If you are having issues finding the App on IOS or Android. Make sure you search for "Boating Marine and Lakes" I also forgot to mention that there is a 30 Day FREE trial, so make the most of it and give it a go
Thank you mate, that was a really interesting insight into a genuinely useful tool, I’ve just been having a look at the app, I can see lots of interesting new spots to explore 👌🏼
Glad it was helpful! The relief is better than my fish finder on the boat. Genuinely very useful. I will give it a test this season and see how accurate it is when out at sea.
@@TheOutdoor_Guy 👍🏼 I’ve been messing around on the app all afternoon, seen really cool new reefs I’ve never dived before, can’t wait for the season to get going!! Thanks for the heads up on this!
@@BR0SE1DON Awesome to hear, it's an absolute game changer isn't it. I only discovered it at the back end of last year. I have so many spots to try out this summer!
Having spent some more time on the Navionics App, I’m really bummed to say that it is painfully inaccurate, especially the depth measurements. For example a huge area that is at least 15 meters deep is showing as 4 meters. Reefs that I’ve dived are either completely missing or showing wildly inaccurate depths. It’s still a good tool to scout new ground but I wouldn’t trust it or consider any of the markings as 100% accurate.
@@TheOutdoor_Guy totally, it’s a very interesting app, just a bit disappointed by the accuracy of the depth data. How does it compare to the marks you dive? It wouldn’t surprise me if the data for Devon and Cornwall was more accurate than North Wales, where I dive.
@@jackmetcalfe8542 am I right in thinking that they pull actual data from boaters (people using their software) to build their charts? I’m sure I read that somewhere. If so, I guess that North Wales just doesn’t have the boat traffic to make the maps that accurate… which I guess is a good thing, in a way…!
@@BR0SE1DON Yes I believe so. Some areas seem to have virtually zero boat traffic e.g around Aberffraw and also much of the Llyn whereas Oban has boats zipping around everywhere and very accurate charts
Super vid! How many years do you spearfishing mate ? What's your maximum dive time now? And how long could you dive fir when you started spearfishing. Cheers !
Thank you! I've been spearfishing for around 10 years now and towards the end of the season I can hold my breath just shy of 2 mins. 90% of the time, I normally get my fish around the 1 minute mark.
That giveaway ..... just saying ....i could use a boat ? :-)
I bet you could😂😂
Could you now. I would love to give one out but I could never afford it haaa
@@TheOutdoor_Guy I have a kayak but im not sure it wont be more trouble than its worth to try diving from it ( alone)

Does the app only covers the UK waters?
I believe it covers other areas of the world. There is a 30 day free trial. Give it a go.
Is the navionics app only for android ? Can’t find it on iOS
It may come up as Boating Marine and lakes? But it has Navionics on the picture
Web based version is pretty good.
Awesome tips, thank you very much dude 😁👍

Have had very similar experiences around Anglesey, very inconsistent. However have found it far more accurate off Scotland to be fair

It would have been more helpful if you had shown us what the app looks like before its opened as there are far too many on the playstore🤷♂️
If you go onto the Playstore and type in Boating marine and Lakes you will find it. Sorry for the confusion
