Never to old to be a artist of any kind
There are rappers and there are artists. Andre is an artist, always has been. I think it's clear which of the two Cool J is. 😂
Not to hate on him, rap is obviously an art, but how are you going to make fun of Andre's music when you haven't tried taking artistic risks like that yourself? You don't have to feel crazy about the album, but respect the art, especially if it's something you yourself couldn't do.

Let's allow people to grow and evolve. Then maybe we'll grow and evolve ourselves.

If you fell in love with the flow and the rhythm. Why would a person love a flute album from him. Evolution is gradual...he stopped rapping suddenly. Then pop up with playing the flute... with no lyrics. I feel like his rap style with the flute as background music would be 🔥

Stop it. If 50 Cent made an album playing the harp, YOU and everybody else would be clowning him. The ONLY reason you're giving 3000 a pass is because he's a weirdo. Point blank period. Black folks need to stop with all the capping
What you mean let him? He can follow whatever path he wants to and we can also not like trash. Tell that man the truth. You can be a fan without being a yes man. Everything don’t sound good that’s what make the good great
@@silverblackguerrilla4370 Are you telepathic or how do you know what this guy would be thinking? 😂
If 50 dropped a genuinely good harp project I would have massive respect for him. It's not easy to take risks like that, especially in your later years. That takes balls. Like I get what you're saying, people have different expectations for 50 than they have for 3k, so there would be people clowning him, but you're acting like everybody has to think what everybody else is thinking. Why should I care who they clown? People have been clowning 3k from the very beginning, you yourself called him a weirdo. I still think he is a legend. That album will give kids who still play instruments a chance to play them in the hip hop genre and not be consider jazz which today’s generation don’t listen too much any more even though that a huge contribution we’ve made to music as well.
This comment is nonsense. Every song is made using instruments. Sampled or live.
That’s sampling, I’m talking about kids playing hip hop with live instruments again. More like the roots, have hip hop albums using live instruments, not just sampling like Dre did.

thats because his song titles on this album are mad long! like the first track is "I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a 'Rap' Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time" and all of the songs seamlessly flow into the next. Dre appreciates his audience but he will never cater to them.
He is a true artist and if he is not feeling something he doesn’t do it. Being an MC is something he is putting on the back burner while he tries something else that he is excited about. Whether or not you like it doesn’t matter it’s where he’s at artistically at this moment.

It’s beautiful art and I like that Dre is so versatile until he actually has artistic options. Many - males and females alike - are paying for plastic surgery to look younger and keep themselves as relevant as possible according to the fads and the obsession with youth that is so prevalent in rap and R&B in our time.
Dre, on the other hand, seems less focused on keeping up with trends and more concerned with exploring the many dimensions of his greatness/artistry in ways that resonate with HIM. I was interested when i heard it that he was making this album but when i actually heard it i think to me what made the album not interesting was the fact that the album was not even composed by Andre himself.. it just sounds like Carlos Nino album featuring Andre 3000. And he is playing flute at beginner level impro.
Andre 3000 could make a blank album with no sounds and people would go crazy for it. Carlos Niño composed that album, go listen to his stuff and it sounds just like New Blue Sun, but without mediocre/beginner flute playing by Andre 3000. And dont get me wrong, Andre is one of my favorite artists, but he really isnt a good flute player or improviser, or atleast not interesting enough. I listen to rap, jazz, classical music and have played and composed music for 15 years so it’s not like i am not exposed to different kind of music. I guess i am just customed to good improvisation skills when listening to jazz, and i dont get the point of releasing some album that sounds like Carlos Niño has composed the background music and you have just dabbled or practiced some doodlibg impro stuff over it. To me it’s pretentious that he thinks that he is that good. And of course this is just my opinion, but you can listen to Carlos Niños music and compare and you can listen to some great flute improvisers and compare. Forget who he is, just listen to the music. And if it’s good to you after that, great! My point is just that the name on the cover shouldn’t affect your ears or your judgement..
Thank you sir, I’m glad someone said it. I got tired of people saying his flute playing was good…. It wasn’t. It was beginner level at best. And to think he thought he can make a whole album with that flute playing? And I listen to and is exposed to a lot of different genres of music. And I listened to the album to give it a chance and I couldn’t make through any of the songs. Each of them is 11 minutes. That should’ve stayed on the hard drive.
I second that notion... Not da flute my guy😂
L.L. Telling the truth, especially about the "Bad Albums" not many Rappers are gonna admit that.
Same reason people listen to other genres of music. Music comes from how one is feeling, experiences, moments, years, past, pain, happiness, craziness, instrumental, spiritual, etc. The flute is a reflection of inner peace. That's where he is right now with self. If you respect music and artists, then you understand the levels to it and realize what a gift it is when they share their personal journey and transformation with the fans. I appreciate it to the fullest.
Love this❣️
Naw…that flute album was actually really good. I was surprised cuz yeah I love rap and it’s my first love but I was raised a jazz musician by my dad so I can kinda tell if a jazz of fusion or instrumental album is good or not. He got props for that album for valid reasons. But many time’s greatness is transferable so let three stacks cook. When he got something to say he’ll say it, right now he’s simply feeding his need to create. The first song I Really Wanna Make a Rap Album is dope. I’m actually gonna put live bass and drums to it to remix/rearrange it.

