My parents actually taught me a song to remember our address if we got lost or had to call 911. I still remember it. They made up a little tune, as much as I can give without using the actual address is the numbers (there were 5) like “da da da da da” and then “and Street Name is my street”- thank goodness I never had to use it, but I still remember it 30 some years later, so it obviously worked.
@oliviagirl1000 wow… maybe I will. Those comments were meant for John, I saw his comment. Must have accidentally replied here. Sry… will go back & find him
That story with the kid who lost his leg was heart wrenching. I’m at work fighting myself to hold back my tears for him. Especially when he started praying. I could only imagine. Bro was only a year younger than I am.
Listening to these stories makes me realize how much of a cakewalk my time out on the streets really was... I mean yeah, I did some questionable things and witnessed some even more questionable stuff, but that's neither here nor there... I'm still alive and healthy all things considered which is a blessing. I feel bad for those who weren't as lucky.

I live in Oklahoma near Duncan and that Walmart incident was definitely a true story. It happened about 3 years ago. It was wild and terrifying. It's honestly kind of chilling to sit here and listen to this.
My parents bought a house in NYC in 1988. In the neighborhood of Snug Harbor. Snug harbor was originally built in 1801 by retired sailors. They built beautiful Victorian style homes in the surrounding neighborhood as well. Our home was completely finished in 1877. I did not believe in ghosts as a child, but boy did that change. I have about 4 stories that are undeniable. 1. My mother was emptying the dish washer and putting the plates and glasses back in the cabinet when all of a sudden the door flew open and all the plates and cups came flying out and breaking on the floor. 2. My brother and I were affected an an early age of sleep paralysis. I would see a witch like creature in my window every time, and she would be laughing at me. It was terrifying especially when your parents think you’re lying for attention ( this was before the plate incident) 3. My father was never one to believe in anything super natural or ghosts or whatever. He still hasn’t told the full story, but that’s the one and only time I saw my dad cry and he was ugly crying, apparently he saw and felt a presence, and his whole body went cold and said it started talking to him. 4. Pictures and things on tables would be moved every morning. Not like “ oh someone bumped into it” my brother and I would both put it back in the right place, numerous items and sure enough the next day they would be moved. No way this was possible. Last but not least, our attic was the source of the bad energy, when you went up there you just felt “ it” well it was a weird layout . Adults could barley stand without hitting their head, and there was like 4 rooms back to back to back, very hard to explain. Anyways on numerous occasions my brother would be found in the farthest room, standing in the corner as far as he could go just staring at the wall not saying anything with his eyes wide open. When we would go get him, and yell his name he wouldn’t respond it wasn’t until me or my mom had to physically touch him and he would “ snap” out of it. He would be a little startled at first and then he would just say “ the lady made me come up here, and was telling me really bad things”. After about the 3rd time of that my parents officially “ believed “ us or had enough proof of their own to at least acknowledge something is not right here and they sold the house. Friends would refuse to sleep over after they did a few times. We found a bone, a leg bone most likely a tibia in the basement behind a heavy steel door. Remember this was a Victorian Josie built in the 1800’s . So numerous families lived there at a time way before we moved in. It was 100% no doubt about it haunted, some people believe us others call us crazy. But until you’ve lived something like that you’ll never know what it’s like and of course you’ll be skeptical, just pray you never have to question whether or not your house is haunted and your being haunted.
Wow!! That's crazy. But ghosts aren't real, it's demons. Thats exactly what sleep paralysis is. It happened to me for years tho not anymore. The LORD took care of that.

