Some I know actually substituted their drug/alcohol addictions for video games (granted that's a "healthier" addiction). Kyler played some games so much he was at elite levels in them that people said would take a ton of time. • @brandonsitch3807
      @brandonsitch3807 7 днів тому +8

      This could (partially) be a function of how “deep ball” is defined: if you’re getting this from PFF, a deep ball is any pass that is targeted 20 yards downfield or more w/ a minimum of 50 attempts of such throws on the season to be eligible. Purdy was barely above the minimum (53 att.), which suggests he doesn’t throw deep balls very frequently.
      Also, 20 yards seems somewhat arbitrary. I’d be interested to see what percentage of these throws are in each of the 20-25, 25-30, &c yards downfield categories, since a 22 yard “deep ball” shouldn’t be thought equivalent to a 38 yard deep ball.

You can totally just play video games for like an hour or two just like you would watching TV when you settle down tonight which people have been doing for the last least 50 years. Yeah it is true. You can play 10 hours of video games just like you can sit in front of the TV and watch sports for 10 hours and a lot of people do it during football season . It’s almost like everything within moderation 😂. Also trying to use therapist to talk about video games to prove a point is ridiculous. Colin once again and his rag on video games is wrong. A lot of people like Tom Brady, because we saw him earn his successes. He wasn’t the full time starter at Michigan, he was a backup to a good QB in Drew Bledsoe, and he had to play well to keen his starting role when Bledsoe was healthy. He wasn’t a physical specimen that had all the natural talents. He outworked everyone. He didn’t put himself above the team. He tried to game the system to get ahead through deflating balls. This is all stuff that relates to the average fan. And he only became the bad guy through success, which is something many people would like to be able to do.

    The gaming obsession is an opportunity some young coach is eventually going to unlock. Not by getting the QB to stop gaming, but by investing in gamifying the training of the position to the point the QB is more engaged with reality than the simulation of it. Tough job to be sure, but a 'name your price' contract opportunity for the coach that eventually figures it out.
    The young man is hyper focused. The organization needs to figure out a way to tap into it. Sometimes what seems like problems are actually opportunities. Feel pretty certain it won't just benefit the QB position once the system for developing that style of player is figured out.
    It's all manipulation and mentorship, just a matter of how's and why's. There's a mind that's clearly willing to grind. With hundreds of millions on the line there will be a teacher who adjusts his system to maximize the student. It's a revolution that's long overdue. The guy who can unlock the talent is a lot cheaper than the QB who's getting that contact no matter what. There's an inefficiency with a massive upside begging to be exploited.

    So as a married man with kids and able to take care of all my family responsibilities, work etc a guy can't be a gamer because they need to grow up? What about men that spend all their time going to bars, or out golfing, out hunting/fishing, perusing any sport, or watching tv all time, train or other hobby enthusiast, or guy that is addicted to work and never spends time with family etc? Oh and women do all these things too. Gaming is like any hobby or activity people use for fun /or obsession etc time. A person needs to learn to balance life no matter what they choose to do with the day. Just because someone is a gamer doesn't mean they aren't grown up. Some people might say that an adult man that makes a living talking about sports and watching sports, obsessing constantly every day about sports 24/7 that many have never even played professional sports is a man that needs to grow up. Some would say a man like Tom Brady that chose sports over his family and kids needs to grow up, he had no reason to need to keep playing other than his own selfish wants, and he put that over his own wife and kids. Maybe, don't judge people over what they pick to do with their time.

    i stopped watching the second you talked about the gamers especially with no context. There are thousands of streamers who are successful who are in marriages with kids. Kyler isn't in the gamer category for crying out loud. He's a professional athlete, not a gamer. If he spends too much time on a video game thats his problem, don't lump him into the "gamer" category. If a "gamer" or streamer is spending too much time not streaming making money like he was but is too busy doing something else then yes it's a problem. Welcome to 2024 colin, video games are normal, would you want your spouse staying at home playing video games or out at the bars drinking, smoking weed, doing drugs, watching tv shows the second you get home or watching game shows, its no different, or just out in the world doing something untrustworthy. There is nothing wrong with being a father and husband as a gamer. I am 52 years old and I have gamed all my life. We have a very loving and supportive family that spends plenty of time together. It is just a question of priorities. People need to stop judging gamers so negatively, it is no different than watching TV or reading a book, except it is more mentally stimulating because you are actually part of the story and you have to make critical decisions and use your brain... There are also many different types of games. The closest thing to gaming is playing cards or board games and that has been a socially acceptable past time for generations.