LL is talking out of his ass. When Andre 3000 pushes boundaries he remains critically-acclaimed. When LL tries to mix things up we get NCIS: Los Angeles and Accidental Racist. Nobody wants to hear a violin album from LL because there's nothing about him and that suggests it would be any good.
@@effenbegee6252mannn th with that flute shht 3 thou going thru something cuz as nice as he was …now he has no inspiration or anything to say….smh meanwhile Nas nem still spitting….3 thou seems like he can’t get right. That’s a lame excuse “I’m 48” you rap as a 48 yr old would ….tell me some shht. That’s like saying a poet can’t be a poet past a certain age! Nope that’s BS
@@j.roberts2230 "Going through something"? Have you not been paying attention to the fact that Andre has been on some other shit for his WHOLE DAMN CAREER. He didn't rap a single bar on The Love Below and that came out over 20 years ago! While he's proven time and time again that he can go toe to toe with any MC, Andre's never tried to carve out the same kind of catalogue as Nas etc.
Awesome Stuff Y'all
Rather than changing Andre for money more people should be like him
He just misses Andre 3000
Andre 3000 is spiritually on another level. Respect!!
I STILL F WITH OUTKAST, ANDRE 3000 & BIG BOI..EVEN THOUGH I'M IN LOVE WITH LL COOL J & TUPAC. 😂 💯💯 90s HERE FOREVER! #MYGENERATION
This is what makes LL the GOAT. CAUSE HE KEEPS IT FUCKIN REAL. ANDRE KNOWS THIS WORLD IS FUCKED UP ON SOME BULLSHIT. DRE BEEN RAPPIN ABOUT HIS LIFE AND THE WILD BULLSHIT IN THIS WORLD IT IS WAY TOO MUCH MATERIAL. AND DRE IS WAY TOO CLEVER WITH THE POETRY OF WORDS AS A WORDSMITH TO FUCK HEADS UP WITH THIS RAP HIP-HOP SHIT AND THATS THE POINT. 16 AINT ENOUGH KEEP GOIN!
True story
This is the reason why he doesn't want to make or shall I say release another rap album. To witness Outkast from the beginning you know he is an artist and is multifaceted. He can't be put in a box without growing distane for the box along with the people who put him there. I think he has tons of music that is unreleased hopefully we will one day have the pleasure of hearing
I said something similar here but you did it more elegantly than I did!
LL Cool J Jadakiss
Jadakiss is right Hip Hop is still to brand new. Hip Hop is still evolving changing the musical landscape. Look how OUR BEAST MODE CREATIVITY FKD UP the industry.