Yeah... Being the boyfriend of someone with children, I can't imagine how someone can be capable of that... Just, taking someone's mother away... My girlfriend is the kindest, sweetest soul and all of our disagreements - the few that we've had - were very minor. Her presence is like sunshine in the morning with a slight breeze. Besides God, she is probably the kindest soul I've had to deal with. Her children definitely think the world of her. When I heard the story about the little 4 year old, I just imagine taking someone like that away from them, basically their whole world... It made me extremely distraught, which I don't really experience often...
Ahhh!! There it is... The voice of a dark angel to soothe my woes for a few hours!! Amazing. Love your voice and story, telling Joel. Magical. Hope you feel better asap. Xoxo thanks again for the awesomeness 👌
I’ve heard that needing sound to fall asleep is a sign of subconscious trauma. Like when people need the Radio on or white noise to sleep. Not all the time- but more often than not, it’s the case that the individual has repressed or is trying to repress trauma, and it’s often childhood trauma.
And I’m not talking about just needing a distraction or entertainment to sleep. I’m talking about an almost pathological need for noise to fall asleep. That without it- the individual presents acute insomnia symptoms. Things from REM block, to restless leg syndrome, bot those are the more extreme examples.
The John Mayner story is the first to make me cry, I’ve felt a lot while listening to these stories but I’ve never cried, and then seeing the actual person’s face from the story got to me.
That story with the guy pretending to be a girl was wild. I always did the opposite and pretended to be male online to avoid predators and thirsty guys 😆
I remember a long while ago hearing that call where that guy got part of his leg amputated he has nuts of kryptonite for being able to stay as calm as he was on that call he's lucky man and Im glad to hear he survived that ordeal
That college lady with the homeless guy, Wendell, was frustrating. “Everyone is so pretentious because they don’t befriend homeless creeps, so I will be the enlightened one.” That attitude was ridiculous.
i’m so happy that john maynard’s story had a happy ending!! i was so tense just listening to it i couldn’t imagine actually trying to survive a situation like that
It's heartbreaking to wonder whatever happened to Timothy. I cannot believe she did that to his father unless something nefarious was going on...moreso in her head. I hope he's okay out there. Great narration on true crime cases!! Love it.
I feel like there was something going on with the dad that only she knew... What other reason would there be for her to do that? Maybe she did actually hand him to someone safe and he's living as best life as he can
What ever it involved seemed to be on the mother and the other "family relatives" side. What would even motivate that to such a degree that he's still missing today? were these other relatives even related? Were they apart of something else entirely that was so secret that required both timothy to be gone forever and for his father to never know about it? Why would the mother kill herself if not for even her not wanting to accept what ever this was apart of?
@@MR-qi5lc Yes, her suicide note said that he knows the reason why she did it. She doesn’t say anything else. Her husband said he doesn’t know. What if he does and doesn’t want to say it because it is horrible? Yes, I think there is more to the story. I think it might be something criminal. If it was something personal, he would say it.
Great stuff, love it.... Totally hate how UA-cam has the ads BLARING, yet I struggle to hear this great content🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ please keep up the great work!!!
I had to call 911...pretending to call off sick once...after being raped. Good thing the dispatcher had the mind to think that I really DID need 911. I would NOT be here right now. Not too long after I heard sirens from the police. I found out later that the guy that attacked me was a 'person of interest' in 2 other missing people. So pretending to 'call off sick' may have saved me from a serial killer possibly.
I love the chilling app, it's definitely worth the couple of dollars. You have access to a crazy amount of great videos and almost all of them are new and never heard of before. P.s I love your channel "let's read" you are one of my top favorites. You always have new stories instead of doing repeats like many of the other channels.. I sleep to your voice every single night. So thank you for making your channel so original and always interesting..... 🤗
That one story of the kid wandering off, I was the exact opposite. As a very small child I was inexplicably ACUTELY aware of that specific danger. You could not have bribed me to leave my responsible adult with candy nor kittens nor a million dollars. I was convinced if I was out of their sight in any store I'd be snatched and meet a horrible fate. Maybe I had that happen in a former life, who knows. I was actually a very sheltered kid, yet very paranoid.
Even with my separation anxiety I was a child who wondered due to a poor attention span; I also had really bad social anxiety so even if I couldn't find who I was with I would refuse to ask for help.
One of your most haunting works, I wasn't expecting a sleep video to be this atmospheric. The music used for this is spot on, I hope to find more of your videos with this kind of soundtrack
3 time in a row this week about to go to sleep again trying to actually hear the stories ! Every time I cut it on im sleep within 4 minutes 🤣🤣 this is ridiculous! Can’t never even get 10 minutes in the story I bet there amazing !🤣🤣🤣

2:02:45 - this story made me lose faith in emergency services at first, as I couldn't believe how much they needed to ask where the location was... But then, they reasserted their skills with how the dispatcher handled the situation.
Oml you have such a good voice for true crime podcasts it’s amazing it makes this whole thing so chilling and horrifying and I fricking love it it you did so good at telling the story great job ❤🤗❤
It just received my copy of 1079. Written by Igor Pavlov and Teodora Hadjiyska. Published in 2021. In my opinion, it's one best book of compiled information on Dyatlov pass. Teodora was also featured on Josh Gate's, Expedition Unknown. If Dyatlov pass is something you are interested in I recommend this book.
@@miketobias1821 Honestly I'm not sure. I don't believe it was an avalanche or aliens.I do believe that a lot of information was left out on purpose. The pass has been closed off and on for years. A logical reason is never given as to why.
I wish the Internet would focus on genuine mysteries and quit fixating on the Dyatlov Pass nonsense. Everything can be rationally explained by stuff like paradoxical undressing or scavengers eating the softest bits (like tongues). Everything except the radiation. Which, coincidentally, does not appear in the earliest reports. Meaning it's bullshit that got tacked onto the story later. Reminds me of the Flannan Isles Lighthouse "mystery". Everything indicates they just got swept out to sea by a big wave, except for these journal entries talking all kinds of paranormal bullshit. Because, surprise surprise, the journal stuff was bullshit that got tacked on later. Instead, for example, look at the Yuba County Five. Unlike the Dyatlov pass, that's an ACTUAL mystery.
Thank you so much man really. You help me fall asleep every night and the stories are so great so even when I wake up in the night I have something to occupy my mind until I fall back asleep. Thank you 🙏

