Raiden slash is more of "Instant Death" rather than dealing 1 million damage

Raiden's Dimensional Slash is one of those ignore Defense and Resistance attacks, not to mention the damage is literally 999,999,999dmg x 3.14 in otherwards instant death attack mechanic, it's NOT meant to be Block-able because it's just that it's a Mechanic. The Thunder Sphere or a well-timed Kazuha leap are the only ways too avoid it and I've only pulled off that Kazuha Leap 2x in the past 2 1/2 yrs so pulling that one off is more flukish than anything. It should be feasible however to REFLECT said damage back at the Shogun but only Candace or Beidou are capable of pulling that off, it needs to be a Perfect Counter, else instant death will occur.

Raiden slash is literally infinite damage so there's no way to survive it other than create the electro shield from the ball.
Well, C6 Hu Tao or Shinobu can. But yeah, no way without effects like those.

Infinite damage would still mean nothing if you have 100% damage reduction. It's most definitely the case that the code for raidens slash runs some sort of conditional statement to see if the active character is under the electro shield or has a constellation effect. If those specific conditions aren't met, then hp gets instantly reduced to 0. Infinite damage isn't even possible since the maximum number a 64bit cpu register can even represent would be 2^64 - 1, which I daresay is quite a bit off from "infinity". Had the developers decided to do so, it would've also be very easy to just add the condition of 100% damage reduction to the check. Something like:

This isnt't the first video saying Xingqiu's sword give 29% dmg reduction, but it's false, he has a passive that increases it to 50% based on his hydro damage%
It can go up to 53% but yeah it seems the vast majority of people think he give 24% or 29%
With a normal build, he gives 42.32%

She’s got a crazy C6. The extra crit rate and crit damage is nice but getting an extra high dps attack to go along with it is great too. Plus you essentially take no damage and what small damage you do take can be healed immediately.
People are saying that Raiden's slash deals millions of damage, but I'm starting to think it's more of an instant kill slash, programmed to eliminate targets regardless of their HP or damage reduction.

The Makoto slash dmg count as "HP remove" i believe , so not matter how stronge your character are , shield or dmg reduce , your HP still going to be remove , erase , like remove 100% HP

Anyone knows if this is considered damage reduction or a separate multiplier when calculating final damage? Eg.
Additive: Clorinde receives 100-80-15 = 5% damage.
Multiplier: Clorinde receives 20%x85% = 17% damage
At this point they are just gonna give god/creative mode for c6

She has 3 sources of interruption resistance.
Dmg reduction doesn't negate knock back at all, even with 100% but since all sources of dmg reduction other than jean C6 provide interruption resistance as well, in practice, with the units we have, you're not gonna get interrupted with 100% dmg reduction

To be fair, figuring out the various ways to make it baby mode is actually fun lol

So they discovered 2 things, clorinde can be immortal and raiden shogun boss bypass armor by literally set it to 0
“Multiple DMG Reduction abilities stack additively. If DMG Reduction exceeds 100% + (DMG Bonus% of Incoming Attack),then the incoming DMG will be nullified.”
While clorinde dies on raiden slash with even 100+% damage reduction means that raiden’s slash attack has more damage bonus than the damage reduction you have.
We can take the damage reduction as an attribute which decreases base damage and not the total damage, in order to survive raiden slash, your damage reduction has to be greater than 100% more than the damage bonus she slash attack has “ie, if raiden slash attack has 200% damage bonus then you’ll need 300% damage reduction to survive. XD yea ik impossible

No. That attack doesn't do damage, it applies "Defeated" status to a random character in the team. Damage reduction wouldn't do anything. It's different from Musou no Hitotachi. That attack actually does damage, and can be survived via Beidou parry or spamming food.
C6 Kuki can survive insta kill attacks
Alternatively build a def noelle and activate skill

That just deals a lot of damage, but it's not a one-shot. You can stand in it and take the damage normally.
You could also do Dehya for damage deduction if you wanna keep her in Overload comp. its not 100% like Xingqui but overload comp is fun with her and Chev cuz bullets.

i think they did that because it will just makes the charaters too op when the bosses are not even that difficult. Imagine having atk speeds multiplicative

All damage resistance is additive in this game. People have been doing similar showcases with Xingqiu, Beidou and Jean since 1.0.
