Rhett's natural instincts are impressive; Link's are terrifying.
Very true😂
Lmao I think Link’s reactions are just a bit impulsive
Absolutely Lol
Why terrifying? Or impressive?
As much as I enjoy watching 2 grown men play silly games, it's just a silly game.

Definitely a California thing.
It’s also a Floridian thing. I basically only understood the half that Rhett did (if not a tiny bit more but still).

Just by reading the title first thing that popped in my mind is that Rhett and link can’t follow directions in English
Hahahah sammmme
This is a very good point 😂😂😂

As a linguist, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this episode. I was really impressed that they were able to get as much as they did, and Rhett's instincts are so good. Not to mention, it was hilarious as well. I would love to see more language content like this in the future.
Derozero did real good in this one! 🤣

As a Spanish speaking person, I was amazed at how much Rhett understood! Such a great episode 🙌
I think it’s likely a product of living in California
@@toomanyopinions8353 it also helps that Latin is the main influence of Spanish, and if you know a few Latin origins for words, you can then infer. At the very least that is one of the ways I know some Spanish words I do not know. Some are obviously easier than others though.
"Paint brush" is not "cepillo de pintura" in spanish.
Why? Spanish is an extremely easy language. It is top 3 in the world for simplicity.

Congrats Kalyn on escaping Ohio and joining the Mythical Crew! Her takeover episode was my favorite and most memorable!
Which episode did she write? I can’t remember which one it was
Agreed, would like to rewatch it if you have the source OP
Which episode did she write?
Reply to this cause I want to know as well! Kalyn is living the dream!
Wan to know the episode as well :D
Rhett is really good at figuring context clues. Link just has a bit of difficulty, but that's alright.
I think Link's issue is focus. He is like a kid who stops listening halfway through the instructions because he thinks he already knows the answer lol
Would love to see a round of instructions in ASL next time around! If you don’t have any Deaf staff, you could hire a local Deaf person for the episode! 🙂
Kalyn can sign as well!😊
@@audreyfrench3913 that’s awesome! The general sentiment from the Deaf community tends to be that we need to stop hiring hearing people to do jobs pertaining to ASL. This would be a great opportunity for some Deaf representation! 👍🏻
Love this idea!
No they should try NZSL
@@viiperbiite Well they're American so... ASL would come first if they did do a sign language video...
14:38 "Almond, she said almond!"
As an English-only speaker, I can tell you with certainty that no, she did not, Rhett.
I can't understand Korean at all, but I heard her say "MUG cup" like a hundred times and never heard "almond."
This was a really fun episode, hopefully we get more like this!
Yes!!!
This was a great episode
If the episode does well they probably will.
i agree. i loved this episode
yes but make the boys compete against each other
Can you imagine entering a contest and not only winning that contest...but then being hired to as a permanent writer on your favorite UA-cam channel!? So jealous!!! And happy for Kalyn!!! :)
Exactly. Ikr
Happy for her aswell and she’s absolutely gorgeous too👍🏾
I didn’t think I’d like this episode as much as I did (but I watch these like it’s a morning routine at this point anyway so I did) but I loved it so much!
I love the diversity of the mythical crew and how they manage to bring another dimension to this show of theirs that has become like something of getting to know extended family members haha. I love it.
So lovely to see how they get to know their crew members and how we get to know a little bit about some of them and also how some have been fans and have probably achieved a dream by ending up working not just for, but with them.
So wholesome. No wonder I’ve been here for years. :’) ❣️
@virtu aww thank you sweetie
I love how they were still respectful towards each language. They could still be entertaining and make jokes, but more about how inept they are at understanding rather than the languages themselves. A lot of people (cough cough talk show hosts) can learn from that
it’s one of the reasons we love em
I remember how amazing Kalyn’s concept was for the Mythical Beast takeover and now I’m thrilled she’s a writer. Living the dream indeed.
do you remember which episodes she wrote? i wanted to see it thank youu

@@mollyirene816 when he does listen to Link he was right but when he doesn't Link is right.
As someone who is native Spanish speaker and is studying Korean, this episode was GOLDEN. Rhett is extremely intuitive, it's outstanding!
This reminds me of a class I took in grad school. We were all foreign language teachers, but mostly French and Spanish. So the teacher taught the entire first hour in Japanese to see how much we could infer from tone and body language cues; its purpose was to remind us what our students often feel like when we speak to them. Needless to say, I didn't do any better than R&L.
The only tests I ever cried in were my French tests, and I took music theory. 🥴😂
That is a great idea!
"Will this be on the test?"
It would be hilarious to see a version of this with Josh and Emily trying to cook together while given a recipe/instructions in another language.
I hope this blows up and this happens... Can you imagine the extra chaos! 💜
You know that Josh is secretly a polyglot
YES
As someone who can understand and speak Korean, hearing R&L say the words made me laugh harder than it should
I'm still only at Spanish which is merely my fifth language, but I'm laughing so hard it hurts lmao, I LOVE this concept

I'm kinda glad they went with Korean and Farsi rather than just doing like French, German, and Italian or something. Those languages share a lot of word origins with English so it would have been too easy. Although... They still messed up Spanish so maybe not hahah
English is my second language, I don't understand even a little bit of Italian or Spanish language 😂

Farsi is indo European though.

All of the translators saying a line about them failing in their language is comedy gold😂