Winner!!! Midnight here in the uk- perfect for my bedtime 💕
I love these my bro got me into these can you please make more long stories in other vids I love listening to them
As always, right there on my feed as I’m trying to go to sleep, thank you
Thank you LR, i was beginning to wonder if everyone forgot what scary and horror actually means
Ya for real. I’ve got some really good horrors
Great stuff, love it.... Totally hate how UA-cam has the ads BLARING, yet I struggle to hear this great content🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ please keep up the great work!!!
Struggling to sleep, your timing is perfect!
Ya I thought that was very creepy
Even with my separation anxiety I was a child who wondered due to a poor attention span; I also had really bad social anxiety so even if I couldn't find who I was with I would refuse to ask for help.
Aaaahhhhh!!!! You're timing couldn't be better! What a treat💕
😘
Let's be real, every video LR makes instantly helps us sleep.
I only listen to the first 30 mins but if the video short I will wake up when the video ends
Right
?
Heyyyyyy you’re the best! Love your narrations! Hope you’re having a wonderful new year! 😁✌🏻
They have great narration
The story about John Maynard got to me so much and you did such a fabulous job reading that I thought I was just going to die with him if he had❤
One of your most haunting works, I wasn't expecting a sleep video to be this atmospheric. The music used for this is spot on, I hope to find more of your videos with this kind of soundtrack
3.30am here in Germany and i finaly get my sleep , thanks !

These videos are the equivalent to Ambien. Without eating tacos in the back yard in the middle of the night
😂 but the tacos are the best part
These stories are amazing, some of my favorites I’ve heard
I feel I'm the only person who listens to these in the morning or while I'm doing chores. I couldn't fall asleep while listening to these😄

@@memphisskallywag7683 thank you!
I'm still ugly crying rn because of John Maynard's story. You have no idea how relieved I am that he survived. Kudos to the dispatchers & esponders too. I wish him all the best in life.
3+ hours always get me going!!! I can nap tomorrow at work hopefully
Oh my goodness. We're you live yesterday? I was looking for it but never saw anything and usually I get notifications. Hope all is well love the work you do and your voice !! ❤ stay spooky 👻 🤪 💀 🖤

Thank you for helping me sleep. You cure my insomnia
Just d/l the chill app🥃🍀. Cheers from Boston
2:02:45 - this story made me lose faith in emergency services at first, as I couldn't believe how much they needed to ask where the location was... But then, they reasserted their skills with how the dispatcher handled the situation.
I love Chilling 😍😍
Bedtime bliss 😍ty❤️
Oml you have such a good voice for true crime podcasts it’s amazing it makes this whole thing so chilling and horrifying and I fricking love it it you did so good at telling the story great job ❤🤗❤
It just received my copy of 1079. Written by Igor Pavlov and Teodora Hadjiyska. Published in 2021. In my opinion, it's one best book of compiled information on Dyatlov pass. Teodora was also featured on Josh Gate's, Expedition Unknown. If Dyatlov pass is something you are interested in I recommend this book.
I'm curious... What is your opinion as to what happened to those climbers?
@@miketobias1821 Honestly I'm not sure. I don't believe it was an avalanche or aliens.I do believe that a lot of information was left out on purpose. The pass has been closed off and on for years. A logical reason is never given as to why.
@@janemarie8984 it'll probably never be 100% solved.
@@miketobias1821 Unfortunately, I agree. It's sad that the truth is being kept. They deserve better than secrets and conspiracies.
Thank you 🙏
I swear anytime there is a cult involved in a story, there is ALWAYS someone named Charles
This Chanel should have 1mil by now. Like come on ppl!!
Hey man I absolutely love your vids and have been listening for years. I was just wondering if you've considered doing any videos with a black screen background? I would love that
That be great 👍👍
Those were amazing, thank you!
