Lucie, I wanted to commend your remarkable efforts in showcasing the beauty of Sri Lanka to the world. Given your marriage and residency status in Sri Lanka, I believe you should consider applying for a Sri Lankan ID card. I believe, this should entitle you to local rates rather than tourist rates when visiting Sri Lanka’s attractions. Your contribution to the community deserves better recognition.
You are doing an incredible job promoting Sri Lanka. Hope the Minister of Tourism & the Tourist board recognizes and appreciates all your efforts! Thk Lucie & Lahiru
Lucie, I'm sri Lankan who currently live in Australia...I have never been to these places in sri Lanka....thanks for sharing this.... love you guys lot.....miss sri lanka..😕
Lots of sympathy for your poor feet Lucie! I remember that heat from doing Anuradhapura with bare feet a few years ago. Glad you got to see Dambulla but I think those monkeys are not evolving in a good way! They were always rather pushy but those were intimidating, maybe because some of them had babies. Lovely how dogs just seem to gravitate towards Lahiru, they trust him immediately. Enjoy the next leg of your travels too.
Wow Lucy❤❤❤❤ thank you and Lahiru for sharing your beautiful spiritual journey🙏this means so much to me. I cannot visit there but at least you have shared these meaningful beautiful temples and places with us❤❤❤love from Trinidad 🇹🇹
Love love love today's vlog ❤ " Aiyo" in vain what happened to the Drone, as those shots were epic. Especially the drones shots of the TUKTUK so cute, speeding on dirt roads 😊 Lucie and Lahiru living THE best life. Your music selection as always on point, especially the "PIRITH" during your visit to the Ridee Temple. So glad that you and Lahiru had a special time at the Ridee Temple and the monk was so kind to you two. Those monkeys were cheeky. Lucie getting directions from Lahiru 😅 Hope you'll be able to get a GPS soon. Thank you for showing us beautiful inhibited places in Sri Lanka. Cant wait for your next travel adeventure. Safe travels you two ❤ Blessings 🙏
Hope your drone is working right Lucie. I was not able to follow three videos due to several things happening at my end. Thank you for highlighting some really quiet, nature - bound places in our country. I’ve never been to Menikdena and it should be visited sometime soon. The reason why monasteries were built high up on mountainous terrain was for the very selfless, pious monks to mediate and stay away from human contact. Their needs were few, with basic requirements for sustenance compared to the commercialised publicity given to temples now. I so wish people didn’t have to empty lakes of lotuses, depriving the many insects of their nectar and existence. Shrines are covered in flowers for short spells, then thrown senselessly. I’m sure by now, you know that most of our cave paintings are from natural colours derived from parts of plants, and not from toxic colours from tins. Thank you Lucie and Lahiru for the lovely video and your quiet tone which enhances the type of environment you are in. It’s so nice.
Beautiful video of Sri Lanka's incredible Buddhist history. Thank you Lucie for giving a brief explanation of each place's history. Most travel bloggers half the time don't know anything about the places they visit. You're doing a great service promoting Sri Lanka. Love the background music too ❤
Lucie and Lahiru thank you so much for sharing the most amazing video the temples monkeys sceneries and all. Lucie you have seen more 0:28 of Sri Lanka. I’m born there but I have never been on an adventure like you both do. Lucie you might be getting tired of driving on your own. If Lahiru gets the license he could share the driving be safe and I’m praying for you both . god bless.❤❤❤🌺👍🌼🌹👍💐🌼👍👍
Thank you for sharing these amazing videos with us. Much loving kindness, compassion and empathy ... towards ALL living beings, the theme of today's video.
DJI Drones usually go out of control when they loose GPS signals Lucie, I believe that is what happened to your one, the dense tree cover around may have momentarily blocked the signals and from there on it becomes an ordinary RC Helicopter and it is awefully difficult to control the unit I believe there's a bloke in Colombo who can do minor repairs and servicing, looking him up on the Internet, else you may have to send it back to China or whereever you bought it from for repairs, shall post details of the guy here if I do find it. My Mavic Pro2 had to go back to China as it hit a high voltage power line and broke the camera and an arm on impact with the ground.🤦♂️ In the mean time enjoy your travels and stay safe. Cheers, Michael.
My Great grand fathers did the painting works at Silver Temple. aka Ridee Viharaya and Dambulla. Actually they are two branches of a same family. They got lot of gifts from the past kings, Very happy to see them... Thanks.
I love Ridi Temple too Lucie, even more peaceful during puja time, also Madikdena area and its surroundings so quiet. All the atmosphere of this land. Beautiful must-see Dambulla... I also like your other white shirt with blue elephants 😊 Super video 🙏 have a great and safe time on your road trip.
Hi Lucie 🙂 ...you are married to a Sri Lankan so, you have every right that every Sri Lankan has....you don't have to pay as a foreigner now and you only remove your slippers when you are entering the Temple only, not when outside the Temple ...be safe have fun 😊
@@rathy_v No don't spread lies. These places are open to everyone and free for locals, and some places are free for even foreigners. there's no one to check your ethnicity. In some places you will be asked to remove caps, hats, scarfs and sort of things as showing respect to the place. And that is applied to everyone
I Lucie and Lahiru If you like quiet places not so much touristic, please visit Rakkhiththa kanda cave temple in Ella. It's a place in a jungle with a monk so kind and friendly. It's a place for meditation.
Omg you have bren attacked by the latest flower bandits..lol. never seen that before..must be the new generations learned through the years watching humans..btw that little dog you met probably has a home from the look of its skin ..hope so..wow Dambulla is soo crowded..😢. Getting lost is fun in away but again the hot sun is no fun when you are trying to find your way..can't wait for the next video.
Lucie well done on this video. You are so knowledgeable about the culture in Sri Lanka. Lahiru is also interested in his country. So sorry you have to purchase a visitor ticket as you are a resident, married in the country to Lahiru. Thats bad, there must be something that their system can change to help the likes of you. Keep up your good work, you both do a great job. Stay safe and well.🎉❤🙋✅🎊
The small ones are fine, no problem! The big ones who run at you with their teeth on show is quite intimidating 🤣 I left my shoes at the golden stupa thinking that I had to leave them there to enter the complex but I was so wrong and my feet paid the price!
@@whereslucie oh no, that's scary! I would have been a bag of nerves 🙈 Your poor feet, did you get blisters? Another question I wanted to ask, can Lahiru drive the tuk tuk?
Dear Friends, If any electronic device gets wet remove the BATTERY or power supply as soon as possible. Then dry it very well ( Hint - Put it in sealed a plastic bag with Silica pebbles. and leave maybe one or two days) Hope your drone is ok. Dimal.
I'm with you Lucie, those monkeys look pretty fierce, especially their teeth😮 Hope you can resurrect the drone. Can't believe you walk around in bare feet, are you not scared you'll step on a snake or a scorpion or something?
We managed to get the drone fixed so lush cinematic shots coming soon 😛 and I was very silly here as to leave my shoes by the golden stupa which is right at the bottom of the hike up to Dambulla Cave Temple 🙄 honestly at the end of our walk I was nearly in tears my feet were so painful and the skin was so burnt (I have very weak westerner feet 🤪) not like Lahiru's feet which are indestructible!!
next time keep a pair of socks in your pocket, just in case you have to remove shoes for entering a temple you can put on socks, it will feel bit uncomfortable yet your feet will appreciate it... Great video as always
