Hi..... yes, they are decent amps for the money. Not overly loud, but clean and very usable as rehearsal amps. The 2112's are powerful enough to take on stage or use as front of house in small venues. Cheers - A
Hi.. congrats on the SD2000. It's a great kit ! If you opt for the DA2108 or 2110, you may want to consider also purchasing the DA12s Sub. Your SD2000 will sound really good without the Sub, but GREAT with the Sub. Cheers -A
I’m in an apartment right now and me and my roommates like to have jam sessions on weekends. I’m running my drums currently through a little fender guitar amp 😂 this may be a stupid question, but would the 2108 be an upgrade worth the cost. I’m really just looking for something with better bass and clearer phrasing between $100 and $200
Greetings! It depends on how much bass you're expecting out of an 8" speaker. If you're looking for deep, sub frequency bass, then you will need to add a sub to your setup. IMO, the 2108 would be a nice apartment amp with just enough bass for your kits... and to keep your neighbors from pounding on the ceilings and walls ! Cheers - A
Id presume a big yes, it would be an upgrade. Guitar amps don’t typically have much if any bass and also lack quality highs. They are typically for guitar mids. I have the 2108 and love it for my edrums and BT music, and for playing both together. It sounds really clear and I find the bass to be quite rich. I do keep it on pole mode even though I don’t have it on a pole. It just sounds better imo (deeper bass in that mode).
@@voiceindustrie I tried but man their customer service suck takes forever and called sucks as well. Their website doesn’t allow for ordering xtra parts
Hi Dale... a stereo pair mounted on poles will give provide the best "staging" experience. While the 8's won't deliver the bottom end "thump" that a 12 will, adding a Simmons Sub to the system will round out the bottom end to a 2108 stereo pair very nicely. :-)
I bought a DA2110 for a small gig and it was woefully underpowered. I had to crank the volume on Titan 50 module and on the amp to max and it still wasn't loud enough. I'm not convinced the DA2112 will be much better so does anyone have a recommendation for an amp or powered speaker with some serious punch? Would like to keep it simple (single unit) for small gigs.
Hi... one DA2110 might not be enough in your case. Perhaps look at pairing it with another 2110. A 2112 is plenty loud, but then again with any amp, it's never "one size fits all". If in doubt, rent first then buy if you can. Cheers -A
Hello, I read a lot of bad reviews on the Simmons DA2112, but The DA2108 has a ton of good reviews. Most of the complaints are with the over volume and sound. Having to crank up the volume of whatever they are using to hook into the amp and then having to turn the amp way up. Do you know why this is? I am actually considering the DA2108 but I would not mind going up to the DA2112 to get a little more volume for practice. Thanks
Hi.... it could be just that the input levels are padded slightly different by default between models. In any event, the 2112 delivers plenty of power, and we all know that an amp sounds best when cranked to almost full anyway. Happy drumming! :-) -A
I sampled all three- 2108, 10, and 12. I actually found the 12 to not sound as good as the 10 and 08. I feel the bass/low frequency drowned out the highs a bit. I decided on the 08. Sounded really good and much better price. The 10 was good too, but just didn’t find it better enough for the extra $115.
Easier and cheaper to patch drums through house pa speakers. out to a good sound man on 16 channel mixing board. Sounds great you can use monitor or headset. Sit back 😎 chill
Actually, I do play cymbals... 🙂... but please refer to the 2:00 mark where I clearly state that it is best to go hear the DA Series in person. A sub kick played in this video would not have sounded anywhere close to the actual room sound. Cheers! -A
Glad I came across this video guide. I’ve been looking at getting an amp for my drum kit and this brand seems perfect.

For only in house play, would you rather do one 12", or two 8" paired for stereo?

Well, yes of course. There's no one setup that suits all. Just throwing out some options. :P
Good video I haven't seen your video in awhile from you how you been

Alan- your playing includes no low bass drum or cymbals, the ends of the spectrum that are so important to drums. Serious oversight!
