Will do! The x pipe mod is going to be the first thing I do. As I get use to it I’m sure that’s when I will want to start changing the suspension. What do you think about tuning?
@@yamakader2271 do not consider tuning it until you get better brakes and more confident with the car, many tuned them and wrecked them this car is very fast as is if driven right, also once you hit 1500 miles the car becomes Way faster youll see.

Great video, man! Everytime u have a new video material for the QV, I get very excited! You are so knowledgeable about cars! Pls keep it up! I'm actually looking to change my rear brake pads with these tarox in the near future. Ur video couldn't come in a better time! Thx fanatic!
I just got a 2018 TI Lusso. Love the car with exception of the lack of brake feel and being unable to come to a smooth full stop. I've had BMWs for the past 40 years and miss the excellent pedal feel. Do you have a pad recommendation for the regular Giulia? Love your knowledgeable, informative, and fun videos! Thanks!
not at when the car is powered off the calipers are not energized and the pistons push in normally, actually easier than a conventional braking system.
I sold the Tarox pads to a friend who worn his OEM pads down almost to the backing plate so his pistons needed serious retraction so in his car I removed the master cylinder fluid cap and the pistons went back in super easy that helps in cases like that.
I pulled the weather tight plug on the master cylinder and opened the master cylinder. The caliper pistons retract really easy with my compressing setup.
Great video as always. I'm a big fan of hps5.0 but liked the ferodo ds2500 on my audi ttrs better. Next pads will be Endless MX72 after this winter. Would love to get an insight from you on those pads as well :)
Correction, they are not the only brake pads for the rear. Power Stop makes ceramic pads for the front and rear QV. I have been using them and are not too bad for $78.
@@autofanaticcars Have you tried them? They are a great pad for everyday use. I love driving the QV but hate black dirty rims. I unfortunately only can clean the car every 2-3 weeks so that is important to me. When I go to the track, I swap pads for the power stop track day ones. It's a great value that doesn't brake the bank and don't need crazy performance everyday.
Great review. I’d be very interested if you can try the EBC blues. I’ve been using those and have been very happy for price performance. They still have yet to come out with the rear pads. Also any interest in trying those tarox front rotors.
I was going to go with hawk 5.0 based on your video but also came across the tarox. The only good thing about the tarox is that it also comes with the rears. How are the dusting with tarox comparing to the 5.0?
Great video and explanation! From my personal experience with my Giulia I have the Tarox pads and they are great, my only concern is running the oem rubber hoses. After months of searching I finally found a SS brake line kit for our cars, just waiting on shipment. Hopefully the lines will help further with pedal feel.
since the car is brake by wire i doubt it will have any effect on pedal feel on these cars but let us know when you install them and what bleed process your planning to use.
the Tarox pads are way overpriced he EBC are a bargain if you can find them today. I did videos on all of these on the channel. For the money the Hawk 5.0 for the fronts are a great option for street use.
Well, thank goodness I didn't install the HP Plus pads on my car. I did track my car this weekend on the stock pads and they actually held up pretty well but they are not the best I know. We need to get someone to make an aftermarket caliper and rotor setup that will be better than this brembo setup.
Tarox makes some sick 2 piece rotors but calipers not going to happen, if you want a serious pad Carbotech XP8 but be prepared for massive dust and some occasional noise. on the high speed stretches they are incredible. I am considering the two piece rotors but i doubt they would do much on the street but they look pretty cool
@@autofanaticcars Cool, now regarding the pad swap out on our cars. A bunch of people on the forum claim that they have changed their pads and their cars start throwing a bunch of codes and car goes into limp mode. What are they doing wrong?
Porsche says great brakes squeal and dust. Everything else is a compromise. A Shelby is hardly a good benchmark. It's a heavier nose-heavy car with a much different brake system. There are many other pads I would look at first including Porterfield, Ferodo, Brembo, ATE ect...
Great video! As always very informative. I've found another compound for the rear pads, the EBC yellowstuff, available here shop.alfisti.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=ebc+giulia&x=0&y=0 I had the EBC bluestuff for about 6 months in the front of my QV (and OEM rear pads) and they had a feeling similar to what you described with the Hawk HP Plus, very good bite and feel, dusty, performed well on HPDE but they eventually overheated when I pushed it hard, additionally the squeal at low speed became anoying for daily driving, so even before I cooked those pads I had decided to get different pads. I wanted to try the EBC yellowstuff thinking they might be less noisy and a bit less aggresive, and found a great deal for front and rear EBC yellowstuff, I installed them in my QV last week, we'll see how it goes.
the only pad I tested that gives zero noise and 30% less dust is the Hawk Street 5.0 on this car but if you want more aggressive consider the options I explained in the video but the trade off is cost, noise and excess dust so you need to determine what is the most important to you and how you use the car daily. The Tarox pads might be worth considering for you versus the EBC, I never was a fan of EBC compounds since the late 90s when I first tried them out.
You are very dedicated to the Quadrifoglio
Love your QV content! Just got one last week and I’ve already put 600 miles on it lol. Keep it up
enjoy every moment behind the wheel and watch my channel for more QV specific videos, gotta do the X pipe mod for sure and the suspension mods.

Got the Hawk 5.0 based on your recommendation. Absolutely LOVE them.
thanks for sharing your feedback for all to see, they are a great all around pad, can not beat them for the money either.
Great explanations, appreciate that. Love the Hawk pads on the GT350, so may try that on the Stelvio. Look forward to the Giulia review 👍
Thank you for the videos!! Its great that you share all this research with us!
thanks for watching, ive been doing this research for 25 years now its great to share with a worldwide audience.

Interesting pads!
I think it’s bad for the electro hydraulic braking unit to the push the pistons back without opening the bleed screw.

I never tested or tried that brand so I can not give feedback. il look them up later to see what applications they offer.
Thank you thank you Phil for your great review on these pads. Will be going with hawks very soon.
you will love them

those are terrible pads they stop worse than the OEM why would you use those? those are not even in the high performance category for such a car.

What brake pads you recommend for carbon ceramic rotors

Nevermind you answered it down the video lol. I’m looking more into street pads with low dust with both availability for the front and rear.
use the hawk 5.0 up front and keep the stock rears,

Same pads for ceramic rotors are Ok or need special pads ?
Can you test and make a video on Stoptech street performance 309 pads?
all of the pads i tested are quite better than those so i most likely will not test them
Would you recommend the EBS yellow or reds over the pads here for a Giulia QV?

You need to bed in the carbotecs properly or they don't work... Bedding is key. Preferably on new discs
The QV rear brakes are actually the 2.0t Q2 and Q4 front brakes. Thanks for showing that here ua-cam.com/video/6_2pdbXnlU4/v-deo.html
