journeys
Could you talk about Post pill amenorrhea? Or getting pregnant after birth control. I was on BC pill for 9 years, ive been off of it for 3 months and no period.
I would be interested in learning more about how thyroid issues can cause anovulation. Also, how is treatment handed in these cases? Just fertility meds?
how does amenorrhea be treated that is caused by hypothyroid ? I'm struggling with this from 4 months after 3rd month i went to gynae she gave me delivry 10mg i got my period but now again after month i am not getting it
My gyno blamed it on my weight, she says I was too lean and that if I don’t care to get prego but want to have a period then I should go on birth control
This video was very informative! Thank you. I was getting frustrated because all my labs are normal, no high FSH no high LH, normal E2, no PCOS. However, Im not ovulating regularly and Im having scanty light periods or I miss them completely. I've had vag dryness and atrophy and low libido. The only thing the doctor found was low AMH and AFC of 5/11. Im wondering if I have FHA. I will bring this up to my doctor.
My periods been irregular, my uterus tube and ovaries are perfect. Hormones are normal besides high amh for my age so I don’t know why they are irregular
I'm wondering about how to increase or balance estrogen. It seems my levels can get very low and I get terrible night sweats, irregular periods and rarely, but it happens, I skip periods and am 41 years old. I've always been like this and doctors haven't been helpful as my blood tests are fine apart from occasionally having low estrogen, but then if I retest at a different time it's fine.
My first period started when I was 7 and I’ve always had heavy periods I took a depo shot after my son was born I haven’t had a period since June and I don’t know what’s wrong with me?
Hi Dr Crawford. I have not seen my period for a year now. Last year April I had my copper IUD removed ( 1 day after my last period) and I have not had my period since. I do monthly feel my ovulation in which have heavy cramps So bad that my underbelly cramps up when I do #1 or #2. I have seen 3 gynecologists and went to my doctor numerous times but no one and see what is wrong. Can you maybe steer me in the right direction as to what it could be? As I am writing this to you now, I am experiencing heavy cramps. I am really desperate for help. Thank you in advance.
I wish I knew what I knew now in 2019. I got off birth control June 2019 got a period July went to my family doctor in October because I wasn’t having my period and wanted a referral to a fertility doctor. He said I had to wait for a year and blamed my weight for not having my period. I wish I knew I could use the walk in clinics to get one. I did get diagnosed with PCOS
I haven't had a period since June I went to the doctor. I did all the test ultrasound and blood work to look at thyroid and hormone levels everything normal. So I like to know what to do to get my period back
Hello! I was on birth control for 6 years & have been off for almost a year and a half, I have yet to have periods besides 1. I’m going to the OBGYN at the end of June and was wondering what tests I should ask for. I work out regularly, normal weight for my height and age, No overwhelming stress in my life, no acne, etc, I was on the shot and have never had any impending surgeries… still so unsure on if it’s just the depo causing the delay in periods or if it’s something else. I discharge normal going through the phases of creamy to clear stretchy discharge. Would love to know what to ask for before my Dr. Visit! Thank you
Doctor, can you have more discussion on oligomenorrhea? Doctors I have seen said my hormones were normal and attributed to stress and low BMI. I tried very hard to manage stress but still no progress for years. Hope to hear your advice
Can are still get pregnant if haven't had your periods for years? It takes about 3-4 years after i had my period for the first time at age 16. The last time i had a period again was 2015. My Dr. prescribed Estradiol, which im currently taking will it help? Im really worried.
Hello there, i have amenorrhea, i'm from the Philippines. i never have menstruation since birth. I never get to have a check up, then i just have a little research and i found out that pills can help amenorrhea so i try to take untill i discharge dark brown I don't know if it's blood or a white blood then i stopped cause im scared 😅. Is it normal that you can feel headache, dry throat, hair loss, a little bit hurt on private part, feel dizzy, vomiting bad tasting about sweets, loss appetite, even you eat a lot you're stomach feels like empty, then feel tired averyday. Is that normal?
I started mine at 12 and I’m currently 13 I lately have been exercising a lot and lost 5 kg but with that process I also stoped getting my period I’m not really sure what is happening if someone knows what is happening
I suffer from migraines and eczema when I went to see the specialist he said my testosterone levels are high and he said I need to lose weight and looked at my neck and said I look like I have insulin resistance so I’m confused how can he say that just by looking at me without knowing that the darkness in my neck is caused by my mixed eczema and acanthosis nigricans
Hi, just been recently diagnosed with a septate uterus. Would be very interesting if you would make a video about uterus anomalies and share your cases that you´ve seen, recovery, complications etc.
I’m desperate-if anyone in the comments has had something similar to me please let me know. My labs are normal but I only have a few periods a year. I have no idea what is wrong ☹️
Do you have a history of an ED? My labs are good but because I was under weight for so many years my doctor told me my body still doesn't trust I won't revert and my body wants the labs to be high not just normal.
Can you have undiagnosed PCOS for most of your adult cycles then develop POI? Would you still get the PCOS symptoms even with a very low egg reserve now? Thanks
I would love some additional insight or reliable resources on bone strength and amenorrhea! If bone strength is found to be low in 20s/30s, what type of DR do you work with? Is birth control a good solution to build bone strength (I’ve heard mixed messages)? Is it better to work on getting a natural period back (even if that means months to years without a cycle)? Is it safe to be pregnant/breastfeed with low bone strength? I think bone strength is a huge part of amenorrhea that I would love more accurate information about. Thanks so much for all you do 💕
mujhe pcod hai or periods without pills nai aate mai kya kru pls pray for me to be for fertility 🥺mam pls tell me what step should i take to get perfect syste
Vitex Berry "Chaste Tree" Gaia brand x 2 per day (high dose) and your period will likely return in a week or 2. Try it. Also, Fairhaven FH Pro for women if you're trying to conceive. Be sure not to double up on supplements, which is why I recommend Vitex separately and in the Gaia brand. Fairhaven sell a Vitex/fertility mix called Fertilaid, but you can't use FH Pro and Fertilaid together, which again is why I recommend the Fairhaven FH Pro + Gaia brand Vitex. All the best!
I started mine at 8 which it's been a while since that day and I still question, why did my body start at 8? An age that's not fit for a young kid and not even 14 or 16. I’m glad you mentioned the pituitary adenoma because that’s why I have high prolactin. Why is it so hard to find an endocrinologist though!
Wow! This was extremely helpful. 😊

Could be premature/early perimenopause. Your symptoms sound like estrogen deficiency.
My periods been irregular, my uterus tube and ovaries are perfect. Hormones are normal besides high amh for my age so I don’t know why they are irregular
Maybe vitamin defiency? Or an unhealthy diet? Did it come now?
i dont have my period for almost 12 years.

Absolutely right disscus on amenorrhea
I suffer from migraines and eczema when I went to see the specialist he said my testosterone levels are high and he said I need to lose weight and looked at my neck and said I look like I have insulin resistance so I’m confused how can he say that just by looking at me without knowing that the darkness in my neck is caused by my mixed eczema and acanthosis nigricans
Acanthosis nigricans is a sign of insulin resistance which is the primary cause of PCOS.
Still get pregnant no period
I'm 44 days late on my period and my been hurting
Thanks Doc 💗
